10 Reasons You Shouldn’t Source Talent from Just One Place

poem/list a I  hope  it  rhymes!

Some people source talent from only one place. That’s a rookie mistake.

I  only  source  talent  from  LinkedIn.   Noob.

One source, however great, should never be the sole ingredient in your talent sourcing cake.

Looks  delicious!

Made  with  over  20  different  blogs,  sites,  and  social

networks!

And now for 10 reasons why

Hi.

1) Using only one talent

source makes you miss

talented people in other places

I  haven’t  found  ninjas  anywhere.  How’d  you  find

them?

Just  look  at  the  online  Ninja  Boards  dude!

pow!

pow!

pow!

2) Talented people blog – don’t forget it or you’ll never see their faces

If  you’d  read  my  blog  you’d  know  I’m  an  expert  in  5

different  programming  languages.

3) Talented people also Pin, Tweet, Post, and Share

Tweet!  Tweet!  Tweet!

Is  he  flying?

No,  he’s  tweeMng  about  his    markeMng

knowledge!  Let’s  hire  him!

4) Talented people share their skills, ideas, and dreams

everywhere

I  saw  your  page  with  artsy  food  drawings  -‐  want  to  join  my  design  team?

Sounds  cool!

5) Talented people create unique online communities about their hobbies and

passions

There  are  going  to  be  so  many  car  experts  at

the  red  bus  rally!

6) And each country and culture has a different social network that’s

in fashion

Here  in  Circleton  we  love  to  use  CircleSpace.

Most  of  my  friends  use  TriTalent.

7) The more sources you have the more you can

drill down to unique skills that

are the best

I  really  need  to  stop  ignoring  the  Ninja

Boards.

8) And the more referrals you can request

Of  course!

Can  you  tweet  to  see  if  anyone

wants  to  join  you  at  your  new  job?

9) Finding one candidate from multiple outlets helps you learn about their work

AND things they like to do

I  see  you  like  yoga.  Our

company  has  a  special

yoga  room!

Consider  me  hired!

10) Sourcing through

multiple outlets helps people to find you too!

I  saw  on  the  Ninja  Boards  that  you  were  looking  for  ninjas.  Need  anymore?

We  sure  do!

Dang  it!

Once you have all these sources you’ll need a place to store them, share them, and keep them balanced. You’ll need

It’s  the  bomb

You  made  a  rhyme!
