2013 – Commission to enable bibliometrics

Vetenskapsrådet ska samverka med Kungl. biblioteket i deras uppdrag att vidareutveckla databasen SwePub

Kungl. biblioteket ska i samarbete med Vetenskapsrådet och med universitet och högskolor, genom Sveriges universitets- och högskoleförbund, vidareutveckla databasen SwePub för att möjliggöra och kvalitetsäkra bibliometriska analyser

The Swedish Research Council shall cooperate with the National Library in their assignment to develop the database SwePub

The National Library of Sweden shall in cooperation with the Swedish Research Council and the Association of Swedish Higher Education improve the database SwePub to enable and quality assure bibliometric analyses

2017 – New commissionfrom the government

Regeringen föreslår att 6,5 miljoner kronor överförs från Vetenskapsrådets forskningsanslag till Kungl. bibliotekets anslag fr.o.m. 2017. Varav 3 miljoner kronor avser finansiering av nationellt samordningsuppdrag för öppen tillgång (open access) till vetenskapliga publikationer och 3,5 miljoner kronor avser vidareutveckling av SwePubSwePub ska fungera som en fullgod och heltäckande datakälla för bibliometriska analyser och studier av nationella publiceringsmönsterDe bibliometriska analyser som ett utvecklat SwePubkan ligga till grund för skulle bland annat kunna fungera som underlag för att fördela statliga forskningsmedel.
