DESCRIPTION OF
The Aiken Lake propc:rty is predorainantly lead-zinc-silvex,
while the Menard Cl·eek is predominantly a copper property with additional
values li.'l gold and silver.
Copper minc~..alization occurs at the Menard Cre~1< property in
the forn1 of bornite, chalcocite and minor chalcopyrite both in steeply
dipping shear zonea and as dissemitl2..ted aggregates in and, esitc porpyhyry.
Very littlo pyrite is present. For fUl·thc~ cl\;;t~i1s 'sec prevlous repo.~ts by
the writer, by G. L. :Holbro,,:~~ (1965), and by '.if. G. Stev~nson (1966).

C,O~NCLUSIONSAND RECOM~{'S!'IDATIONS
, Copper minel-alization is widesproad on the Menard Creek prop
C14ty and there is a possibility of finding a large (porphyry type) coppor
deposit 'on th.e claims.
Time did not permit an exploration program on the .Aiken Lake
prope l4ty this season. Work should corltinue to be concentrated 0t?- the
Menard Creek propel-ty but some exploration wOl-k, mairJ.y trenching
an.d/or hydraulicldng, should be dono on the Aik<:n1: Lake property in 1967.
Detailed recommendations are as follows:
1. Fly a, small advance pa14 ty to the Mena.rd Creek property in the
6 pring to el-ect extra buildh1.gs at the base camp in Moose Valley; to build
a small tent camp at the top of the t14 CC line neal- the main copper' showing
OLl the McConnell R~n:;c; for n1~intcn.:lnce and repa.ir work 041 the n"lachi'o:lery
\vhich includes two Caterpillar D6 bulldozers, compressor, 4-\vhecl drive
Unimo~, diesol generators, hydraulic pumps, '8ortable elec~ric welder,
drills ~ etc _; a\'ld to const:ru~t a second, and lOL'lger, airstrip near the
base c~mp (the present ai;:Sl:l-ip is only 1, SOO 'feet long).
2. \Vhen the camps a1'ld runways have b.een completed and the machin-
cry is in good :repair, start bulldoze14 tre\.'lching on the we st side of the
cla.in1s gj;oup.
3. Fly in a 3eologist and the remainder of the crew about June Is".
The c-:.:;w should now consist of the 0xplol-ation manager (M~4. W. D.
Savace;, geologist, two lIeat" men (one to be a r.oochanic al.ld walder),
cook, ~nd spare man ("jack or all trades ").
4. As snow conditions permit, carry out reconnaissance geological
