Glenn Gene Emerson passedaway Sunday, June 19, 2016at his home in Winter Springs,FL surrounded by his lov-ing and devoted wife, Cheryl,and their children Nicholasand Andrea. Gene fought ashort, but courageous, battlewith cancer. Gene was bornDec 8th, 1952 in RichlandCenter, WI and is the son ofGlenn and Betty Emerson.Gene was raised on the fam-ily farm on Ash Creek and heattended the Paul’s School(elementary) and RichlandCenter High School. Genelived the farming life with hisfamily during his early yearsand was a typical youngman of Richland County,who enjoyed squirrel hunt-ing and deer hunting withhis friends and his Dad. Afterhigh school Gene moved toFlorida where he met his wifeCheryl in the Fort Myers area.They married in April 1989and moved to the WinterSprings area. Gene workedin the communications fieldfor most of his adult life.He established and ran hisown business and installedcommunications systems invarious hospitals and busi-nesses throughout Florida.He also had the opportu-nity to do some installationon cruise ships which tookhim as far away as Spain.Gene’s favorite pastime wasriding his motorcycle. Heowned a Road King and heand Cheryl enjoyed ridingon weekends with friends.They were able to make theSturgis bike event in SouthDakota and enjoyed that timetogether very much. Genealso assembled and rode his1946 Harley Knucklehead tothe envy of many friends. Hetook many people for ridesincluding his mother during aFlorida visit! Gene also lovedworking in his backyard. Hespent countless hours creat-ing flagstone pathways andplanting hundreds of nativeplants. He created a botani-cal sanctuary that has beenadmired by everyone. Geneis survived by his loving wifeCheryl, his children - Nicholasof New York, NY, and Andrea

of Winter Springs, FL. Theywere the source of dedicatedcare during this intense anddevastating illness. Gene isalso survived by a daughterRobin EmersonofHenderson,NV, and Cheryl’s son ScottSteward of Grass Lake, MI.Gene’s mother, Betty (Kittle)Emerson survives him andstill lives on the family farmoutside Richland Center, WI,Gene has 3 sisters - JudyEmerson of the StevensPoint, WI area; Norlene(Jim Aagard) Emerson ofRichland Center, WI; andDeanna (Chuck) Blum of SunPrairie, WI. 5 grandchildren,5 nephews and 2 nieces willalso miss him very much.He is preceded in death byhis father Glenn Emerson. Virgil D. Keller, 80, ofMuscoda, Wisconsin diedSaturday, June 25, 2016 atThe Richland Hospital. Virgilwas born December 14, 1935to Edwin and Ada (Emshoff)Keller, the youngest of sixchildren. He grew up in AshCreek and graduated fromRichland Center High Schoolin 1953. On November 27,1954, he married LindaChitwood. Together, thetwo farmed for 61 years,the last 56 of those yearsin Richland County’s EagleTownship. Virgil had a pas-

sion for registered Holsteins.He was a proud 4-H parentand enjoyed the many familyfriendships that he and Lindadeveloped through their workas Richland County dairyproducers. In 1985, the cou-ple hosted one of RichlandCounty’s first annual dairybreakfasts. He especiallyenjoyed hosting internation-al visitors to the farm. Virgiland Linda sold their milkingherd in 1997. In the yearsthat followed, he enjoyedwoodworking and teachinghis grandchildren how to cre-ate wooden artwork of theirown. His grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren werehis pride and joy. Survivorsinclude his wife of 61 years,Linda; four children, Vicki(Jerry) Stadele of Muscoda,Steve (Janet) Keller ofOregon,WI, Shelly (Dwight) Mayerof Slinger, and Stacy (Jerry)Kleist of Richland Center;nine grandchildren and eightgreat-grandchildren: Angie(Mike) Lickel and their chil-dren Emma and Logan ofBarneveld, Niki (Brian) Baileyand their children Will andOwen of Spring Green, Dana(Jeremy) Wilson and theirchildren Wren and Ryder ofRichland Center, and Kyla(Kyle) Montgomery and theirchildren Lane and Raelynnof Richland Center; Devin,Dylan, and Cassie Mayer ofSlinger; and Sterling and CoraKleist of Richland Center; sis-ter Madalene McCauley ofRichland Center; sister-in-law Jena Keller of RichlandCenter; many nieces andnephews; cousins; other rel-atives and friends, includingspecial friends Ed and SharonSpencer of Reedsburg. She wasborn July 8, 1932 in SummitTownship, Juneau County,the daughter of Edwardand Luella (Krueger) Wollin.Waneita was united in mar-riage to Eddie Hill in LaValleon October 12, 1950.Waneita worked at MartinsManufacturing and after itsclosing, she went to workat Allen Bradley, where shewas affectionately known as‘Grandma.’ She retired fromAllen Bradley at the age of 83.She enjoyed playing Bingoand traveling. Richardattended the Richland CountyTeachers College for twoyears. He served in the UnitedStates Army from December7, 1967 to December 1,1973. Richard married JoyceKlingaman on August 15,1970. Together they had twochildren, Jodi and Jeff. Hewas employed for 25 yearsat Simpson Ford Tractorbefore starting his own homeremodeling business. Richardwas known for his fine crafts-manship. He made manybeautiful pieces of furniturefor his family. Richard lookedforward to his morning “cof-fee clutch” at Bailey’s PaintStore. He enjoyed playingpoker at Ho-Chunk and waswell known as “Dick M” tostaff. Dick and Joyce enjoyedtheir travels and through theyears had driven to 49 ofthe 50 states and enjoyedtheir fishing trips to NorthDakota. He spent much ofhis time hunting with hisson, Jeff with many memo-rable hunting weeks spentat the “Buck Snort Resort”.Survivors include his wife of
