Ikego Fire Dept Open House12 to 2 p.m. | Ikego Fire Station

Regional Fire and Emergency Services will host an open house to educate the community on fire safety as a part of Fire Prevention Month. A variety of games and entertainment will be available during the event.

Verny Park, 5-min. walk from main gate | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.The largest bakery event on the Miura peninsula takes place at Yokosuka’s Verny Park, minutes away from Carney Gate. Bakers from all over Kanto will come to showcase their breads, so be sure to stop by for a taste! On Sunday, visitors can also visit the adjoining Miura Shokusai food market.

Celebrate Halloween on Main Base and Ikego Housing on Wednesday, Oct. 31. CFAY escort policy will allow up to 10 guests for USFJ personnel and six guests for MLC/IHA/HPT personnel. MLC/IHA/HPT sponsors must submit a pre-authorization guest pass by Oct. 19; USFJ sponsors must submit pass by Oct. 26. Personnel requesting access after these dates will be subject to the normal guest allowances.

Comment: I am a tower resident. Last week, I was walking into the tower and heard loud music coming from the party room. I thought it was a DJ playing party music, but realized it was actuallya band playing rock music. I peered into the room from the blinds outside and saw there was a drummer, a guy playing bass guitar with huge speakers with amps for microphones and a couple of ladies singing and playing guitars. I thought

bands weren't allowed in the party room? I discovered that this group conveniently checks out the party room and invites people from all over the base to play there once a month. My point is this: People need to follow the rules, period. If band and loud music playing is not allowed, it's not allowed. If they want to have a band, they shouldn't practice in the party room.Response: You are absolutely

Everyone has a responsibility to prevent domestic violence and build a healthy, safe community. Have the courage to speak up and do the right thing. Contact base security or the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) at 243-7878 if you are a victim or witness of abuse. Confidential support is available 24/7.

Building C21, Command Hill: Parking will be reduced during the demolition and reconstruction of Building C21 until March 2019. TPU Building Renovation: Until April 2019, parking will be unavailable. CFAY HEATING SEASONIn support of Navy and National Energy policies, and completion of system maintenance, CFAY will turn off air conditioning for family/unaccompanied housing and schools Oct. 22-23. Users are advised to open doors and windows and use natural ventilation to the maximum extent possible. Heating turn on dates will be announced in the future.

OVERSEAS HOUSING ALLOWANCE (OHA)

UTILITY EXPENSE SURVEYTake the OHA survey until Oct. 31 at https://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/ohaSurvey.cfm. A CAC is not required; DOD ID number is required. The survey can be completed by the service member or spouse.

Road Closure for Ikego Open House: Yasakayato St. in front of the Ikego Fire Station, will be closed for the Ikego Fire Department Open House. Pedestrian traffic will not be impacted. Parking will be available at the parking garage next to the Fire Station.

EEP Package Community Briefing CancellationOctober's community briefings on completing Emergency Evacuation Program Packages (EEP) are canceled. EEP packet bi-weekly briefings will resume Nov. 2.
