Channel [V] Music Thailand Co., Ltd. is a three-party joint venture between STAR, TrueVisions and GMM Media. The channel is a music channel producing 24–hour music for all Thai youth. Dear customers, in this issue of Trendy D, we are presenting you with the Wii Fit a game that keeps your family members fit and fun.

Wii Fit is the latest innovation from Nintendo. It is a combination of fun and fitness, just like you are doing an exercise. A user needs to stand on a Wii Balance Board accessory to read our real-life movements and bring them to life on screen.

The Wii Fit can be your personal trainer. First, a player will need to check your Body Mass Index (BMI), the game will calculate the BMI from your movement to find your body mass from weight and height. Then the game will design an exercise program to help you work your way to a more fit you. You can check your training record to track your improvement or compare with other family members.

The Wii Fit is for everyone in a family. It comes with games for users of all ages to choose for example, Yoga, aerobic, body balance and strength training.

ผโจมตจะสง ICMP Echo Request ไปยง broadcast address ในเครอขายทเปนตวกลาง(ปกตจะเรยกวา amplifier) โดย ปลอม source IP address เปน IP address ของระบบทตอง การโจมต ซงจะทำใหเครอขายทเปนตวกลางสง ICMP Echo Reply กลบไปยง IP address ของเปาหมายทนท ซงทำใหม การใชงานแบนดวดธอยางเตมท

การปองกน

เชนเดยวกนกบการโจมตแบบ ICMP flood เราเตอรและอปกรณ กรองแพคเกตอนๆ สามารถ drop ICMP Echo Reply ซงใน กรณนควร drop ICMP Echo Reply ทสงเขามาโดยไมไดมการ สง ICMP Echo Request ออกไปกอน ซงการทำงานลกษณะนอาจจะทำใหอปกรณ packet filtering ใชทรพยากรเพมขน และในกรณทเกดการโจมตขนแลวยงสามารถบลอก source IP address ของ ICMP Echo Reply ได เพราะผโจมตไมสามารถเปลยนแปลงขอมลสวนนได

สำหรบผดแลระบบทวไปควรปองกนไมใหระบบของตวเองถกใช เปน amplifier โดยการไมตอบสนองตอแพคเกตทสงเขามายง broadcast address ซงมวธการแกไขแยกตามระบบท http://www.pentics.net/denial-of-service/white-papers/smurf.cgi

5. Fraggle

รายละเอยด

เปนอกรปแบบหนงของการโจมตแบบ Smurf โดยผโจมตจะสง UDP Echo Request (UDP port 7) ไปยง broadcast address ของ amplifier network โดยปลอม source IP address ไปเปน IP address ของเปาหมาย ซงทำใหมการใชงานแบนดวดธอยาง เตมท และ/หรอทำใหมการใชทรพยากรของเปาหมายจนหมด ไป ซงการโจมตยงสามารถใชไดกบ UDP, TCP services อน

เชน Chargen อกดวย

การปองกน

สามารถปองกนไดคลายๆ กบการปองกนการโจมตแบบ Smurf attack โดยใชเราเตอรหรออปกรณกรองแพคเกตอนๆ drop แพคเกต UDP/TCP ทใชโจมตเขามา หรออาจจะใชวธบลอก source IP address ไดเชนเดยวกน

สำหรบผดแลระบบทวไปควรปองกนไมใหระบบของตวเองถก ใชเปน amplifier โดยการไมตอบสนองตอแพคเกตทสงเขามายง broadcast address ซงมวธการแกไขแยกตามระบบท http://www.pentics.net/denial-of-service/white-papers/smurf.cgi

อยางไรกตามผดแลระบบควรยกเลกการใชงาน UDP, TCP service บางตวเชน Echo, Chargen, Discard ซงไมมความ จำเปนในการใชงานอกแลว ซงสำหรบเราเตอรของ Cisco แลว สามารถใชคำสงดานลางนเพอยกเลกบรการดงกลาว

6. การโจมตรปแบบอนๆ

การโจมตรปแบบอนๆ สามารถเกดขนได จำเปนตองมการ ตรวจสอบและปองกนแกไขตามเหตการณทเกดขน

คำแนะนำทวไป

• จดหาแบนดวดธใหมากกวาความตองการใชงานยามปกต

• สรางระบบสำรองทงระบบเครอขายและระบบของเครอง ใหบรการ

• ถาเปนไปไดพยายามแยก traffic ใหออกจากกนใหได เชน ใช ISP คนละแหงกนสำหรบลงคไปยง web server และลงค เพอใชงานอนเทอรเนต

• ตดตอ network service provider ในเรองการนำระบบ

• ปองกนการปลอมแปลง IP address โดยกรองแพคเกตทมาจากภายนอกและม source IP address ตรงกนกบ IP address ในระบบเครอขายของตนเอง

4. Smurf

Detail

In such an attack, a perpetrator sends a large amount of ICMP echo requests traffic to IP broadcast addresses, all of which having a spoofed source address of the intended target and extremely consume the bandwidth.

Prevention

Just like the ICMP flood attack, routers and other packets filtering device can drop down ICMP Echo Reply. In such case, the device should drop the incoming ICMP Echo Reply that is received without sending an ICMP Echo Request, which make the packets filtering device consume more resource. If you find the attack, you can block source IP address of the ICMP Echo Reply, the sender can’t change this information.

The network administrators should prevent their system from becoming an amplifier by not responding to the packets sent to a broadcast address. For more instruction, see http://www.pentics.net/denial-of-service/white-papers/smurf.cgi.

5. Fraggle

Description

Fraggle is another type of Smurf. The attacker will send UDP Echo Request (UDP port 7) to the amplifier network’s broadcast address by send fake IPs as itself as the target’s IP address and consume bandwidth and resource. This may also attack UDP and other TCP services, such as Chargen.

Prevention

To prevent this threat is to use a router or other packets filtering device to drop the UDP/TCP packets or block the source IP address.

The network administrators should prevent their system from becoming an amplifier by not responding to the packets sent to a broadcast address. For more instruction, see http://www.pentics.net/denial-of-service/white-papers/smurf.cgi

However, the administrator should stop using some UDP and TCP service, such as UDP, TCP service, which is not necessary to use. If you are using Cisco router, you can use these command to terminate the services.

6. Other attacks

You may also experience other forms of attack. They require further investigation, protection solution.

General Instruction.

• Increase bandwidth

• Back up the network system and your PCs.

• If possible, try to separate traffic. For example, use different ISP to connect to web server and Internet bandwidth consumption.

• Contact your network service provider to find out how to protect DoS.

• Filtering an unwanted data.

• Filter private IP addresses, ie 10.0.0.0/8 172.16.0.0/12 192.168.0.0/16

• Filter broadcast addresses that end with .��� or. 0.

• Filter loopback address(127.0.0.0/8)

• Prevent the counterfeited IP by filtering the external packets that have the same source IP Address as the IP in your system.

Health Care column in July is going to discuss an office workers’

hot hit disease, the Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD.) This

deceased is caused by an abnormal reflux in the esophagus. Most

of the reflux are stomach acid. The others could be intestinal juice

in a small intestine. Symptoms of GERD are similar to the gastritis. A

patient will have flatulence an believe that he or she got a gastritis,

then take a most-often-prescribed antacid which is not effective

enough to cure the decease and prolong time.

Causes of GERD could be a caused by a failure of the cardia, This is

primary cause of the disease. Others are pressure in upper esopha-

geal sphincter lower than normal people, or the esophagus enters

the stomach, increasing stomach acid reflux, abnormal peristalsis,

bacteria or genetic.

Symptoms of GERD are burning chest pains or Water brash, which

is you might feel bitter water in your mouth. This might get worse

after the main meals. This symptom causes sinusitis, serious wound,

Oesophageal atresia, the change in esophagus cell condition and

may lead to Esophagus cancer.

The treatment to cure GERD is to change you lifestyle, drugs, mini-

mally invasive surgery, and operation. The easiest way is to change

you lifestyle. These factors are considered to promote gastroesopha-

geal reflux.

• Coffee and smoking, soda drinks, juice or with are to sour, to

spicy, high fat food and chocolate.

• Tea, coffee

• Overweight

• Eat too much in each meal, especially dinner and you should

wait for at least � hours to go to bed.

• Position of your body when sleeping. You should sleep on left

side as it and at lease 6-inch-high pillow as it decreases num-

bers of sphincter slacking.

• Too tight clothes

• Workout continually

QoS (Quality of Service) คออะไร

What is QoS (Quality of Service)?

QoS is a process that classify traffics in network and manage each traffic by not effecting core network operation.

Why QoS?

• To make sure that there is sufficient bandwidth

• To be a solution for timeout based failure

• To ensuring the network performance required for applications that consume bandwidth

• To control bandwidth quality

The QoS classify data from Source IP Address by using Access Control List to filter data type. Then it creates policy to allocate bandwidth on the Gigabit Ethernet Link to each type of data, such as e-mail, websites usage, VoIP and VDO conference. It guarantees bandwidth for each group of data and you can optimize the bandwidth at its utmost capacity.

QoS คอกระบวนการตางๆ ททำใหสามารถ แยกชนดของ Traffic ใน Network และนำ มาจดการกบ Traffic ทเกดขนในรปแบบตางๆ โดยไมมผลกระทบตอประสทธภาพโดยรวมของ Network

ทำไมตองมการทำ QoS

• แกปญหาจาก Bandwidth ไมเพยงพอ

• แกปญหาการคอยของขอมลจนเกด time out

• สำหรบ Application ทใช Bandwidth มาก QOS จะจดการตรงนได
