31st Sunday in Ordinary Time
Find the Missal (Ordinary of the Mass) at 150 in Oramos Cantando/We Pray in Song
First Reading WIS 6:12-16
Resplendent and unfading is wisdom, and she is readily perceived by those who love her, and found by those who seek her. She hastens
to make herself known in anticipation of their desire; Whoever watches for her at dawn shall not be disappointed, for he shall find her
sitting by his gate. For taking thought of wisdom is the perfection of prudence, and whoever for her sake keeps vigil shall quickly be free
from care; because she makes her own rounds, seeking those worthy of her, and graciously appears to them in the ways, and meets them
with all solicitude.
Responsorial Psalm PS 63 R. My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God.
Second Reading 1 THES 4:13-18
We do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, about those who have fallen asleep, so that you may not grieve like the rest, who
have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose, so too will God, through Jesus, bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
Indeed, we tell you this, on the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not precede
those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself, with a word of command, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of
God, will come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together
with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore, console one another with these
words.
Gospel MT 25:1-13
Jesus told his disciples this parable: "The kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the
bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones, when taking their lamps, brought no oil with them, but the
wise brought flasks of oil with their lamps. Since the bridegroom was long delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight,
there was a cry, 'Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish
ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' But the wise ones replied, 'No, for there may not be enough
for us and you. Go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.' While they went off to buy it, the bridegroom came and those
who were ready went into the wedding feast with him. Then the door was locked. Afterwards the other virgins came and said, 'Lord,
Lord, open the door for us!' But he said in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, I do not know you.' Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither
the day nor the hour."
El Misal (Ordinario de la Misa) esta en Oramos Cantando/We Pray in Song a Partir de 150
Primera lectura Sab 6, 12-16
Consuélense, pues, unos a
otros con estas palabras.
Evangelio Mt 25, 1-13
hora''.

Requiem – The Souls in Purgatory: The month of November
is traditionally when we pray for the suffering
faithful in Purgatory, where they are purified to
enter the presence of God. United to them by our
Baptism, it is our great privilege to shorten the
time of separation from God by prayers, good
works, and especially the Eucharist.

The Chore Coupon Project emphasizes SERVICE as part of “Living as Missionary Disciples” and an element of
stewardship. Chore Coupons encourage children to give from their abilities and time (time and talent): they choose with Mom or
Dad a task which they can do (not on their usual chore list) and how many times. When it’s completed, Mom/Dad signs the
coupon; the child puts it in the Sunday collection, as adults put in donations. — Chore Coupon BRAG REPORT (21 received) –

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Dear brothers and sisters,
In the first Reading today, we hear about how the Wisdom of God searches us out and the door through which she
enters is our conscience. The Examination of Conscience opens the door wide and I would encourage you to
make it a daily part of your prayer. It is part of Night Prayer in the Liturgy of Hour which is found as an insert
elsewhere in the bulletin. A simple guide to making a daily examination is based upon the Spiritual Exercises of
St. Ignatius and has five steps:
1. Place yourself in God's presence. Give thanks for God's great love for you.
2. Pray for the grace to understand how God is acting in your life.
3. Review your day — recall specific moments and your feelings at the time.
4. Reflect on what you did, said, or thought in those instances. Were you drawing closer to God, or further away?
5. Look toward tomorrow — think of how you might collaborate more effectively with God's plan.
May Wisdom find us and transform us more perfectly into the image of Christ.
Fr. Joe
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Queridos hermanos y hermanas:
En la primera lectura de hoy, escuchamos cómo la Sabiduría de Dios nos busca y la puerta por la cual ella entra es
nuestra conciencia. El Examen de Conciencia abre la puerta de par en par. Yo te animo a que lo conviertas en una
parte diaria de tu oración. Es parte de las Completas en la Liturgia de Las Horas, que se encuentra como una
inserción en otro lugar del boletín. Una guía simple para hacer un examen diario se basa en los Ejercicios
Espirituales de San Ignacio y tiene cinco pasos:
Póngase en presencia de Dios. Dé gracias por el inmenso amor que Dios tiene por usted.
Rece por la gracia de entender de qué manera Dios está actuando en su vida.
Revise su día. Recuerde momentos específicos y los sentimientos en esos momentos.
Reflexione acerca de qué hizo, dijo o pensó en esas instancias. ¿Sintió que se acercaba más a Dios? ¿O que se
alejaba más de Él?
Piense en mañana – y en cómo podría colaborar más efectivamente con el plan de Dios.
Que la Sabiduría nos encuentre y nos transforme más perfectamente a la imagen de Cristo.
P. Joe
