LETTERS Another literary genre of the New Testament are the letters written by some apostles to the first Christian communities. In these letters they applied the evangelical principles to particular situations or explain controversial points. Of great importance also is the transmission of the gospel message to new cultural categories, creating in this way a theology of faith. The most known letters are the ones of St. Paul, responsible for embarking towards a new expansion of Christianity. We select here some of the most known texts of Paul, James and John as they have been used in the liturgy and in Christian tradition.
