Jing Jiang Shipyard, a state-owned company

was founded in 1970.

1970

• 1st time privatization (49% private and 51%

state) in 2001 and shipyard was renamed as

New Century Shipbuilding (NCS).

• 2nd time privatization (100% private)was

completed in 2004.

• DYNACOM ordered 2 x VLCC

• New Century Ship Design & Research

(Shanghai) Co., Ltd was founded.

2010

First time to become 10,000 Tonners builder.

1996

• New Times Shipbuilding (NTS), a sino-foreign

joint-venture set up by NCS & its overseas

associated company. A sino-foreign JV has no

need to pay income tax in the 1st two years, and

only need to pay 50% income tax from year 3 to

year 5. The tax incentive is valid for 5 years only.

• The first ship (Aframax tanker) delivered in 2008.
