Koh Tao is renowned for its amazing underwater life and natural beauty. Secluded bays and beaches nestle around the island and it is a fun island full of exciting activites and entertainment. It is also one of the busiest diving regions in the world.


จากค�ากลาวขาน นามเกาะเตาตงแตอดตกาล ทยากนกจะมใครสามารถเขาไปใชชวตอยบนเกาะแหงนได “เกาะนรกกลางทะเลฉลาม” จนกระทงเกาะเตาไดกลายเปนแดนสวรรคของนกโทษทางการเมอง ในป 2486 และกลายเปนเกาะในฝนในยคของการทองเทยวทมการอ�านวยความสะดวกในการเดนทางและทพก กลายเปนแหลงด�าน�าของนกด�าน�ามออาชพและทรวมของสถาบน

สอนด�าน�าทมชอเสยงจากทวโลก เปนเกาะมหศจรรย เกาะในจนตนาของผคนทหลงใหลธรรมชาตโลกใตทองทะเล ดงสมญานามวา “เกาะสวรรคกลางอาวไทย เกาะชวนฝนแหงภาคใตฝงตะวนออก สรวงสวรรคมหนตเสนหแหงอาวไทย เมองแมนแดนมรกต สดยอดเกาะแหงทะเลอาวไทย เกาะสวรรค สไพลน มรกตแหงอาวไทย เกาะในฝนสวรรคแหงการทองเทยว ฯลฯ”


In the past, Koh Tao was literally called Hell’s island in a Shark Sea. Then the name slogan was changed tomatch its actual beauty as

“Heavenly island in the mid of the Gulf of The Gulf of Thailand”, “Diving Paradise”, Amazing submarine world in Gulf of Thailand”, “Dream Island by the east coast of the South”, “Heavenly Cham of the Gulf of Thailand”, “Emerald Green Heaven”, “Topmost Island in Gulf of Thailand”, “Island paradise of a deep blue sea” and more.


The coast line of Koh Tao has two geographical types: white sandy beaches and rock beaches. Most of the sandy beaches can be found at the southwest of the island. The rocky beaches are located at the east and north of Koh Tao. Koh Tao is surrounded by fringing reef.

กองหนขาว Kong Hin Kao (White Rock) ระดบน�าลก 8-20 เมตร อดมสมบรณดวยปะการง ปลาหมก squid


เกาะฉลาม Shark Island

กองหนตงก Kong Hin Tung Koo(Southwest Pinnacle) ระดบน�าลก 8-30 เมตร ไดพบกบ ปลาแมงปอง scorpion fish, หอยมอเสอ tiger shells, barracuda, snappers, ฉลามเสอดาว Leopard Shark, วาฬยกษ Majestic Whale Shark

เกาะฉลาม Shark Island ชาวเกาะเรยก กงทรายแดง Kong Sai Daeng ระดบน�าลก 300 เมตร เปนบรเวณทไดพบเหน ฉลามเสอดาว Leopard Shark, ฉลามหด�า Black-trip Reef Shark หากเปนฉลามตวเลกชาวเกาะเรยกวา ฉลามทราย เปนทนยมน�ามาปรงเปนอาหารจานโปรด ท ส� าคญเกาะฉลามเป นทท มปะการงออน กองหนและสงมชวตใตน�าทแตงแตมใหโลกใตทะเลใหมสสนสวยงาม.


กองอาวลก Kong Ao Leuk ระดบน�าลก 6-18 เมตร เปนแหลง ทไดพบเหนเมนทะเล Porcupine, ปลาปกเปา Puffer fish, Pin cushion, ปลาดาว Star fish และเตาทะเล turtles ไดบอยทสด

กองชมพร Chumporn Pinnacle แหลงด�าน�ามหศจรรย และมชอเสยงทสดของเกาะเตา เปนกองหนใตน�าทมขนาดใหญทสด มระดบน�าลก 12-36 เมตร จะไดพบเหน กลปงหา Coralline ปะการงด�า Black Coral ดอกไมทะเล Sea Anemone ปลาการตน clownfish ดงดอกไมทะเล ฝงปลาหชาง ปลากะมง ปลาหมอทะเลขนาด 1 เมตร และสงทพบบอยทสดคอ ฉลามวาฬ Whale Sharks กระเบนราห สตวทะเลอนๆ เชน Barracuda, ปลาทนา tuna, ปลาการตน clownfish, ปลาแมงปอง scorpion fish, ปลาหมกยกษ octopus, ปลาไหล moray eels, ฝงกง many shrimps

Koh Tao is a sub-district of the Phangan district. It consists of 3 villages, they are Ban Haad Sairee, Ban Mae Haad, and Chalok Ban Kao. Koh Tao is 7.5 km in lengthe from north to south and 4.5 km in east-west directions. The total area of the island is about 21.03 sq. km. Koh Tao consists of 3 small islands namely; Koh Tao with 20.7 sq.km, Koh Nangyuan with 0.32 sq. km, and Koh Sai Daeng with only 9600 sq.m.
