Why EVM? Summarizing the previous discussion, following

are the reasons to go for an EVM Complains from citizens and political parties

about the election being unfair Staff required at the polling station Cost

Ballot papers, boxes, pay of staff etc Counting of votes by people, therefore can easily

be manipulate Staff at polling booth can influence results Time

It takes too much time to compile the result

Cheap According the statistics provided by the Election

Commission of Pakistan, for a Local Government election there are total 2,08,089 polling booths in the country and staff required on the field is 8.5 million

For an EVM there will be only one person required at each polling booth, therefore the staff required will be 0.208 million

97.5% reduction in the staff

Billion of rupees spent on ballot papers and boxes will be saved
