. AND CUSTOMER RESPONSE TO THEM IN THE MARKET”.

PROJECT GUIDE- Prof. Mrs. Preeti Kulkarni
INTRODUCTION-
A Mutual Fund is a trust that pools the savings of a number of investors
who share a common financial goal. The money thus collected is then invested in capital market
instruments such as shares, debentures and other securities.
The income earned through these investments and the capital appreciation realized is shared by
its unit holders in proportion to the number of units owned by them. Those securities are
professionally managed on behalf of the shareholders, and each investor holds a pro rata share of
the portfolio -- entitled to any profits when the securities are sold, but subject to any losses in
value as well. For the individual investor, mutual funds provide the benefit of having someone
else manage your investments, take care of recordkeeping for account, and diversify money over
many different securities that may not be available or affordable to otherwise.
