    Purpose,andwhytheseeffectsareinteresting:Theseeffectsshowhowtheperceptionofthesame

    localpathscanbeinterpretedasdifferentglobalstructures.Ourperception,therefore,dependsuponthestatisticalrelationshipbetweenmotionelements,notjustuponthemotionoftheindividual

    elements.Inthefinalexample(TusiorNotTusi),weshowhowattentioncanswitchbetweentwo

    differentglobalperceptseventhoughbothtypesofmotionarepresent.
