「胃腸肝膽科」館藏資源示意圖

一、學科範圍

舉凡生物皆需攝取養分以延續生命，人體自外在攝入食物之後，先將食物轉化成微小分

子，吸收其中的養分並排除不需要的廢物，負責這一連串過程的機制稱為消化系統。人類的

消化系統始於口腔止於肛門，包含口腔、食道、胃、腸、肝、膽、胰臟、肛門等，並分為消

化道器官（胃、腸）與分泌消化液的器官（肝、膽、胰臟）。

除了口腔以外，胃腸肝膽科的範圍涵蓋所有消化系統的疾病診斷、檢驗與健康保健，由

於多數器官隱於人體內部，僅由外部觀察並不足以了解病情，還需輔以觸診、內視鏡、超音

波等檢驗方式作為診斷依據，再者因部分器官屬「沉默型」器官，如何早期發現早期治療也

是其重要研究方向。
