Glycyrrhetic acid, the metabolite of

Glycyrrhizin can inhibit 11-

betahydroxy steroid dehydrogenase in

kidney & thereby cause

pseudoaldosteronism resulting in

hypertension, hypokalemic myopathy,

arrythmia & cardiac arrest
