Our company strongly unites tradition and progress. Named after Jean Müller who founded the company in 1897, Jean Müller GmbH Elektronische Fabrik has had its head office and main production sites in Eltville am Rhein ever since.

Starting with fuses the product portfolio today comprises low voltage switchgear, switchgear combinations, power distribution components, electronic monitoring and energy management systems.

GL (Germanischer Lloyd)Type testing is mandatory for many products for use in shipbuilding. Many JEAN MÜLLER products carry this Germanischer Lloyd seal of approval. This underlines the products’ high level of reliability in harsh and damp environments.

KTA (German Nuclear Safety Standards Commission)On the basis of the rule KTA 1410 JEAN MÜLLER products meet the requirements of the German Nuclear Safety Stan-dards Commission. This confirms that both the product and the manufacturing process is of such quality that the use of our products in nuclear installations is permitted.

CCC (China Compulsory Certification)It is not permitted to market any products in China unless you have the CCC mark and the Chinese authorities only recognise the test results from test laboratories which they have accredited. JEAN MÜLLER has achieved this through the people it employs locally.

ISO 9001 : 2008 (Quality management)It goes without saying that JEAN MÜLLER has a quality focus and is regularly audited. This is all in the name of safety.

GOST-R (Certificate of conformity)It is mandatory for products imported into the Russian Federation to be certified. Although comparable to the CE certificate of conformity, this certification must be issued by an external certification body.

SASILplus, 2nd generation strip-type switch-disconnector with fuses, is outstanding in offering an extremely high lev-el of technical specification, as for example the contingent short circuit current rating of 120kA and high standards in operability (no special training required) and in safety (contact protection). The accessories available for retrofit-ting provide the required flexibility for your planning and stock holding. The electronics that are available for SASIL-plus as well as in a modular form are future enabled based on simple commissioning and high functionality.

Regional branches provide you with advice across the full breadth of our product range. For quick application-based information advice over the telephone is available for you. In-depth fundamental analyses are provided by our product managers. Our internal sales staff are your first port of call for all issues concerning deliveries and conditions. Our production depth is considerable, from tool design and tool construction to the prefabrication of metal and plastic components and finally to the finished product. We are able to respond to your requirements at all times without the as-sistance of third parties. This is an invaluable benefit for your flexibility particularly in terms of short reaction times.

Production depth

The thermal fuse was invented in 1880. Since then the ther-mal fuse has undergone a rapid development. However, its benefits have remained: maximum switching capacity, precise switching properties and its ability to limit current in case of short circuit are unbeatable arguments for your application to have optimum protection. The increasing use of renewable energies brings with it new requirements that can be met perfectly by the new gPV range of fuses for example.

Fuses

Our low voltage power distributors and cable distribution cabinets provide for the safe distribution of electrical energy for public supply, for both domestic and commercial use. These robust enclosures have been in service for decades in all weathers. Our domestic junction boxes are used through-out Germany for mains connections. The range is completed by different ‘outdoor power’ solutions such as fairground distribution cabinets, metering cabinets and mains connec-tion cabinets. We are happy to also provide you with both fully assembled and tested cabinets as well as solutions tai-lored to your application.

We are the biggest manufacturer internationally of NH fuse-switch-disconnectors and switch-disconnectors and these products have remarkable qualities. In addition, the range of power distribution components includes terminals and the COSMO series of products for 60mm busbar-systems. We have the right product for all your needs.

||| PLVario, the innovative electronic systems utility measures all relevant electrical val-ues, collects these and presents them in the web browser of the network coupler also in graphic format. Setting parameters for the individual measurement modules is very easy using the web browser; no software at all is required. Linking to external control systems and energy management systems is straightforward thanks to ethernet tech-nology. However the biggest added benefit comes from the integration of the electron-ics in the SASILplus switch-disconnector: simple contacting using RJ45 cables removes the need for complex wiring and less space is required in the switching station.

|| A comprehensive range of accessories extends the application range and topics such as smart grid, smart metering as well as remote control are possible and have already been achieved. To be able to retrofit accessories was a particular concern of the design and this now permits the user to reduce his stock to a few basic types and in the case of a new application to even retrofit or replace the converter independently. The app-lications are becoming even more varied: whether for 2-pole DC applications; 3-pole standard industrial distribution systems (also in 60mm busbar system); 4-pole versions in particular for data processing centres; motor driven SASILplus for remote-controlled, automated switching – there is one solution.

| The new “SASILplus” fuse-switch-disconnector from JEAN MÜLLER sets a new bench-mark in the field of strip-type push-in / plug-in technology with respect to switching capacity, operational safety, reliability and flexibility of application. The modular con-figuration in the switching station in the established contact spacing of 25mm makes it easier to design new projects.

|| Fused power distribution components are essential in both the systems of distribu-tion network companies as well as in industrial applications and switchgear in building technology. Demands are ever greater due to higher system loads and increased net-working. JEAN MÜLLER switchgear meets these challenges head on. Its high switching capacities, outstanding short circuit current ratings and innovative add-on components for both measurement and monitoring already guarantee today that you can meet the needs of tomorrow.

| Our success is based on modern and safe NH fuse-switch-disconnectors and strip-type switch-disconnectors as well as sub-components and strip fuses. A high level of automation provides the backbone for large run production and high quality. Our range comprises units from size 00 to size 4a providing NH fuse-switchgear in different op-tions – from 185mm to 100mm and 60mm busbar system up to and including surface mounting. This wide variety of product lines provides an optimum solution for almost every application.

||| In addition to standard versions, the range of different enclosure types enables customer-specific problems to be solved. These enclosures create the right housing for renewable energy use, distributing energy generated in an environmentally friendly way for private consumption or for feeding into the public network. We go beyond of-fering just empty enclosures and working together with our customers and distribution network companies we project design cabinet systems such as current transformer cabinets and feed-in cabinets for renewable energies, using modern components to manufacture these cabinets. Fairground distribution cabinets, metering cabinets and mains connection cabinets complete the product range while domestic mains junction boxes supplying electrical energy into smaller buildings on behalf of the supply net-work provider are also included.

|| Our cable distribution cabinets are manufactured from glass-fibre reinforced poly-ester and suitable for decade long outdoor installation. The material used is noted for its high flame resistance (960°C glow wire test in accordance with DIN EN 60695-2), resistance to acids, high mechanical stability and resistance to weathering. Busbar sys-tems made from tin-plated copper in a range of profiles permit different power carrying capacities up to 1,250A.

| From low voltage distribution in the transformer station to the cable distribution cabinet up to and including the domestic mains junction box: we supply all components neces-sary for safe, reliable and future-enabled power distribution. Our energy distributors are high-grade products, both technically and in terms of quality – being based on more than one hundred years of experience.

||| The fuse element is manufactured from copper or fine silver and largely determines the characteristics and properties of the fuse-link. As a result it is required to meet the most exacting demands in terms of material properties, dimensions and manufacturing precision. High-quality technical ceramics guarantee the necessary temperature and pressure resistance of the insulation body. Ultrapure quartz sand provides a reliable extinguishing agent. The contact system is the electrical connection and ‘disconnector’ to the power distribution components.

|| In addition to their classic application as circuit protection specialised fuses today fulfil many protection tasks. For example fuse-links of the gTr operating class are de-signed for the optimum loading of power supply transformers. Motor protection fuses enable motor power circuits to be protected efficiently. From the start the growing mar-ket for photovoltaic installations has trusted in fuse protection. Extremely fast action fuses are already long established in their use in semi-conductor components.

| The story of JEAN MÜLLER began in 1897 with the production of (thermal) fuses. Our product range is built on current limiting NH fuse-links for the safe management and distribution of energy.

| Consulting and customer focus underpin all our actions. An appropriate point of contact is available for almost every task. Our people in the field are always available locally to provide our customers with help and advice – not only in Germany, but world-wide. Our project design specialists give advice to planners and facility managers. The service team provides support in commissioning and trains our customers’ employees, while we provide fast and proficient application advice over the telephone. Our product managers are ready in the factory as well as on site to discuss complex problems and to develop the best solution working together with our customers. At the same time our internal sales people make the right impression with their precise answers to lead times, conditions and delivery statistics. The range of services is completed by regular regional seminars as well as participation in trade fairs, such as the Hanover Fair, Light & Building and Intersolar.

|| Production comprises not only component manufacture, including busbars and individual plastic parts but also includes product assembly as well. We create system solutions for the construction of cabinets and distribution boards. A prototyping facility complements these resources providing additional flexibility. This enables us to very quickly fulfil even complex customer requests. We are not dependent on external sup-port to do this and provide a quick turnaround in completing the corresponding tasks, a particular advantage when critical to our customers.

| 40 well trained and experienced specialists work in our engineering department making production equipment and tooling. They are responsible for the construction, maintenance and care of the necessary tooling and assembly units which in turn enable our products to be manufactured to an optimum. The plant is continuously updated to the latest technological standards and our tooling engineers are more than happy to be compared with other companies.
