Reactions 1351 - 14 May 2011 S Trastuzumab Congestive heart failure: 3 case reports In a retrospective study, three women [ages not stated] developed congestive heart failure following treatment with adjuvant trastuzumab for breast cancer [drug details not provided]. Two patients experienced symptomatic heart failure, while the remaining patient developed persistent decrease in her left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). After withdrawal of trastuzumab, the two women with symptomatic heart failure showed clinical improvement with medical therapy, but their LVEF values remained below 40%.
