Philippians 2: 14-16
14. Do all things without complaining and disputing,
15. that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
16. holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.”
15. (so) that you may become
blameless and harmless, children of
God without fault in the midst of a
crooked and perverse
generation, among whom you shine as
lights in the world,
Ask me:
• How is this crooked and perverse
generation affecting you?
14. ???
15. (so) that you may become
blameless and harmless, children of
God without fault in the midst of a
crooked and perverse
generation, among whom you shine as
lights in the world,
14. Do all things without complaining
and disputing…
15. (so) that
○ you may become blameless and harmless
○ children of God without fault
○ (in the midst of a crooked and perverse
generation
○ among whom you shine as lights in the world)
Ask me…
Are there things that in me/our local
church that cause you to complain? Are
there things you would want to dispute?
Are there things that create so much
“angst” in your spirit, that you’ve lost
the ability to love?
Are you able to forgive?
“Be angry and do not sin; do not let the
sun go down on your anger, and give no
opportunity to the devil.” (Eph 4:26-27
ESV)
16. holding fast the word of life =
Jesus
Ask me…
○ What keeps you from being able to hold fast
the word of life = Jesus?
16. “so that I may rejoice in the day of
Christ that I have not run in vain or
labored in vain.”
Ask me…
Do you feel like you are running in vain
or laboring in vain? How can I / our
church run alongside you in what you’re
doing?
Do you have anything to rejoice over or
are things looking pretty bleak right
now?
