Dear Friends,

On the eve of the sixth edition of the World Equestrian Games, that will take place from September 25th up to October 10th in Lexington-Kentucky, it is a great pleasure to present you the Belgian Equestrian Team, which will have a team in no less than six disciplines.

All of our riders were submitted to a considerable eff ort during the past year in order to prepare these

Games as well as to conform to the extremely strict selection criteria we imposed upon them. For the three Olympic disciplines, namely Jumping, Dressage and Eventing, the WEG 2010 are of considerable importance in terms of qualifi cation for the Olympic Games 2012 in London. For Reining, Endurance and Para-Equestrian Dressage we have high expectations as well.

The participation to the World Equestrian Games in the USA is very demanding for our federation, either in the administrative, logistic or fi nancial domains. Thanks to a sensible and economic management of our means these last years, we were able to put aside a respectable amount in order to fi nance our participation. Nevertheless, an optimal involvement would not have been possible without the support of our partners. I would hence like to thank sincerely the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee and our national leagues (VLP and LEWB) as well as BLOSO and ADEPS. Special thanks also to Lami-Cell, which has been supporting our federation for many years and has provided our delegation with proper clothing and material.

During the previous World Games in Aachen in 2006 we came home with two world champions, Jos Lansink in Jumping and Félix-Marie Brasseur in Driving. We also won the silver medal in the Driving team competition. Although it will not be easy to do as well this year, I strongly believe our team has the potential to do as well if not better.

I wish a safe journey and a successful participation to all the members of the Belgian Equestrian Team.
