In highly used, highlyabused environments like the health care sector, the “cheapest” fl ooring products can be the most expensive choice over the lifetime of the fl oor. More expensive fl oors – like rubber – can actually be the cheapest at a little over half the cost of the next closest option over the lifetime of the fl oor. Even at fi ve years, payback for some of the more expensive fl oors had disqualifi ed the cheaper fl oors. Theoretically, in a large hospital over 15 years’ time, millions of dollars could be saved by installing fl oors that do not require fi nishing. Rubber seems to be the best productoverall. It doesn’t move over years, decay or wear like most other products.

ealth Design™ Wall Base and Preformed Inside and Outside Corners were specifi cally developed to increase productivity and ease of installation compared to traditional time consuming and unsightly on-site fl ash coving, especially related to corners. Material is designed to be heat welded to recommended FLEXCO® vinyl and rubber fl ooring products along with competitive heat-weldable resilient solid vinyl tile and vinyl sheet fl ooring. This unique system also provides an almost seamless application allowing ease of cleaning while aiding in the prevention of bacterial growth. Heat Weldable Wall Base and Corners are also fl exible, which not only makes installations fast and economical, but it helps conceal fl oor and wall irregularities while providing a tough fi nish to resist scuffi ng and gouging. The color is homogeneous throughout the entire thickness of the wall base. The surface texture is an appealing unique matte fi nish to ensure an attractive transition.

he FLEXCO® Unitized Installation System allows rubber and vinyl tile to be seamlessly installed as a one-piece fl oor. Pre-grooved fl oor tiles are fused together with Welding Beads in matching or contrasting colors. The process is easy, fast and permanent, and the result is a completely seamless “unitized” fl oor. Welding Beads are ideal in areas that have stringent requirements for added hygiene, including operating theaters, laboratories, clean rooms and other areas subjected to continual and extensive wet cleaning. Note: For 36" x 36" rubber and vinyl tiles, square feet divided by 600 equals number of rolls needed. For 24" x 24" tiles, divide by 400 (400 lin. ft. /roll). 50' rolls are also available for use with Health Design Wall Base.T

chemical resistanceAll FLEXCO® products (except FlexTuft) were tested for resistance to various chemicals by placing one cubic centimeter of each chemical on the tile surface and then covering it with a watch glass. The chemicals were allowed to remain in contact with the tile for one hour and for 24 hours. Tiles were then washed with soap and water and allowed to dry under room conditions for 24 hours. Visual evaluations were then made and classifi ed as follows:
