Lydenburg Outreach-fonds doen goeie werk ~ Michelle Boshoff Below is an extract of a speech prepared by Helen Zille, submitted by the DA: It is not just your councillor who could change after this election. The DA has a very good chance of winning the election. But we can only win if everybody who wants change turns out to vote for the DA on election day. I (Helen Zille) am not asking you to pledge your undying allegiance to the DA. No party in a democracy deserves that kind of loyalty. All we are asking you is to lend us your vote for the next five years. If we fail you, you can take your vote back and give it to someone else at the next election. You can choose five more years living next to half-built houses without running water, electricity and sanitation. Or you can choose the DA. We will make the completion of these houses a top priority should we win the election. If you want to experience the DA difference, you know what to do on 18 May. Helen Zille is the leader of the Democratic Alliance, and Premier of the Western Cape. A former journalist and anti-apartheid activist, Ms. Zille has previously served as Western Cape MEC for Education, and as mayor of the City of Cape Town. For her work as mayor, she was awarded the World Mayor of the Year award in 2008. DA urges everyone to vote on 18 May 2011 Jersey’s for underprivileged children: Close to 70 little jerseys are available for underprivileged children as a donation. They will fit children up to five years of age. People that know of children who are in need of something warm can phone the Lydenburg Dienssentrum at 013 235 3875 to speak to the organisers of the project.
