Community Writing Center Coordinator, Writing Center July 2015 – July 2016 • Appointed by the university Writing Center Director to establish Michigan’s first

Community Writing Center in Saginaw, Michigan • Developed and lead 16 writing workshops for 60 community writers with 98% of

participants rating these workshops as “Excellent” or “Good” • Co-trained a staff of 8 Community Writing Center tutors and authored the

organization’s training manual based on best-practices in community tutoring • Assisted in the development of various advertisement materials, which were

allocated to over 20 organizations in the Saginaw community • Facilitated and maintained collaborative relationships with over 100 community

organizations and individuals to deliver workshop and tutoring opportunities • Utilized Google Forms as a data-collection tool to assess and improve upon the

quality and effectiveness of writing workshops and tutorial sessions

Writing Camp Coordinator, English Department Summer: 2015, 2016 • Composed and implemented daily schedule for camp activities focused on

enhancing campers’ creative writing skills • Trained 8 camp leaders to deliver quality writing support to 35 middle and high

school students • Co-managed camp budget of $2,000 while overseeing registration and planning

tasks in preparation for the creative writing camp

• Created and distributed marketing materials to extoll and build upon the camp’s positive reputation, which resulted in a 94% increase in attendance between my first and second year as Coordinator

• Collected evaluative data from campers and staff to gage and improve the effectiveness of the camp and used this data to author the annual camp report

Writing Tutor, Writing Center January 2012 –July 2016 • Conducted over 400 tutorial sessions with undergraduate and graduate students

from various disciplines with 99% of sessions being rated as “Excellent” or “Good” • Served on the Writing Center’s Strategic Planning Committee in the Winter of 2016

to institute a new organizational mission and organizational goals • Worked with SVSU faculty on several pedagogy-related projects, including teaching

writing to non-native English speakers and developing effective writing assignments • Engaged in professional development workshops addressing student need, best

practices in peer tutoring, and the development of university writing centers • Established the Writing Center’s mentor-tutor program as one the first mentor tutors,
