PanSystem™ 3.5 Software Release

Notes

New Features

The major new features of PanSystem 3.5 software are:

Advanced Gauge Data Conditioning• New module in the Dataprep section

• Wavelet-based methodology for cleaning, denoising and reducing data

• Automatic event detection

• Fast processing of large data files

Deconvolution• New module in the Analysis section

• Extracts underlying reservoir and boundary models from multi-rate tests in the form of aneasy-to-analyze constant rate drawdown response

• Minimization process also adjusts for rate measurement errors

• Ideal for long-term flowing and shut-in pressure data

ODBC import - real time acquisition• Data can be collected in a real time fashion after an initial ODBC import has been

completed.

• Incoming data are automatically appended to the existing dataset.

• User selects update frequency and maximum amount of data.

Data Edit Plot and Test Overview improvements• New right-hand plot axis control

Some of the minor enhancements are:• If file is saved on the Data Edit Plot , it will now open on this plot instead of reverting to the

PanSystem logo screen.

• If Data Edit or Test Overview plots are saved with date and clock time on the x-axis, thesewill be retained when the file is opened.

• Delete TPR dialog is wider to accommodate long names.

• Delete TPR column selection improved when more than one file has been imported andthere are multiple data columns.

• LAS file import  interface improvements for very large files.

• Negative pressures are automatically deleted during gauge data import.

• Suppressed the pressure and temperature check  when leaving the Fluid Parameters dialogwhen they have not been initialized in Layer Parameters.

Bug Fixes

The main bug fixes are:

• Type-curve match automatic curve identification was not working and type-curvessometimes flickered after repeated matching.

• Skin pressure drop from radial flow plot line-fit was not changing as line was moved ifresults had been confirmed.

• Radial flow plot axes were sometimes corrupted.

•  Auto Match crashed when the commingled model was in use.

• Radius of investigation for Radial Composite model was being computed using inner  regionproperties; now uses outer region.

•  Auto Match did not work with the wireline formation tester probe models.

• Removed spurious line of text from IPR plot results box.

• Corrected error in vertical position of the wellbore storage type-curves in stage 2 of Gascap/Aquifer  type-curve matching.

• Color contouring is now suppressed during PanMesh simulation run, to prevent anoccasional crash that occurred on some computers.

Known Issues

• External models for 2-, 3-, and 4-zone Radial Composite reservoirs display wrong line-fitvalues on the log-log plot if a unit-slope line is fitted for wellbore storage. They are OKotherwise.

• Area and volume calculations are missing from the log-log plot line fits for the 2-cellboundary model. Spurious Vtot  and V2 results are displayed from the "First reservoirclosed system" line on the Cartesian plot in "Buildup" analysis mode.

• It is not possible to use the multiphase pseudo-pressure option if a customized unitssystem is set up. Only those units systems supplied with the installation may be used.

• For proper scaling, the Map import in the numerical data input window requires thegraphic size to be less than screen resolution.

• Under Windows VISTA, the color rendering in PanMesh software might appear dim(depends on the PC).

• Under Windows VISTA, two spurious "MFC Application" error messages appear in sequenceafter closing PanMesh software. Simply close the second one to continue. These dialogboxes do not affect the functionality of PanMesh software or its interaction with PanSystemsoftware.
