ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੇ ਕਾਨਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਨਿ ਜਲਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥

God has pulled me out of the ocean of

fire, and quenched my burning thirst. 814

ਮਿ ਨਪ੍ਆਨਰਆ ਜੀਉ ਨਮਤਰਾ ਨਬਖੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ ॥

O dear beloved mind, my friend, the world is

an ocean of poison. 79

This path of Liv is the path

of Saints, now is the time

to begin the journey. ਮੋਨਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਤਸੰਨਗ ਮਿੁ ਜਾਗਾ॥781

I am worthless, O my

Beloved, ocean of peace. In the Saints' Congregation, my mind is awakened

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸਚੀ ਨਲਵ ਲਾਏ ॥

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they enshrine

Love for the True

one.

ਿਮ ਡੋਲਤ ਬੇੜੀ ਪ੍ਾਪ੍ ਿਰੀ ਿੈ ਪ੍ਵਣੁ ਲਗੈ ਮਤੁ ਜਾਈ ॥

My boat is wobbly and unsteady; it is

filled with sins. The wind is rising - what

if it tips over? 878

ਨਬਿੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੈ ਮਿੁ ਿਿੀ ਠਉਰਾ ॥

Without the Guru's Shabad,

the mind finds no place of

rest

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਨਦ ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਨਖ ਿਵਜਲੁ ਤਰਣਾ

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the

Gurmukh remains dead while yet alive, and

swims across the Bhavsagar. ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਿਨਰ ਪ੍ਾਈਐ ਨਬਿੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਿਰਨਮ ਿੁਲਾਇ

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the

Lord is found; without the Shabad, people

wander, deceived by doubt. ||1|

ਰਮਈਆ ਜਪ੍ਿੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਅਿਤ ਜੀਵਣ ਬਾਣੀ ਇਿ ਨਬਨਿ ਿਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਣਾ ॥੨॥

By Japing on the Lord, O mortal

being, through the Word of His Bani; you

shall be blessed with eternal life. In this way,

shall you cross over the

Bhavsagar. ||2|| 92

ਿਾਨਿ ਪ੍ਵਿੁ ਘਨਰ ਆਸਨਣ ਬੈਸੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਨਖ ਖੋਜਤ ਤਤ ੁਲਿੈ ॥

The breath is seated in the home of the

navel; the Gurmukh searches, and finds the essence of reality. 945

ਿਾਨਿ ਕਮਲ ਅਸਥੰਿੁ ਿ ਿੋਤੋ ਤਾ ਪ੍ਵਿੁ ਕਵਿ ਘਨਰ ਸਿਤਾ ॥

When there was no support of the navel lotus, then in which home did the breath reside? 945

ਿਾਨਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਅਸਥੰਿੁ ਿ ਿੋਤੋ ਤਾ ਨਿਜ ਘਨਰ ਬਸਤਉ ਪ੍ਵਿੁ ਅਿਰਾਗੀ ॥

When there was no support of the lotus of the navel, the breath remained in its own home, attuned to the Lord's Love. 945

ਰਨਵ ਸਨਸ ਲਉਕੇ ਇਿੁ ਤਿੁ ਨਕੰਗੁਰੀ ਵਾਜੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਨਿਰਾਰੀ ॥੭॥

The right and left nostrils, the sun and the

moon channels, are the strings of the body-

harp; they vibrate the wondrous melody of

the Shabad. ||7|| 907

ਿੰਸੁ ਿੇਤੁ ਲੋਿੁ ਕੋਪ੍ੁ ਚਾਰੇ ਿਦੀਆ ਅਨਗ ॥ ਪ੍ਵਨਿ ਦਝਨਿ ਿਾਿਕਾ ਤਰੀਐ ਕਰਮੀ ਲਨਗ ॥੨॥ Cruelty, material

attachment, greed and anger are the

four rivers of fire. Falling into them,

one is burned, O Nanak! One is

saved only by holding tight to good deeds.

||2|| 147

ਮਿ ਕਮੀਿ ਕਮਤਰੀਿ ਤੂ ਦਰੀਆਉ ਖੁਦਾਇਆ ॥ I am meek and lowly; You are

the great river.

ਏਕੁ ਚੀਜੁ ਮੁਝੈ ਦੇਨਿ ਅਵਰ ਜਿਰ ਚੀਜ ਿ ਿਾਇਆ ॥ Please, bless me with the

one thing; everything else is

poison, and does not tempt me.1291

ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਿਨਰ ਿਾਮੁ ਿੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਨਖ ਪ੍ਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥

The Name of the Lord is the Ocean of

Peace; the Gurmukhs obtain it. 29
