About MNUMNU is a technological venture company that has inherited the spirit of “Japanese monozukuri” and is aiming for the world. Most of our members hold PhDs from the University of Electro-Communications, and we are carrying out cutting-edge research and business activities.

Mission

We are a "software-hardware specialist group." Our mission is to expand our research to projects, and then to businesses, contributing to the development of Japan's technological strength and economy.

Most of our members hold PhDs in science-related fields

Our company centers around PhDs in the sciences at the University of Electro-Communications. When you think of someone who holds a PhD, a researcher comes to mind. In fact, these days there's a growing awareness that the world of academia and the world of business are not the same. By no means is this idea wrong. However, this does not mean that science PhDs, with high levels of specialist knowledge and the ability to make presentations, cannot participate. We hope to demonstrate that it is possible to link research with business through business. Moreover, we feel that Japan has no future unless we find places where these type of PhDs can thrive. Together with science PhDs, we hope to practice a new "monozukuri" in a venture company.

Contents of Our Work

We turn our own specialties into businesses. As we are a venture company, we will tackle anything that looks interesting. However, as this is a business, unlike research we need to be aware of the market and create a business model that will generate revenue. Our staff is also engaged in their work as well. As researchers, we would like you to build a record of accomplishments for academic presentations and authored papers.

Work Hours

We do not have set work hours. In general, work at your own pace when you feel most productive. However, everyone is required to attend regular meetings. We mainly use Skype for keeping in contact.

Environment

Programmers use MacBook Air and Thunderbolt displays as their standard environment.

Software

Web applications generally use Python and JavaScript. We plan to create an application that uses Common Lispat some point.

Hardware

We are involved in a wide range of activities, including the design of electrical circuits or semiconductors and ultra-high definition television research. At present, we are expanding our business with a focus on obtaining patents.

The history is automatically saved when a file is

deleted or changed.

Even if a file is deleted by accident, it can be

easily restored from the past history.

Dedicated Storage

PBOX uses a dedicated environment.In general, users are required to set up a SoftLayer contract.

We do not share storage with other companies.

It is possible to ensure high levels of safety

through restricting access or using only VPNs,

for example.

It is easy to share files between clients and

vendors.

By creating a restricted URL, anyone can easily

send files.

There is no need to attach files to emails, or to

compress them.
