MULTI MA CHINE CONTROLTe drillships feaure Muli Machine Conrol (MMC), a

compuerized conrol sysem, which ogeher wih a

fully remoe operaed pipe handling sysem allows all

sandard operaions such as sand building and ripping

o be conduced wi hou personnel on he drill floor, hus

ensuring a high level of consisency across he crew s. Tis

represens a fur her developmen of MMC, firs inroduced

by Maersk Drilling on he ulra deepwaer semi-submersible

now in operaion. Duplicae equipmen on boh well c enres

adds redundancy o he operaion. Tere are wo operaor

chairs available for each of he well cenr es, however, some

of he operaions can be performed by one man only due o

he MMC.

ACTIVE HEAVE DRAWWORK

Acive Heave compensaion is provided by 1,250 on raed

acive heave compensaing drawworks.

DERRICK AND HOISTING SYSTEMS

Te main well cenre derrick capacit is raed o 2.5 million

pounds. Te crown sheaves, ravelling block and main well

cenre op drive is raed for 1,250 ons. Tis enables a oal

drilling deph of up o 40,000 f.

TUBULAR HANDLING SYSTEMS

Wihin he derrick seback area, range 2 drill pipe can be

racked back in quads or range 3 drill pipe in riples up o

135 f lengh. Casing of up o 16 diameer can be racked

back in riples. Over 50,000 f of drill pipe can be r acked

including a heavy dut drill pipe casing landing sring.

MARINE RISER AND TENSIONING SYSTEMS

In keeping wih he safe handling sand building philosophy

he rig is equipped wih hands free fas make up o 90 f.

long MR 6H-SE riser joins raed for 12,000 f waer deph

allowing efficien riser and BOP running. Te ensioning

sysem consiss of eigh dual wire line ensioners giving a

oal op ension of 3.6 million pounds.

CRANES/HANDLING SYSTEMS

In addiion o he four main hydraulic knuckle boom deck

cranes, a dedicaed pipe handling crane will cover he drill

pipe and casing sorage deck and a ganry crane will cover

he riser bays and slip join o ensure safe and efficien

handling. Boh he BOP and subsea rees will be handled by

dedicaed guided ganry cranes and carriers.

WELL CONTROL EQUIPMENTTe 15,000 psi BOP sack is equipped wih six ram caviies.

Te lower ram invered o allow BOP esing wihou he

requiremen o run a es ool and a 27 SHD wellhead

connecor. Te Lower Marine Riser Package [LMRP] has wo

10,000 psi raed annulars and high angle release connecor.

Te MUX conrol sysem has boh copper and fiber

communicaion enhancing redundancy.

HP MUD SYSTEM

Te rig is equipped wih five mud pumps raed o 7,500 psi.

Max. oupu f or he 5 HP mud pumps wih 8 liners and max.

speed 105 RPM is 4,800 GPM.

MUD RETURN SYSTEM

A dual drilling fluid sysem ensures an efficien change

beween mud tpes and compleion fluids. Main shakers

include auomaic Shaker Load Conrol Sysem. Tere is

a dedicaed and separae on line condiioning shaker for

reserve mud while circulaing on he well and a dedicaed

and separae compleion fluid shaker. Full capacit cuings

blower sysem and dual rip anks are also incorporaed.

MUD ACTIVE SYSTEMAcive mud pis and mud mixing sysem fully spli beween

waer based and oil based mud sysems wih 4 mixing

hoppers and five mixing pumps. Including auomaic mud

chemical addiive sysem and ank washing sysem for all

mud pis.

POWER MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Te updaed Power Managemen Sysem has he mos

efficien Black-ou Recovery configuraion available oday,

as proven on Maersk Drillings ulra deepwaer semi-

submersibles. Tis will ensure grealy enhanced overall

safet.

POSITIONING SYSTEMS

Te drillship is designed wih a DP-3 Dynamic Posiioning

Sysem, which is he highes cl ass. Addiional buil

in redundancy in criical sysems will allow normal

mainenance wih no or limied impac on he safe t and

efficiency of he operaion. Six 5.5MW hrusers will provide

adequae hrus and an increased heading conrol olerance.

ACCOMMODATION

Te modern accommodaion is laid ou for 230 people inone- and wo-man cabins. Separaion beween he busy

areas such as offices, mess, galley, change rooms, recreaion

rooms, cinema, ec. and sleeping areas will furher enhance

he working environmen onboard.
