Achievements

H.M.Dockyard : On conclusion of my 4 year Electrical Fitter apprenticeship I achieved the E.E.T.P.U Union award as best Electrical Fitter apprentice over the 4-year apprenticeship.Devon and Cornwall Police: Following basic training was awarded the Elliot Cup which was the Commandants award for personal achievement and helping other colleagues to achieve their best potential.Following my probationary period I studied for and passed my written and practical promotion Examination to the rank of Sergeant.Having spent 9 years on the traffic division I studied for 2 years and obtained a City and Guilds Certification in Accident and Vehicle Investigation, being only one of six officers at that time qualified in that role in the Devon and Cornwall policing area. During my 8 years on the Vehicle investigation I introduced a safe working plan in dealing with anti-social behaviour and the theft of and subsequent arson of stolen motor vehicles. This plan was adopted by the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary together with the Fire Brigade and local authorities charged with dealing with the respective issues. My role as a Detective within the Vehicle Investigation unit also enabled me to produce, and present a power-point presentation to police officers and local authority staff on the health and safety issues with dealing with stolen and burnt out motor vehicles. AP Electrical Contractors: Having initially being taken on as an Electrical labourer I studied and re qualified to the latest 17th edition requirements. Following 2 years of domestic installations I was tasked with quality checking the work of other employees and tasking them to correct their mistakes to a standard required by Plymouth Community Homes. During this period I also identified due to an obvious lack of cohesion between the individual site managers, the need for a new position of Stores manager/Logistics officer within the organisation. I produced and presented an action plan to best tackle the problem. This action plan was adopted and worked successfully to assist not only in the ordering and dissemination of the stores required but also enabled the company to list expense against income for each property completed.Whilst with AP Electrical Contractors I have obtained a certificate in Asbestos Awareness and currently hold a valid First Aid Certificate

British Gas : Since starting with British Gas as a site manager I have attended the following courses . t Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) courseCISRS basic Scaffold Inspection Course.Face Fit Train the Trainer course .I have enrolled for a NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Construction Site Management Building and Civil Engineering.
