東區區議會及公眾普遍支持盡快興建《第二階段社區參與》擬議的10米闊的行人板道。
同時，亦有聲音要求擬議走線應盡量利用東區走廊下的空間
普遍支持單車徑、觀景台、活動點及釣魚平台的設置
應提供充足的空間，以照顧行人、單車使用者及其他人士進行不同活動的需要和安全
需要增加更多板道與內陸的連接點

全條擬議板道增加至最少10米闊，不但便利不同活動進行，也有助行人和單車使用者於不同區域享用板道
擬議板道一方面會爭取露天採光設計，同時會利用東區走廊結構下之現有空間
擬議板道全長約1.7公里，約400米會建於東區走廊結構以外，以爭取採光，餘下的1.3公里則建於東區走廊結構下，善用現有空間
