Pipelinehim at some shows. Michael was the Eastern Regional Sales Manager. He leaves behind his parents, Dov and Beth Matz. His wife, Ilana and their two children and sisters, Melissa and Nora and their families. Rest well my friend and God bless. Also, please keep our friend, Bob Bender of Oatey in your prayers. “The Legend” has cancer. However, I spoke with him the other day and his chemo is going well. He is still the same cheerful, pos-itive Bob Bender we all know he is. He’s lost his thick head of blond hair (temporarily). It looks like Jim McGoldrick’s hair, just a different color. So, by the time you read this, the Fourth of July will have come and gone. I hope you all were able to spend quality time with family and friends celebrating the birth of our

great Nation. Unfortunately, so many Americans today do not know their own history. As they seem to be changing the history books and re-writ-ing history to what one might think to keep the thoughts and the real world from our youth. My grandfather called it the feminization of America. “As in the Revolutionary war, [the British] conquests were never more than of the spot on which their army stood, never extended be-yond the range of their can-non shot. “Jefferson wrote in the letter, penned at his Monticello home on Valen-tine’s Day, 1815. “We owe to their past follies and wrong the incalculable advantage of being made independent of them…” “We must sacri-fice the last dollar and drop of blood to rid us of that badge of slavery, and it must rest with England alone to say wheth-er it is worth eternal war, for eternal it must be if she holds to the wrong.” The Consti-tution and The Declaration

Kevin “ Dauber “ Lacz -Real Navy Seal and Co-Star of American Sniper

Kevin was born and raised in central Connecticut before enrolling in James Madison University in 2000. When the terrorist attacks on Septem-ber 11, 2001 claimed the life of a good friend’s father, he decided to leave school in fa-vor of military service. While visiting a Navy recruiter’s of-fice, a SEALs poster caught Kevin’s eye and he decided to enlist in the Navy with the

intention of going to BUD/S and becoming a SEAL. He started BUD/S in early 2003 with Class 245. A back injury meant he would gradu-ate with Class 246 at the end of the year. Because he was a Hospital Corpsman, Kevin also attended 18D Special Operations Combat Medic School at Fort Bragg before checking into SEAL Team THREE in Coronado, Califor-nia. Kevin did two platoons at SEAL Team THREE (Char-lie and Delta) as a platoon sniper, breacher, and combat medic, each with a deploy-ment to Iraq (2006 and 2008). He was fortunate enough to work alongside many of the toughest frogmen to ever wear the trident, such as Marc Lee, Ryan Job, Mikey Monsoor, and Chris Kyle. His platoon’s 2006 deployment to Ramadi, then the most dan-gerous city in Iraq, has been discussed in several books, including Chris Kyle’s Ameri-can Sniper. Kevin’s presence in Sniper led to his involve-ment in the production of and eventual casting in the Clint Eastwood directed Chris Kyle biopic by the same name (starring Bradley Cooper). Upon completing his enlist-ment, Kevin was honorably discharged from the Navy. He was awarded a number of commendations for his service, including a Bronze Star with a combat ‘V’. He returned to Connecticut and enrolled at UConn with the intention of continuing his ca-reer in medicine. He gradu-ated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science

in 2011 and began the ap-plication process for Physi-cian Assistant School. While earning his undergraduate degree, he also got married and started a family. In 2012 Kevin moved his family to Winston-Salem, North Car-olina in order to pursue his Masters of Health Sciences at Wake ForestUniversity. He graduated in August 2014.

Currently, Kevin works as a Physician Assistant with Regenesis, LLC in Pensaco-la. He enjoys using his past experiences to facilitate his work in medicine and char-ity. His past military service influences him greatly as he seeks to actively support ser-vice members and veterans in his community. Kevin lives in Florida with his wife, Lind-sey, and two young children. Hunting for Healing is a 501(c)3 charitable organiza-tion. It was founded by for mer Navy SEAL Kevin Lacz and his wife, Lindsey, with the express purpose of bring-ing together service disabled military veterans and their spouses in outdoor environ-ments to promote bonding and communication. We be-lieve veteran members of our United States Military community can benefit from spending time outdoors and on the hunt with their family members. Through charitable outdoor events and hunts, we provide positive experiences and bonding opportunities for those members of our com-munities who have sacrificed heavily for us. At Hunting for Healing, we believe that our nation’s warriors and veter-ans deserve our gratitude, our time, and our service. That’s why our mission is:•to provide meaningful char-itable outdoor and hunting experiences to any service member, past or present, who has incurred a service related disability. •to promote communication and bonding between these veterans and their spouses facilitated by positive outdoor

and hunting experiences. Recently, Kevin has writ-ten gripping and intimate on-the-ground memoir about be-ing a Navy SEAL who was part of SEAL Team THREEsuccessful re-turn to the Unit-ed States to play himself in the Oscar-nom-inated film di-rected by Clint Eastwood and starring Brad-ley Cooper. with American Sniper Chris Kyle. Another ironic piece of histo-ry is the relationship between 2 our our founding fathers John Adams (our 2nd Presi-dent and Thomas Jefferson (our 3rd President somewhat demised after Jefferson was appointed ambassador to France. TACO COMFORT SOLUTIONS EARNS BEST PLACES TO WORK IN RI AWARD

Cranston, RI, July 11, 2016 – Taco Comfort Solutions has earned a 2016 Best Plac-es to Work in Rhode Island award, presented by Provi-dence Business News. This is a second Best Workplace award occasion for Taco (the company was previously rec-ognized in 2011.) The annu-al Best Places to Work in RI awards are managed by the Best Companies Group, a B2B media partner compa-ny that provides survey tools and comprehensive report-

ing for identifying/recogniz-ing best employers within a city, state, region or industry. Companies from across RI engaged in a two-part sur-vey process conducted by BCG: the first part focused on workplace policies, practic-es, philosophy and systems (25% of total score), with an employee survey to measure the employee experience as the second part (75% of total score). Combined company scores determined the win-ners. In related news for the

Positive Move on Workforce Development: Congress

Introduces Reformed Carl D. Perkins Act that Strengthens Ca-

reer and Technical Education FALLS CHURCH, Va. (July 6, 2016) –Both Republican and Democratic members of the House Committee on Education and the Work-force recently introduced the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, a positive step for the Plumbing-Heat-ing-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC), which has been advocating for increased support from Congress on crucial work-force development initiatives. Representatives from PHCC reinforced those efforts this past spring at two legislative events on Capitol Hill – a special Workforce Develop-ment Roundtable in April and the annual PHCC Legislative Conference in May – where conference participants met face-to-face with policymak-ers about the critical work-force shortage in the p-h-c in-dustry. A 21-percent increase in the number of plumbing

and HVAC technicians is pro-jected by the year 2022. This new legislation re-authorizes and reforms the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education (CTE) Act (Perkins Act), to help more Americans enter the workforce with the skills they need to compete for these high-skilled, in-demand jobs. Because the Perkins Act has not been updated in more than a decade, it no longer reflects the realities and chal-lenges facing students and workers today. With that, the reformed act – among other things – promotes the imple-mentation of more innovative CTE programs by increasing the amount of federal fund-ing available for advanced state leadership strategies and activities that will best serve the current and future needs of students, employers and communities. To ensure equitable access to feder-ally-funded CTE programs,

the U.S. Dept. of Education, under the reformed act, will have full authority to approve state and local plans, support program improvement and monitor and enforce statu-tory requirements that will ensure program quality and educational equity for CTE students. “Today’s CTE programs work to prepare millions of students for lifelong success and help bridge the divide between high school and postsecondary education and training,” says Rep. Rob-ert C. “Bobby” Scott (D-VA). “This bipartisan bill prioritiz-es equity of opportunity for all students to participate in, and benefit from, high-qual-ity CTE programs and will prepare them for high-skill, high-wage jobs that lead to economic self-sufficiency in the 21st century workforce.” Funding levels under this reauthorization of the Perkins Act indicate a step increase each year, from $1.133 billion in 2017 to $1.213 billion in 2022. The 2017 level reflects an increase of $15 million over the existing 2016 level. The reformed act also aims to improve current law by supporting the integration of employability skills into CTE programs. Employability skills were a key discussion

point between PHCC and the House Congressional Career & Technical Education Cau-cus at the Workforce Devel-opment Roundtable in April. PHCC’s representatives of-fered targeted solutions on how they’re helping to ensure that students – and eventually employees – reach business-es with those all-important “soft skills,” such as commu-nication, courtesy, customer service, appearance, organi-zation, teamwork, and lead-ership. “PHCC is extremely pleased to see Congress initiating the expansion of the Perkins Act to include more innovative strategies to attract future workers to our industry,” said PHCC—National President Charles “Chip” E. Greene. “We look forward to working with Congress on this critical workforce development issue that will help recruit and train workers for our industry.”To view a complete list of pro-posed improvements under this reformed act, http://dem-ocrats-edworkforce.house.gov for a Fact Sheet.
