LEA is founded and headed by Jerold Yap Hock Lai.

Jerold Yap ventured into the business world in his early twenties, starting from scratch without financial assistance. He trains and consults in the areas of leadership, strategy, management, psychology, sales and marketing and customer service.

“...success in the early years was bittersweet - we had to compete with global brands which are more established and bigger in operations, the emergence of new players, and of course, the changing of government policies. But those exposures had never daunted us but made us more resilient and facilitated the professionalism and implementation of our business...”

Greetings from all of us at LEA English Centre!

LEA has always been practising in equipping our students with the skills, knowledge and personal qualities to confidently face challenges of a rapidly changing world. LEA students are encouraged to take on new challenges on a day-to-day basis to foster self-discipline, encourage independent learning and develop interactive personal and social skills. They are provided with practical life skills that enable them to stand in good stead in their life's endeavors.

LEA employs an integrated and thematic approach to learning language and acquiring knowledge – we nurture and educate with a personal touch. Our aim is such that we are able to produce independent learners who are able to excel in the “real” world outside the classrooms.

I believe that in learning a language, in particularly a language that is not your mother tongue, can possible be a challenge in itself. Mastering a language is never easy. That is why we want to relieve this stress of learning a language by providing a comfortable and fun learning environment.

“.....education is necessary for one's development. It should

be one's life-long pursuit..”

Jerold YapManaging Director of LEACo Founder & Entrepreneur

We advocate Corporate Branding and Identity as part of our growth and expansion plans. We believe in creating and supporting education ideals that are pioneer in their own class, appreciated and long remembered by students.

“the centre has built a strong learning platform based on our core values. Quality relationships between all students and members of the centre underpin an inclusive, flexible curriculum”

There is an ever changing landscape in the education field. The company plans to increase our market participation significantly over the following years. We anticipate significant opportunities in this market and hope to be ideally placed in line with the company's expansion plans to capture different markets and business associates to our stable, not withstanding the fact that we are first and foremost an educator.

We continue to advance our role in language learning by enhancing and enriching students' achievement and institutional effectiveness. Our solutions effectively allow students to develop personalized academic and career plans based on their interest, competency, learning styles and interest. We look forward to our expansion to more parts of the world, Saudi Arabia and China being the ones that we are anticipating in the near future.

I want to personally welcome you to LEA where every learner and learning matter.

LEA is keen to manage and deliver quality education by understanding the strategy and needs of students versus current market requirements. This supports the development of new programmes and courses, upgrading requirements and deployment. We constantly monitor and analyze market development with a view to capturing opportunities to develop our business portfolios.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE AND CONTENTThe ‘Part Time English Enrichment Programme’ is based around the ‘Cutting Edge’ series of language learning materials. It provides the students with an intensive, yet enjoyable learning experience. To supplement the key course material, our instructors use an extensive library of current teaching materials which further enhances the student learning experi-ence.

Before any student joins one of our classes, they are carefully placement tested by our instructors, so that the appropriate level of study may be assigned to them. Our programme progress through five levels (2 months per level) of academic study from ‘Beginner’ to ‘Upper – Intermediate’. Within each level, students are formally tested twice in order to provide a system of monitoring student progress and eligibility for progression to the next level of study. The students are to consult their respective instructors on the exam dates.

The table below clearly explains the levels that are offered under the Part Time English Enrichment Programme.

Our students attend 4 sessions per week. The classes run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. At LEA, we give our students the flexibility to attend any TWO of the four sessions at their own conve-nience. In addition to these hours of intensive study, students are encouraged to use our interactive learning facilities for a period of self study each day. We also have the Skills Class which include lessons on presentation skills, writing workshops, listening and speaking activities.

Students will also be expected to complete homework assignments, which will be set throughout the course. In a typical lesson, students are introduced to key language points in real life contexts. These language points are then developed through carefully structured practice sessions in which the students may be involved in group, pair, or individual work.

‘It Is Never Too Late To Learn Something New’

Believe it or not it. When I came to Malaysia from my hometown Symkent, Kazakhstan in 2011, I could barely order food in a restaurant or to have a general conversation with my classmates or even housemates.

Soon I started to attend English classes in LEA. I improved my English thanks to all the nice teachers and staff at the language school. They helped my life to become more pleasant.

Now I am almost one year with a New Zealand based company. Our team is multinational, so English is the only way how to communicate.

As everyone can see I did it. I started from zero and now a “hero”; and started a new chapter of my life. I would love to have followers because it is

really never too late to start something new, especially learn or improve English in a different country where you are left on your own.

NAZIRA IBRAYEVA KAZAKHSTAN

My experience at London English Academy so far has been excellent. Not only do I get to learn inside the classroom, but also outside of it. I have been able to meet so many people from different countries. I have already begun to learn two different languages from my new friends; I believe by the time I finish my studies here I will be fluent in at least four!

NAVID HAJARI IRAN

I would definitely recommend London English Academy’s courses to other international students. With so many people of other nationalities around me I have to speak English, but it’s good because it’s the best way to improve my language skills. Now I have lots of opportunities to have conversations in English and I’m not afraid to talk to people. Thanks to London English

Academy, I have made many great friends.
