Comments from students on visiting Vocational Training Center for Persons
with Disabilities and Monastery
I was surprised that the employment rate for the people at this training center seemed higher than Japan after
listening to the lecture. Monastery would save the children who cannot go to school and study.
It could be great that all the people with disability can take training at vocational training center. Also, it was very precious
experience to visit monastery to see how children were learning in Myanmar.
I visited another monastery with host family during homestay. I was impressed that host family prepared foods for
couple hundred people over there.
After visiting monastery, it made me think about the importance of education, and gaining knowledge could be the first step to
make the entire society better. I would like to support these children living in this kind of circumstance.

We need to effort finding value of each countries
culture in the future. In order to do that, we
should have the opportunity to know many
other countries culture. I think that each
individual’s try to understand different countries
is very important...
I could learn many things such as lifestyle and
custom from exchange with Japanese students.
2 days homestay program has been past very
quickly. I’m looking forward to see them in
February in Japan...

VII. Comments from Participants : (Quotes from speech and feedback form)
In the homestay, the host family treats me very kindly. I was a little worried
about communication, but I was surprised that I could communicate using
gestures and talking with just words. Through two-day homestay, I felt it’s
important to actively engage in anything...
Japanese Students
Until I joined this program, I was worried about experiencing different
cultures and foods. However, I went to Myanmar and exposed to Myanmar
culture and eating Myanmar food, gradually started to like Myanmar. I
learned that it’s important of what I actually experience without prejudice...
I have gained precious knowledge from Noboribetsu Akebi students. I have
also created a very wonderful and firm relationship between my partner and
me. And I’ve known how Japanese students live in their lifestyle and what
they think about us. We have the chance to be friendly with all Japanese
students because of the trip to Nay Pyi Taw. I’m very much willing to meet
with all together again in February...
Myanmar Students
I gained much knowledge about some of Japanese traditions such as the
foods, costumes and many more. I also learn how to communicate with
people especially with the students from the foreign countries. I think that
the homestay program is pretty short. We don’t have enough time to show
some of the places in Yangon...
Visiting vocational training center for persons with disabilities and
monastery, I was able to feel the difference between rich and poor in
Myanmar. Also I felt that all students in Myanmar learning earnestly,
Japanese students should learn from them. I think that both Myanmar and
Japanese students deepened ties with relationship...
Teachers
Courtesy visits, Welcome party at Embassy of Japan in Myanmar and school
experience are very valuable experience for them to develop internationally.
When pairing with Myanmar students, I think we better memorize easy
Myanmar greetings makes them good impression...
