KINTO was established in 1972 as

a wholesaler of porcelain and ceramic

tableware in Shiga, Japan. From the

mid-1980s to 2000, we imported and

    distributed European tableware and

    glassware in Japan.

    In the mid-1990s, we recognized

a growing demand for table and kitchen

products which fit into the modern

    lifestyle, and began developing our

own line of high quality products which

    sensibly integrate Japanese tradition

and the needs of everyday life.

In 2009, we started exporting and our

products now reach over 40 countries.

    Our partners include retailers focusing

on high quality design, museum shops,

restaurants and cafes around the world.

    PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

    ABOUT KINTO

    From small realizations in everyday

    life, the product development team

    draws original concepts which are

then developed into a wide range of

    products in collaboration with in-house

    and freelance designers.

We determine the best materials, style

and form by testing various mock-ups.

The final product will be the result of

    many trials and experiments making

    sure it satisfies the user.

Usability and aesthetics. We as makers, value the balance between these two elements. Products with an ease of use is comforting

to all the senses and leads to a growing

fondness over time. A tableware with

elegant presence blends naturally with the

living space and adds color to daily life.

We aspire to create products that stand by

you in your everyday life. This is why we

continue to seek inspiration from moments

and stories held precious by the users.

We work to create products which will

inspire and give fulfillment with every

    touch and use.
