I.C.E. COMMENTComment: My family and I recently returned from a trip to a freezing cold on-base apartment. We immediately had to break out the heavy blankets and leave the front door open to the hallway for it to be warm enough to stay in our apartment. This transition period, when the Heating/Air Condi-tioning System is turned off, is very difficult for my family and many others in on-base housing. Is there anything that can be done so my family can be com-

fortable inside our home? Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide us your comments in the ICE system. We under-stand your frustration and concern and apologize for this inconvenience. Climate control policies follow Department of the Navy energy instructions. Unfortunately, our heat-ing systems in high-rises are not capable of being turned on in individual units for those who feel it is too cold. Additionally, work must be performed during

this transition period, when the system is turned off completely, to perform the necessary maintenance needed to ensure the air-conditioning system is operating correctly when it is turned on in mid to late May. If you have any more concerns, please contact Housing Customer Rela-tions at 243-9067.
