    Before After

    Lake Orion Family Dentistry

has been a mainstay of the

    community since the 1960s

and over the years the practice

    has earned a reputation for

    comforting patients and working

with those who have a strong

fear of going to the dentist.

The practice has a warm and

    relaxing atmosphere and cutting

    edge technology, which allows

    Dr. Brad Greenfield and Dr.

    Stefani Strange to offer our

    community the most advanced

and painless procedures in the industry.

Our mission is to provide every patient

    with compassionate and innovative care

utilizing the latest technology. We are hereto help people take pride in their smiles, Dr

    Greenfield said.

The practice offers a variety of services

    including preventative and general dentistry,

    childrens dentistry, cosmetic dentistry,

    holistic restorative dentistry, CEREC

    technology, laser dentistry and sedation

dentistry. Dr. Greenfield is also a provider of

Lumineers, which is a conservative and

non-invasive way to improve your smile.

For those people who have a fear of

Dental Care that is warm, relaxing and modern is what patients find at Lake Orion Family Dentistry.

injections, Dr. Greenfield has a nurse

anesthetist on his team to sedate patients

with intravenous sedation. By offering this

service, the nurse can focus on the patientscomfort while I can focus more on the

    procedure, he said.

Dr. Greenfield takes pride in the modern

equipment his office has invested in, his team

    continually looks for advancements in

    technology and procedures. Such

advancements have made it possible for

patients to come in, and in one day leave

with a partial or full crown. State-of-the-art

digital imaging allows computers to design,

mill and finish a perfectly matched crown out

of ceramic. No temporary crowns needed.

Digital imagery is a quantum leap in x-ray

technology. Theres no film or sensors to set

off gag-reflexes and no chemical odor to taintthe office air. Digital imagery makes the

process easier for patients and for retrieving

images in the future. With digital imagery the

amount of radiation used has been

    dramatically decreased.

    Technology has also helped improve

smiles with the use of lasers, instead of using

scalpels. Using lasers to redesign smiles

provides higher precision, is easier on the

soft tissue, and eliminates unwarranted pain.

Dr. Greenfield has also opened the practice

    to holistic dentistry using

    non-reactive materials like low-

    fusing ceramics for restorative

    procedures. He works in

    conjunction with several

    holistic practitioners to provide

    an individualized treatment plan

    to meet the patients needs.

    Dr. Greenfield and his team

    receive hundreds of hours of

training a year, and are always

    finding ways to make their

    practice more open,

    approachable, affordable and

    practical.

The 21st Century has come to dentistry

and to our community with Lake Orion Family

Dentistry. Check out their website,www.drbradgreenfield.com, for innovations

in oral health, to ask questions of Dr.

Greenfield, print coupons, and read about

procedures available. There is also a cool

Kid Zone section to help kids get

    comfortable with dentists.

    For more information call 248-693-6213.

The office is open Mon., Wed., and Thurs,

In the Brandon School District, we take pride in themany outstanding accomplishments of our students. With another wonderful group of seniors in the Class of2014 set to cross the stage at Meadowbrook in June, its important to remember it doesnt matter when you

get herewe have great programs ready for you when-ever you enroll.Brothers Matthew and Steven Jones have attended

Brandon schools since their kindergarten days atHarvey-Swanson. When they exit the stage as co-vale-dictorians in June, they will close a legacy of academicand athletic achievement started by their older brother,Colin, and sister, Kristine.

Katelyn Craghead came to Brandon in third grade, and the senior from Auburn Hills has made the most ofher decision. She is currently the president of the Busi-

ness Professionals of America and competes on thehigh schools Truck Town Thunder robotics team.Nathan Zimmerman came to Brandon High School

as a freshman from a private school in Waterford. Hequickly made himself at home as a member of the soc-cer and track teams. As a senior, he is currently vice-president of the National Honor Society, and he is look-ing forward to majoring in engineering with an empha-sis in computer science at the University of Michiganin Ann Arbor starting next fall.

In my time at Brandon I have been able to accom-

plish so much that in other places I definitely would not

have, said Craghead, who will attend Northern Michi-

gan University in the fall. Between the amazing teach-ers and staff, I cant imagine spending so many hoursanywhere else.

The Brandon School District is proud to welcomestudents who move here or live in a neighboring com-munity and want to take advantage of the renownedprograms and facilities we offer.

This year, the Brandon Virtual School exceeded ourprojected enrollment. Students jumped at the chance totake Advance Placement (AP) courses, honors-levelscience classes, and foreign languages such as Ger-

man, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, and Italian. Our dedi-

cated lab provides students a consistent, comfortableplace to take their classes.

Our varsity sports programs had a dominant winterseason. The poms team took first place in the MidAmerican Pompon State Championship, while our wres-tling and cheerleading teams captured Flint Metro

League titles.Academically, Brandon continues to develop pro-

Metropolitan Tree works full-time, year-round, and stands out from other treecompanies demonstrated by the high ratings and awards received from variousorganizations.

While other tree companies have come andgoneMetropolitan Tree Inc. has continuedto serve the area for more than 47 years. Theremust be a reason.

In addtion to an office in OrtonvilleMet-ropolitan Tree also has a location in Clarkston.

We have worked all over Michigan, saidRon Pepera, owner and community membersince 1960. Id personally like to thank allour loyal customers that have supported usover the past years. We strive to maintain ahigh level of service and provide the highestquality work for a reasonable price.

A member of the Better Business Bureau,Metropolitan Tree and their employees take

pride in the work they do and go out of theirway to protect your property, surroundingtrees and landscape while removing trees and

stumps.Metropolitan Tree has all the skilled man

power, climbers, cranes, aerial lift trucks, chippers, stump grinders, heavy brush mow-ers and equipment to remove large and haz-ardous trees and stumps. From small jobs toland clearing, residential and commercial,Metropolitan Tree takes pride in providing

personal service to all their customers.Owner Pepera, with more than 47 years

    experience, personally supervises all jobs

to make sure they are properly completed

Metropolitan Tree Inc.: Year-round, personal, professional service

and meet each customers expectations. We are fully insured for your peace of

mind, said Pepera. Same full service at dis-count prices.

When you call during business hours, youcan talk to Bonnie and not a machine, 98 per-cent of the time. Special arrangements can bemade for unexpected tree work.

Whether trees pose a danger, become dis-eased or are damaged after a stormthe pro-fessionals at Metropolitan Tree are ready to

    help.

Pepera reminds customers that liability andworkmans compensation insurance isneeded prior to tree cutting or you will beliable for injuries or damages.

In addtion to qualified removal and dis-posal of diseased or infested trees, Metro-politan Tree also does contract work forcounties, local municipalities, building con-tractors, commerical and residential custom-ers.

During the past several years, millions of

area trees have become infested with a vari-

ety of diseases from Dutch Elm disease, toEmerald Ash Borer and recently the Sawyer

beetles that feed on the bark of twigs of sus-ceptible live pine trees.

While the tree may be standingthe rootsrot first underground. If a tree is dead forthree years or more its ready to go over, he

    said.We understand that economically its

tough right now, said Pepera. We can workwith you to set up special conditions for pay-ment. Its much easier to deal with a standingtree now rather than a tree that has fallen onyour home.

Customers should feel confident withMetropolitian Tree and it shows by the greatnumber of referrals from our satisfied cus-tomers. Thank you to all the previous and

current customers that have used our serviceover the yearswe appreciate your business. We are honored to help enhance your prop-erty values and keep the community safe fromhazardous trees.

Great Lakes Independent Insurancetakes the guess work and the hassle outof insurance shopping, says agent/manager, Jim Hutton.

The agency which provides auto, life, homeowners, and commercial insurancehas been in Orion since December 2008.

Though they have been here five year, they have been in business since 1996and were formerly east of Orion. TheOrion location enables Great LakesIndependent to represent many top ratedinsurance companies.

Because Lake Orion is less saturatedwith similar agencies in comparison toother metro-Detroit areas, Great LakesIndependent is attractive to a biggernumber of insurance providers. More

providers mean more rate shopping andlower rates a good thing for customers.

If we were a smaller agency, wewould not be able to represent as manyquality insurance companies as we do,said Hutton. The agency in turn passesthe savings and the convenience of onestop insurance shopping onto itscustomers.

We offer a variety of companies,Hutton said. If one company shifts

markets and is not trending well, wereable to shop a rate for our customers.

Great Lakes Independent Insurance meets all insurance needs

have the same agent working for you dayin and day out, and thats nice, he said.

Hutton comes from a captivebackground in insurance and noted thatwhen rates shifted higher, it was oftenpainful for customers.

Here, we are able to retain customers

at renewal if their current company hasan increase we can shift from one

Though customers could end up witha different insurance provider they stillhave the same Great Lakes IndependentInsurance agent, with the same service, according to Hutton.

You get to know that person, you builda relationship. No matter which

insurance company Great LakesIndependent places you with, you will

insurance company to another, he said. That benefits customers because we

can shop for them to find a cheaper rate. They can make one phone call insteadof five or six.

    At Great Lakes Independents disposal

are 16 different insurance providers: AutoOwners, Bristol West, Citizens,Encompass, Foremost, Great lakesCasualty, Haggerty, Hartford, J.M.Wilson, Mercury, Progressive, Safeco,Titan, Travelers, Victoria, and Zurich.

Great Lakes Independent can alsohelp identify the right insurance companyfor particular groups, like people fiftyyears and older, or families with youngdrivers.

Great Lakes Independent InsuranceAgency is looking forward to meeting youand proud to be a member of thecommunity. If your schedule does not permit timefor a stop in quote, they will be happy toquote you by phone, and Great LakesIndependent Insurance Agency wouldliked to say thanks for the opportunity toquote your insurance needs. They can be reached at 248-393-2400,

or check out their website atgreatlakesindependent.com.
