READ THE TEXT

The date was July 16, 1969. The men were: Neil Armstrong, Ewing E. Aldring

and Michael Collins. They were the crew to the Apolo XI mission.

Their goal: to land on the moon.

There were two ships, the mother –ship “Columbia” and the lunar module

“Eagle” First, they went to the moon and orbited around it.

Then Armstrong and Aldrin descended on the lunar module to the moon

while Collins remained on the mother ship. Finally, on July 20, 1969,

at 4:17 p.m. the “Eagle” landed on the moon. The two astronauts rested and slept some hours.

Finally, at 10:56 the first human being, Neil Armstrong, stepped on the moon. His first words

were: That´s a small step for a man , one giant leap for mankind. “
