that their unilateral surrender policieswould do more than merely transormHezbollah and Hamas into liberal

democrats. Tey said that by cuttingand running, Israel would earn thelove o the international community, and winning the love o the likes oWashington and Brussels, they said, was the most urgent item on Israelsagenda.

Apparently Barak was reerringto the same imperative when onWednesday he said that Israel needs toact ast because, We are on borrowedtime. We will reach a wall, and wellpay the price.

So yes, Hezbollah has taken overnot just south Lebanon, but all oLebanon. And true, there is no onein the Palestinian Authority todaywho is willing to accept the continuedexistence o Israel in any borders. Butthat just means we need the West tolove us even more. And the only wayto get the West to love us is by imper-iling our very existence by handingour heartland over to people who wishto destroy our country.

A Nord Stream naturalgas pipeline is possible, commentsrom German Chancellor AngelaMerkel and Russian President Vladi-mir Putin have indicated.

Merkel and Putin, in talks last weekin Berlin, discussed the possibility o

doubling the capacity o Nord Streamto include third and ourth lines run-ning under the Baltic Sea.

Merkel indicated earlier in the weekduring a summit o the Baltic Seanations in Stralsund, Germany, thatopposition to the project rom thosein her country who ear increasing de-pendence on Russian gas supplies waswaning. Merkel said the controversyover the Nord Stream project hasmore or less settled again and praisedit as one actor in ensuring secureenergy supplies or Europe, an officialstatement said.

    Putin also voiced optimism ol-

lowing talks with Merkel Friday inBerlin, saying more gas via NordStream wouldnt make Germany more

dependent on Russian supplies butwould replace waning current sourcesin the North Sea, R elevision re-ported.

Te Russian president said therewere also other potential customersor an expanded Nord Stream. Youknow that gas through this transitcorridor will be delivered not just to

Germany, but other countries as well, with Scandinavian countries and theUK currently negotiating, he said.

Te first o Nord Streams twoparallel pipelines shipping Russiangas to Germany via the Baltic becameoperational in November. Te sec-ond has been laid and is expected tocome online late this year. ogether, the -mile pipelines are expectedto provide billion cubic meters onatural gas per year to European users, allowing Russia to bypass Ukraine asa transiting country or some o its gasproduction.

G set up a cyberwarare unit designed tocarry out offensive operations, the countrys deenseministry has admitted or the first time in a parliamentaryreport to legislators.

According to German reports, the Bonn-based Comput-er Network Operations () unit had existed since but was only now being readied or deployment under thecontrol o the countrys military.

Te initial capacity to oper-ate in hostile networks has beenachieved, a German press agencyreported the brie document assaying. Te unit had already con-ducted closed lab simulations ocyberattacks.

Although the German admis-sion is not a huge surprisemost

countries are assumed to havecyberoffensive capabilitiestheclear declaration that the hasan attack role has reportedly caused controversy among thecountrys legislators.

Te ambiguities are legion. Does the military have thelegal or constitutional authority to launch cyberattacks

against third parties without the approval o Parliament, and, i so, under what circumstances?

Unlike physical attacks, cyberweapons cant be isolatedrom their surroundings with the same degree o certainty.

I, as a growing body o evidence suggests, the U.S. govern-ment sanctioned the use o cyber-malware such as Stuxnet, are the authorities also held responsible should such cam-

paigns hit unintended victims?Stuxnet caused widespread

disruption not only or its osten-sible target Iran but many others, including companies based instates allied to the U.S.

Germany has long been knownor its Bundestrojaner (Fed-eral rojan) sofware, policeeavesdropping malware used by

several states to monitor crimi-nal suspects by infiltrating theircomputers.

In at least one case, this sofware was used inappro-priately by an officer or personal reasons, leading (it isbelieved) to the compromise and disruption o a Germanpolice system.

Sel-sacrifice built the British peoples into the greatestempire on Earth. Te great pioneering spirit o help-thy-neighbor built America into the greatest single nation inhistory. O the qualities I love the mostabout Britains royal amily is itstendency to inspire a majestic, unpar-alleled hope. I you happened to catchthe moment Queen Elizabeth took

the stage outside Buckingham Palaceon Monday night to celebrate her Dia-mond Jubilee, youll know what I mean.

Tis weeks celebrations urnished a ew moments likethis, moments in which the pomp and pageantry createdthe sense that something larger, something more specialand impressive than merely the celebration o the Queens years on the throne, was permeating the estivities.

It was all stirring: the magnificent armada o boats onthe Tames on Sunday; the sea o red and blue, and flut-tering Union Jacks that filled the city streets; the fireworks;the guards (and others) dressed in elaborate, quintessen-tially English attire; the spine-tingling pierce

o trumpets echoing through Londonscobbled lanes; the throng o patriotic Englishsinging, in unison, over and over, God savethe Queen.

But it elt as i these tangibles were hints osome deeper, larger, intangible reality.

Tere were times even Queen Elizabeth , an extraordi-nary, selfless lady worthy o respect and admiration, seemedmore like a spectatortransfixed along with the masses on alarger realitythan the heroine at the center o it all. Tis isnot to marginalize Queen Elizabeth, her impressive tenureas Britains queen, or the monarchy. Its just that there were

moments when you couldnt help but eel that somethinggreater than Elizabeth and the royal amily was on display.Something visceral, unquantifiabledeeply spiritual. You could sense it in the moment when Queen Elizabeth

graced the stage on Monday. She didnt speak, and it wasntthe salutary words by Prince Charles. Rather, it was the sighto hundreds o thousands o British, with millions morewatching rom home, setting aside their disagreements, theirtrials and tribulations, and joyully, tearully fixating or afleeting moment on their queen. It was the picture o virtu-ally an entire nation stopping what it was doing and singing,in splendid unity, with gusto and a spirit o patriotism manythought was dead, God save the Queen, God save the Queen.

o ully appreciate what Im talking about, take a ewmoments to read Kings . Here, King David, the amousking o Israel, is about to die. Beore he dies, however, he or-chestrates the coronation o his young son, Solomon, as hisreplacement as king over Israel. Following young Solomonscoronation, the people o Israel react with a magnificent dis-play o loyalty and patriotism: And they blew the trumpet;and all the peoples said, God save king Solomon (verse ).

Imagine that. Here we are,, years afer Solomons coro-nation,and we have a people still singing God save the king.

For me, it was the moment afer the Queen placed a

symbolic, large diamond in the cradle to light the last o, beacons that gripped my heart. At first, theres anawkward silence as the crowd noise dwindles and the Queenlooks on in anticipation. Ten, afer what seems like aneternity, you hear the distinct, gripping introduction o the

greatest coronation anthem ever composed. It starts off qui-et, but soon gets louder, and louder, and louder, till finallythe orchestra, the choirat exactly the same time fireworksbegin exploding over Buckingham Palacethunders theamous rerain, Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet.

Its not just the general scene, the music, the rapturouscrowd, the fireworks. Its the words and vision. In Kings:-, King David gave specific instructions about whoGod wanted to crown his son Solomon. ake with you theservants o your lord, and cause Solomon my son to rideupon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon. Andlet Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him

there king over Israel. Within a ew hours,

    it says in verse , Z [] S.

During a recent interview with the ,the archbishop o Canterbury recalledElizabeths June coronation an she wasanointed by consecrated oiljust as Old es-

tament Kings had been .urn, yet again, to the corona-tion o Solomon beside the Gihon Spring. And Zadok thepriest took an horn o oil out o the tabernacle, and anointedSolomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the peoplesaid, God save king Solomon.

Its all pretty phenomenal, when you think on it. Te way

Britain has unknowingly yet enthusiastically orchestrated ascene remarkably similar to the coronation o King Solo-mon in ancient Jerusalem, years ago!

Is this coincidence? Or is it possible the reason Britaincontinues these traditions is because the British royal amilytoday is actually descended rom King David? ake a ewmoments to dwell on Gods promise to King David in Sam-uel . God tells the king that when thy days be ulfilled, andthou shalt sleep with thy athers, I will set up thy seed aferthee, which shall proceed out o thy bowels, and I will estab-lish his kingdom. God is talking about Solomon. In verse ,God says o Solomon, He shall build an house or my name, and I will stablish the throne o his kingdom or ever.

You see, beginning with his son Solomon, David wouldalways, orever, have a descendant ruling as a monarchover Israel! o those with an objective mind, events likethis weeks Diamond Jubilee celebrationwhich are filledwith biblically significant symbolismprove a perect op-portunity to get a glimpse at the stunning royal heritage oBritains monarchy. Ultimately, this is why grand, majesticevents like this weeks Diamond Jubilee are so inspiring andhope-filled: Tey put the spotlight on the throne o David,on the history-altering promise God made to Davidandthe vision o the uture embodied by the British royalty!

Unpleasant social disorder is every-where; in many places, a virtual dusk-to-dawn curew has been imposed on

old people by the drunken disorderthat appalls and disgusts oreigners.

Our police, once a model to the

world, increasingly resemble an alienoccupying army, or ascist militia, estooned with all the apparatus orepression, who inspire ear mainly inthe innocent, and who are bullying yetineffectual.

Te state o the country is parlousin more ways than one. Large areas, once industrial, resemble the So-

viet Union with takeaway pizza. Teonly private enterprise consists oretail chains that recycle governmentsubventions to the unemployed. Te

middle class in such areas is composedalmost entirely o public employeesand proessionals who cater to thesocial problems created by mass un-employment.

Even at the height o the so-calledboom, in , there were . millionpeople claiming to be so ill that theycould not work at all. And thus theBritish benefit system perormed themiracle o causing more invalids thanWorld War . For years British social

and economic policy has been to suckin large amounts o unskilled oreignlabor while maintaining high levels o

indigenous unemployment.Tanks to the state-unded andencouraged destruction o the amily,at least a fifh o children in Britaineat a meal with another member otheir household less ofen than once aweek.

At the start o the Queens reign,Britain led in more than one field. Itinvented the nuclear energy industry,or example; but now, i it wants tobuild nuclear power stations, it hasto apply or assistance rom oreign

countries. Tis is despite the act itspends five times as much per capitaon education as it did at the begin-ning o the reign. Spend more, achieveless: that has been the motto that hasguided successive British governments.

Te country has become deeplycorrupt, but in a typically British way

. Corruption and irresponsibility, indeed, have been legalized: poundsterling billion, or example, hasdisappeared without trace (except or

More than one in sevenhouseholds relies on Social Security.More than one in our has at least one person on Medicaid. One in households has a member relying on unemploy-ment benefits. Tousands more have members on disability.

Add it all up and . percentalmost halo Americalives in a household where at least one member receivessome type o government benefit! Many households receivemore than one government handout.

And i nothing changes, the number is set to soar arhigher. Tere are percent more people (as a percent o

households) reliant on the government today than therewere during the early s. Te recent recession accountsor only a small raction o the gain.

Why is this a disaster?According to author Durham W. Ellis, Greek historian

Alexander yler wrote: A democracy cannot exist as apermanent orm o government. It can only exist until the

voters discover that they can vote themselves money romthe public treasury. From that moment on, the majorityalways votes or the candidates promising the most moneyrom the public treasury, with the result that a democracyalways collapses over loose fiscal policy . (emphasis added

throughout)Not one administration since has balanced its bud-

get (President Clinton included).According to official government statistics, Americas

total ununded liabilities (primarily the amount we havepromised voters in Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare)is now over trillion. But the actuaries at the Insti-tute, using real-world accounting practices that the govern-ment demands businesses use, say the shortall is actuallycloser to . trill ion!

Meanwhile, Americas total (the value o all thegoods and services produced in the entire country or theyear) is only a little over trillion.

USA oday reports that i the government were to actu-ally try to balance its budget, the typical American house-hold would have had to pay nearly all o its income in taxes!Tat is just to balance the budget, never mind paying downthe debt.

Economic collapse is coming to Americawe voted orit. Te only question is how soon.

I days o ancient Israel, Godwas on the lookout or a productive, diligent young man who could oneday replace Saul as king o Israel. TeProphet Samuel was sent to the house

o Jesse, where he was instructed toanoint one o Jesses sons to becomethe new king ( Samuel ).

But as Jesse presented his sevensons, each time God told Samuel that this son was nottheone chosen (verses -). As it happened, Jesse had onemore son who was in the fields tending to the sheep.

In verse , we finally meet Davidthe youngest o eightbrothers. David was a pleasant-looking, average-size youngman who had developed into an outstanding musicianand poet. He was smart and physically strong, spendingmuch o his time in the fields o Judea and ofen sleepingoutdoors. He had developed a balanced and well-rounded

personality, even as a young man.And yet, considering how his ather overlooked him

when Samuel arrived, David certainly wasnt consideredthe star o the amily. But God was impressed with thisyoung mans heart.

Davids rise as a young man coincided with the declineo Saul, who had lost Gods Holy Spirit and was being

harassed by demons. An individual in the kings court whowas well aware o Davids unique skill set suggested Davidcome play soothing music or Saul (verses -).

Tus began a beautiul relationship that ended up reveal-ing so much about Davids character. David was the right-

ul heir to the throne, yet there was not a hint o jealousy orcompetition in the way he treated Saul. In act, he becameone o Sauls most trusted advisers! As long as Saul re-mained king o Israel, David humbly submitted to him.

Tis is why God chose David to be king. David lovedSaul greatly. He people. And he demonstrated thatgodly love by his actions.

David worked aithully to use uplifing, wholesomemusic to drive away the evil spirits that plagued Saul(verses -). o be such an accomplished musician at sucha young age means David must have devoted many hours, days and years o his youth to develop his talents. Daviddidnt waste his youth on trivial things. He was an active,

productive young man who diligently developed all sides ohis personality. Above all, David loved people and strove tolive by the law o God.

Remember the example o this young shepherd boy. Godwas able to take this young manwho ew thought wouldamount to anythingand turn him into a king!

We believe that ongoing loss o biological diversity isdiminishing the ability o ecosystems to sustain human so-cieties, says Andrew Gonzalez, Associate Proessor with theDepartment o Biology and the Quebec Center or Biodiver-sity Science at McGill University and author on the paper.

Weve reached a point where efforts to preserve speciesand biological diversity might no longer be an act o altru-ism, says Diane Srivastava, Proessor with the Departmento Zoology and the Biodiversity Research Center at Univer-sity o British Columbia and author on the paper.

Te balance o evidence reviewed in the study shows

that genetic diversity increases the yield o commercialcrops, enhances the production o wood in tree planta-tions, improves the production o odder in grasslands, andincreases the stability o yields in fisheries. Plant diversityalso contributes to greater resistance to invasion by exoticplants, inhibits plant pathogens such as ungal and viralinections, enhances above-ground carbon sequestrationthrough enhanced biomass, and increases nutrient re-min-eralization and soil organic matter.

    JUNE 9 201212THE TRUMPET WEEKLY

within the nation that has become theabortion capital o Europe.

Last week, a series o events showedthat sex-selective abortion is also tak-ing place in America.

Planned Parenthood is the largestabortion provider in the U.S. Tough

it officially opposes the procedure(Planned Parenthood condemns sex selection motivatedby gender bias, it says on its website), its actions proveotherwise.

Last Tursday, a bill called the Prenatal Nondiscrimi-nation Act passed through the U.S. House o Representa-tives that would have criminalized abortion based on sex.Planned Parenthood actively worked to deeat the legisla-tion. Te White House also opposed it, claiming it was un-necessary government intrusion into medical decisions andprivate amily matters. Tough the bill had solid congres-sional support, receiving a - vote, it ailed to achievethe two-thirds majority required or its passage.

Also last week, at least two different Planned Parenthoodclinics were caught on tape permitting i not promotinggendercide.

Pro-lie advocacy group Live Ac-tion released an undercover video oa Planned Parenthood clinic in Aus-tin, exas, encouraging a woman toabort her baby because it is a girl. Inthe video, a woman posing as a cli-ent claims to be in her first trimesterand asks i she can get an abortion iher baby turns out to be a girl. We

want two. I already have a girl, and we want a boy and girl, she explains.Te Planned Parenthood staffer counsels her to wait un-

til five months into the pregnancy in order to be certain othe babys sex, and then to abort i it is a girl. By that pointit would be a late-term abortion.

Te counselor even advises how the client can scamMedicaid into paying or the ultrasound by pretending shewill carry the child to term. Tis is advice rom an orga-nization that receives nearly million in governmentunding.

In a second video, a Planned Parenthood worker at aNew York City clinic encourages an apparent client who

openly says she plans to abort her pregnancy i it turns outto be a girl. [H]ere at Planned Parenthood we believe thatits not up to us to decide what is a good or a bad reason orsomebody to decide to terminate a pregnancy, the socialworker explains.

A spokesman or the organization told Huffington Postthat no Planned Parenthood clinic will deny a woman anabortion based on her reasons or wanting one, except inthose states that explicitly prohibit sex-selective abortions(Arizona, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Illinois).

So much or condemning such abortions.Te act is that logically, the person who believes

abortion is fine has no reason to oppose sex-based abor-tion. As Mr. Macdonald wrote, Morally, is there reallya distinction between ending a pregnancy because theparent/s dont want a girl, and ending a pregnancy becausethe parent/s simply dont want a child? Either way, the endresult is the termination o an unborn human.I you reallybelieve a etus has no intrinsic moral worth or right to live, then what difference does the sex make?

In act, that is exact ly the argument made by pro-choice advocate All ison Benedikt in this eye-openingSlatearticle, Why Pro-Choicers Should Be OK WithSex-Selection Abortions. Strategically, it makes no senseto give in to this idea that theres somehow something alittle queasier about having an abortion or gender than, say, or money. Tese are equally legitimate reasons, sheexplains. One might make you uncomortable in yourgut, but it cant make the movement hesitate. Because thathesitation makes it that much easier or so many othose other reasons (money, timing, work) to seem a littlenot-OK too.

Also, lets just remember that we are talking about

etuses, she continues. No matter how many ultrasoundpics get posted to Facebook, these are etuses with emalegenitals or male genitalsnot little girls and little boys. Ipro-choicers object to aborting because o the sex o theetus, arent we then saying that abortion is murderinggirls? Arent we basically arguing that a etus is not a blankslate but a uture possibility? Tat is not the case to make iyour goal is to protect abortion rights. Gulp or a second iyou must, then get over it.

Tis is the logicaland dismayingconclusion o theamorality that leads to abortion in the first place: Abso-lutely nothing must stand in the way o the ree, unettered

ability to end a pregnancy whenever and or whateverreason someone chooses.Where do you stand? Pro-choice is a euphemism or

pro-abortion. Have you taken a clear-eyed look at theissue? You can read o the dark alleys that such thinkingleads to in our article A Chilling Peek at Our AbortionCulture.
