INSEL DER INSELNNachdem er die Welt geschaffen hat, gab er jedem Volk einen Teil auf der Erdkugel, den Kroaten aber ließ er das Stück Land und das Meer, das er für sich bestimmt hat. Gott verbeugte sich über dieses magische Land und schüttete Perlen entlang der kroatischen Meeresküste aus. Genau mittig und ganz nah zum Festland blieb eine wunderschöne Perle mit einem Perlen-ring umgeben, die Insel der Inseln – die Insel Murter, umkreist von vielen anderen Inseln und Inselchen, wundersamen Aus-sehens und Schönheit, wie die Legende über Murter besagt. Unter den Inselchen, die die Insel Murter zieren, heben sich besonders jene hervor, die an eine Krone erinnern, wonach sie auch benannt wurden - Kornati.

OTOK OTOKANakon što je stvorio Svijet, svakom je narodu darovao dio ze-maljske kugle, a Hrvatima ostavio komadić kopna i mora koji je namjenio sebi. Nagnuo se Bog nad tim čarobnim dijelom svijeta, te prosuo dragulje uz hrvatsku morsku obalu. Točno po sredini, tik uz kopno, ostao je prekrasan dragulj s kolajnom od bisera, Otok otoka - otok Murter, okružen brojnim otocima i otočićima neobična izgleda i ljepote, kako kaže legenda. Među otočićima što uresuju otok Murter, posebni su oni što nalikuju na krunu po čemu su i dobili ime - Kornati.

L’ISOLA DELLE ISOLEDopo aver creato il Mondo, a ogni popolo Dio regalò un pezzo della terra, e ai Croati lasciò una parte della terraferma e del mare che aveva dedicato a sé. Si inchinò sopra questa mera-vigliosa parte del mondo e versò i gioielli lungo la costa croata. Precisamente al centro, subito accanto alla costa, rimase il bel-lissimo gioiello con una collana di perle, L’isola per eccellenza - l’isola di Murter, circondata da numerose isole e isolotti di una forma e bellezza uniche, come racconta la leggenda. Tra gli isolotti che abbelliscono l’isola di Murter, spiccano quelli che hanno la forma di una corona, dalla quale deriva anche il loro nome – Kornati (le isole Incoronate).

THE ISLAND OF ISLANDSAfter the creation of the World, every nation was given a piece of Earth; the Croats were left a piece of mainland and the sea that was at first intended for God himself. According to the legend, God leaned over this magical part of the World and scattered jewels along the Croatian coastline. Right in the middle, in the vicinity of the mainland, a beautiful jewel with a ring of pearls was caught, the greatest island - Murter, surrounded by numerous islands and islets of unusual forms and beauty.Among the islets which adorn the island of Murter, the special ones are those in form of a crown, which explains their name - Kornati.

HISTORICAL FACTSThe Croats inhabited the island during their first arrival to Dal-matia, after the ancient populations had lived there, leaving their remnants throughout the island: city walls, buildings, tombs, names... The first settlements were Veliko Selo and Jezera, and sometimes later in the past Betina and Tisno were built. The island was firstly named Srimač, and in the 17th century its name changed to Murter after the Murtar bay not far from Jezera (a Liburnian settlement from the Ancient times). Veliko Selo is also named after the island, whereas there were many settlements bearing the same name on our islands.

FATTI STORICII Croati popolarono l’isola al loro primo arrivo in Dalmazia, dopo che la regione nel corso della storia fu abitata dalle popolazioni antiche che lasciarono le loro tracce lungo l’isola: le mura, le costruzioni, le tombe, i nomi... I primi insediamenti Croati erano Veliko Selo e Jezera, e dopo si formarono Betina e Tisno. Il primo nome dell’isola fu Srimač, e nel XVII secolo cambiò nome diventando Murter, per l’inse-natura Murtar nei pressi di Jezera (dove nell’antichità risiede-vano i Liburni). Anche Veliko Selo prese il suo nome dall’isola, visto che numerose isole avevano i luoghi che portavano nomi simili.

POVIJESNE CRTICEHrvati su otok naselili u svom prvom dolasku u Dalmaciju, na-kon što su kroz povijest tu živjeli antički narodi koji su ostavili tragove diljem otoka: zidine, građevine, grobove, nazive... Prva naselja bila su Veliko Selo i Jezera, a nešto kasnije nastala su Betina i Tisno. Prvi naziv otoka bio je Srimač, ali u 17. stoljeću otok mijenja ime u Murter po uvali Murtar nedaleko Jezera gdje su u antici obitavali Liburni. Po otoku dobija ime i Veliko Selo, budući je na našim otocima bilo više naselja takvog imena.

AUS DER GESCHICHTEDie Kroaten besiedelten die Insel bei ihrer ersten Ankunft in Dalmatien, nachdem im Laufe der Geschichte hier antike Vö-lker lebten, die überall ihre Spuren hinterlassen haben: Stadt-mauern, Bauwerke, Grabstätten, Namen… Die ersten Ansied-lungen waren Veliko Selo (zu Dt. “Großes Dorf“) und Jezera (zu Dt. „Seen“), etwas später entstanden auch Betina und Tisno. Zu Beginn bekam die Insel den Namen Srimač, um im 17. Jah-rhundert umbenannt zu werden. Dann bekam sie den Namen Murter, nach der Bucht Murtar unweit der Ansiedlung Jezera (wo in der Antike Liburner verweilten). Auch das Dorf Veliko Selo bekam seinen Namen nach der Insel, da es auf unseren Inseln mehrere Ansiedlungen gab, die diesen Namen trugen.

SAFE HARBORSOn the narrowest part between the island of Murter and the mainland, in the town of Tisno, a bascule was built in order to connect the islanders with the coast, and it rises to let the ves-sels pass while they are sailing through the strait.There are moles, harbors and marinas on the island, making the inhabitants of this island connected with the whole world both by sea and mainland.

SICHERE HÄFENAm engsten Teil zwischen der Insel Murter und dem Fest-land, im Ort Tisno, wurde eine bewegliche Brücke ge-baut, welche die Inselbewohner mit dem Festland verbin-det und sich hebt, um Schiffe vorbei zu lassen, die durch diesen Engpass hindurchschiffen. Auf der Insel wurden Anlegeplätze, Häfen und Marinas erbaut, so dass die Be-wohner dieser Insel über das Festland und das Meer mit der ganzen Welt verbunden sind.

I PORTI SICURINella parte più stretta tra l’isola di Murter e la terraferma, a Tisno, è stato costruito il ponte mobile, il quale collega gli abi-tanti dell’isola con la terraferma, e si alza per lasciar passare le barche che navigano lungo lo stretto. Sull’isola sono stati costruiti i moli, i porti e le marine, e in questo modo gli abitanti di quest’isola sono collegati con tutto il mondo.

SIGURNE LUKENa najužem dijelu između otoka Murtera i kopna, u mjestu Ti-sno, sagrađen je pokretni most koji otočane spaja s kopnom, a podiže se propustiti brodice koje plove tijesnacem. Na otoku su sagrađena pristaništa, luke i marine, te su tako kopnom i morem stanovnici ovoga otoka povezani s čitavim svijetom.

IN THE CENTER OF BEAUTY AND EVENTSThe island of Murter is one of the smallest islands of the Croatian part of the Adriatic, but it is one of the most populous islands. Within their stay on the island, the visitors are offered everything within their grasp. The National Park Kornati, Na-tional Park Krka, Nature Park Vransko jezero, historical towns Zadar and Šibenik; they are all situated in the near vicinity. Il Parco Nazionale Kornati, il Parco Nazionale Krka, il Parco della Natura Vransko jezero (il lago di Vrana), le città storiche Zadar e Šibenik (Zara e Sebenico) sono molto vicini. U SREDIŠTU LJEPOTE I ZBIVANJAOtok Murter jedan je od manjih otoka hrvatskog Jadrana, ali spada među najgušće naseljene otoke. Boravkom na otoku posjetiteljima je sve na dohvat ruke. NP Kornati, NP Krka, PP Vransko jezero, povijesni gradovi Zadar i Šibenik su sasvim bli-zu. Brojna događanja, pučke fešte, koncerti, natjecanja – sve to nude ljetne večeri na otoku Murteru.

IN ZENTRUM DER SCHÖNHEIT UND DER GESCHEHENDie Insel Murter zählt zu den kleineren Inseln der kroatischen Adria, gleichzeitig aber auch zu den meist bevölkerten. Bei ei-nem Aufenthalt auf der Insel liegen den Besuchern alle mögli-chen Angebote in greifbarer Nähe. In der Nähe befinden sich die Nationalparks Kornati und Krka, der Naturpark Vransko jezero, die historischen Städte Zadar und Šibenik und vieles mehr. Verschiedene Veranstaltungen, Volksfeste, Konzerte, Wettbewerbe – all das und noch vieles mehr bieten die Som-merabende auf der Insel Murter.

TAJNE KAMENA I MORAOvdje je među poljima, kamenim suhozidima i gomilama sačuvana sva ljepota prirode koju čine: borovi, čempresi, ružmarin, lavanda, planika i ostalo mediteransko drveće, grmlje, bilje i trave čiji se mirisi šire otokom, osobito u proljeće i jesen. U brižno uređenim vrtovima rastu masline, smokve, mendule, vinova loza... Brojne uvale na oto-ku pričaju svoju priču; neke su strme i kamenite; neke blago padaju prema moru: neke su šljunčane, druge pjeskovite, jedne duboke, druge plitke, a sve vas zovu da ih posjetite i uživate u kristalno či-stom i prozirnom moru kroz koje se lome zlaćane zrake sunca. U podmorju se pak krije jedan novi svijet. Podmorje akvatorija otoka Murtera puno je brojnih zanimljivosti: procjepa, spilja, jama i kanala, ali i specifičnih biljnih i životinjskih vrsta koje žive samo u Jadranu.

THE SECRETS OF STONE AND SEAHere among the fields and dry-stone walls the whole beauty of na-ture is preserved: pines, cypresses, rosemary, lavender, bearberry and other Mediterranean trees, bushes, plants and herbs with their scents spreading across the island, especially during the spring and autumn season. Within the carefully arranged gardens the trees of ol-ives, figs, almond trees, and vines are growing... The numerous coves across the island tell their stories; some are steep and rocky, some are gently falling into the water, some are pebble, other sandy, some are deep, other shallow; they are all calling you to visit them and enjoy the crystal clear and transparent sea, through which the golden rays of sun are flawing. The underwater landscape represents an entire new world. The underwater landscape of the island of Murter is full of many interesting things: gaps, caves, holes and channels, but also specific plant and animal species, which inhabitonly the Adriatic.

DIE GEHEIMNISSE DES STEINS UND MEERESHier wurde zwischen den Feldern, den Steienmauern aus Naturstein und Anhäufungen die ganze Schönheit der Natur bewahrt: Kiefern, Zypres-sen, Rosmarin, Lavendel, Westliche Erdbeerbäume und andere medi-terrane Bäume, Gebüsche, Gewächs und Kräuter, die ihre Düfte auf der ganzen Insel verstreuen, besonders im Frühling und Herbst. In liebevoll eingerichteten Gärten wachsen Olivenbäume, Feigen, Mandelbäume, Weinreben… Die zahlreichen Buchten der Insel erzählen ihre eigenen Geschichten; einige von ihnen sind steil und steinig, andere fallen sanft herab zum Meer, einige wiederum sind mit Kieselsteinen, andere mit Sand, einige tief, andere seicht, und alle laden uns zu einem Besuch ein, um das kristallreine und durchsichtige Meerwasser zu genießen, in welchem sich vergoldete Sonnenstrahlen brechen. Und unter Wasser verbirgt sich wieder eine völlig neue Welt. Die Unterwasserwelt von Mur-ter ist reichhaltig: Hier gibt es viele Kluften, Grotten, Gruben und Kanäle, genauso wie viele spezifische Pflanzen- und Tierarten, die nur in der Adria leben.

I SEGRETI DELLA ROCCIA E DEL MARE In questo posto, tra i campi, i muretti a secco e i mucchi di pietra detti gomile, si sono conservate tutte le bellezze naturali: i pini, i cipressi, il rosmarino, la lavanda, il corbezzolo e altri alberi, cespugli, piante ed erbe mediterranee, i cui odori si sentono in tutta l’isola, specialmente in primavera e in autunno. Negli ben curati orti crescono gli ulivi, i fichi, i mandorli, le viti... Le numerose insenature raccontano le loro storie; al-cune sono scoscese e rocciose, alcune s’inclinano leggermente verso il mare, alcune sono di ghiaia, altre invece di sabbia, profonde o meno profonde, e tutte vi invitano a visitarle e godere del bellissimo mare cristallino e trasparente nel quale si spezzano i raggi dorati del sole. Il fondo marino dell’acquatorio dell’isola di Murter è un mondo tutto nuovo, pieno di interessanti fessure, cave, grotte e canali, ma anche di specie vegetali e animali che vivono solo nell’Adriatico.

ISLAND TRADITIONSThe diligent inhabitants of this island knew how to preserve this piece of Earthly paradise and how to make it even richer. Even similar at the first sight, every town is unique in its appearance and tradition.The inhabitants of Tisno, workers and farmers known for its kari and ka-roce (special kind of vehicles) pulled by horses and mules, cultivated their fields, vineyards and olive groves on the mainland in the vicinity of the island.The inhabitants of Jezera settled next to two small lakes on the south-east part of the island, settled in the hidden bay, mastered the open sea and became famous sailors, fishermen and divers.The inhabitants of Betina, living on the bulged cape of the northern side of the island, built many small shipyards, and the diligent hands of kalafati (shipbuilders) built far famed wood ships such as leut, gajeta and kaić (types of ships). The inhabitans of Murter took over the big bay on the western part of the island and the royal Kornati islands. They built long dry-stone walls and fences and planted gentle olive groves and consequently became the most famous olive growers and fisherman of this region.

LE TRADIZIONI DELL’ISOLAI laboriosi abitanti di quest’isola hanno saputo mantenere questa parte del paradiso sulla terra e arricchirlo. Oltre alle loro somiglianze, ognu-no dei luoghi è caratteristico per i suoi aspetti e le sue tradizioni.Gli abitanti di Tisno, agricoltori, conosciuti per i loro carri e le carrozze trainati dai cavalli e dai muli, coltivavano la terra, i vigneti e gli uliveti sulla terraferma vicino all’isola stessa.Gli abitanti di Jezera si stabilirono vicino ai due laghi nella parte sud-orientale dell’isola, scesero nell’insenatura nascosta, domarono il mare e diventarono famosi marinai, pescatori e sommozzatori. Gli abitanti di Betina costruirono sul capo della parte settentrionale dell’isola, numerosi piccoli cantieri, e le mani laboriose dei kalafati costruivano le famose barche tradizionali: i leuti, le gajete ed i kaići. Gli abitanti di Murter si stabilirono nella grande baia sulla parte occi-dentale dell’isola, e sulle reali Incoronate. Costruirono numerosi mu-retti a secco e i recinti, piantarono gli ulivi e diventarono i più famosi coltivatori di ulivi della zona.

OTOČNE TRADICIJEVrijedni stanovnici ovoga otoka znali su sačuvati ovaj dio zemalj-skog raja i oplemeniti ga. Pored sličnosti, svako je mjesto izgledom i tradicijom slika za sebe.Tišnjani, težaci-poljodjelci, poznati po svojim karima i karocama koje su vukli konji i mazge, obrađivali su svoja polja, vinograde i maslinike na kopnu u blizini otoka.Jezerani su se naselili pored dva mala jezera na jugoistoku otoka, spustili se zatim u skrivenu uvalu, ovladali pučinom sinjeg mora i postali čuveni mornari, ribari i ronioci. Betinjani su na izbočenom rtu sjeverne strane otoka, načinili broj-na mala brodogradilišta, a vrijedne ruke kalafata gradile su nadale-ko poznate drvene leute, gajete i kaiće. Murterini su zauzeli veliki zaljev na zapadnoj strani otoka i kraljev-ske Kornate. Podigli su duge suhozide i ograde i tu zasadili pitome maslinike te su postali poznati maslinari i ribari.

DIE INSELTRADITIONENDie tüchtigen Bewohner dieser Insel wussten genau, wie sie diesen Teil des Erdparadieses schützen und bereichern konnten. Die Orte der Insel sind nicht nur sehr ähnlich, sondern haben auch jeweils eine eigene Tra-dition und ein eigenes charakteristische Bild.Die Tišnjani, Landarbeiter, Bewohner des Ortes Tisno, bekannt nach ihren Pferdegespannen und Kutschen, genannt „Kari“ und „Karoce“, die von Pferden und Maultieren gezogen wurden. Sie haben Felder, Weingärten und Olivenhaine auf dem Festland in Inselnähe bearbeitet.Die Jezerani sind ein Volk, das das Land neben zwei kleinen Seen auf der südöstlichen Inselseite besiedelte, dem heutigen Ort Jezera. Sie setzten sich in die verborgene Bucht unter, beherrschten das offene, blaue Meer und wurden zu bekannten Seemännern, Fischern und Tauchern. Die Betinjani bewohnen das herausragende Kap der nördlichen Inselsei-te. Sie haben viele kleine Schiffswerften errichtet, während die tüchtigen Hände der traditionellen Meister “Kalafati” weit bekannte Boote Leuta, Gajeta und Kaići erbauten. Die Murterini haben die große Bucht auf der westlichen Seite der Insel und die königlichen Kornati Inseln besiedelt.Sie errichteten lange Steinzäune aus Naturstein und Zäunen, innerhalb welchen sie dann zahme Olivenhaine züchteten und zu besten Oliven-züchtern dieses Gebietes wurden.

THE SATISFACTION LIES IN THE MOVEMENTMany travelers were coming to this island from both sea and mainland directions for centuries. Some of them became attached to it and continued to live there. The tourists who kept coming to the Adriatic coastline were also slowly discovering the island of Murter. Today, it has been visited by people in search of holiday adventure, nature admirers who like to hike, ride a bike, dive, sail and row.

BEWEGUNG SCHAFFT GENUGTUUNGJahrhunderte lang kamen Reisende auf diese Insel vom Meer und vom Festland. Einige haben dabei ihre Liebe zur Insel ent-deckt und blieben für immer hier. Auch Touristen, die an die Adria fuhren, haben durch die Zeit die Reize von Murter ent-deckt. Heute kommen auf die Insel alle, die Ruhe und Erholung suchen, Naturliebhaber, und solche, die gerne lange Spazier-gänge machen, Fahrrad fahren, tauchen, segeln oder rudern.

IL PIACERE STA NEL MUOVERSIPer secoli, numerosi viaggiatori visitavano quest’isola sia dal mare che dalla terraferma. Alcuni se ne innamorarono e rima-sero vivere sull’isola. I turisti che visitavano l’Adriatico piano piano conquistavano anche Murter. Oggi lo visitano quelli che vogliono rilassarsi, gli amanti della natura, le persone che ama-no passeggiare, andare in bicicletta, fare le immersioni, andare a vela o remare.

ZADOVOLJSTVO JE U POKRETUStoljećima su mnogi putnici dolazili na ovaj otok s mora i kopna. Neki od njih su ga zavoljeli i ostali živjeti na njemu. Turisti koji su dolazili na Jadran polako su osvajali i otok Murter. Danas ga posjećuju ljudi željni odmora, ljubitelji prirode koji vole pješačiti, voziti bicikl, roniti, jedriti i veslati.

KORNATI – KRUNA OD BISERAZbog izuzetnih krajobraznih ljepota, zanimljive geomorfologije, ve-like razvedenosti obalne crte i naročito bogatih biocenoza morskog ekosustava, godine 1980. veći dio Kornatskog akvatorija proglašen je nacionalnim parkom.
