China Green Development

Dr. Hu Tao, Chinese Ministry of Environment, said at the Carbon Expo in October

2010 that “China lost the industrial revolution and missed out on the IT revolution, it’s

not going to miss out on the green revolution”(1). So will action follow words in the new

5 year plan published this year? 中国环境部胡涛博士在2010年10月的碳博览会上说道："中国不仅失去了工业革命也错过了IT革命，但再也不能错过绿色革命了。"那么中国会做出相应的行动来响应今年推出的新五年计划吗？

Yes. It looks like China will turn the

green corner in 2011 with a substantial

amount of mission statements in the

national blue print for a better future.

This 5 year plan - the12th version of the

plan since Mao Zedong established it - is

widely seen as the most important docu-

ment for the current global environmen-

tal development.

So what will be in it? Global media re-

ports that China, the world's biggest

energy consumer and producer of green

house gases, has set up measures to

curb pollution, promote clean technology

and initiate an environment tax.

According to academics and government advisers, other radical measures still under discussion include a

possible cap on energy use and a shift away from GDP-based performance evaluation. "The new five-year

plan is an opportunity for China to lead the green revolution, which will de-link growth and carbon dioxide

However, the plan is only underlining China’s efforts

to become the global leader in alternative energy

production. Seven out of world’s top ten solar panel

makers are now located in China. The US was

surpassed by China at the end of 2010 as the

world’s biggest wind power generator following

several years of doubling its capacity annually. Not

to forget hydroelectric power projects like the fa-

mous three gorges dam at the Yangtze river, even

though highly controversial with regards to ecologi-

cal impact.

M+W Group urges commitment for climate protection as co-founder of the corporate trust 2 degrees

M+W joined a group of six leading German

companies from various sectors have founded

the corporate trust '2 degrees – German compa-

nies for climate protection in Berlin. The found-

ers' common goal is to work together with sci-

ence and society towards concrete solutions for

climate protection for the long term beyond day-

to-day business. To achieve this, the boards

and directors will get involved personally and

contribute their companies' know-how to the

M+W Green Efforts M+W Shanghai executed several green building projects in 2009 and throughout 2010. Especially LEED Certi-

fied Projects – a US green building rating system – had a noticeable number in client requests. M+W answered

this new development with the first in-house LEED training resulting in a current team of 10 LEED GA certified

engineers. These 10 pioneers of a new developing market will enable M+W Shanghai to facilitate the fast

growing demand of sustainable projects in China.

Further involvements in sustainable and environ-

mentally friendly developments are the sponsoring

of the monthly Green Drinks networking and semi-

nar events. The frequent exchange with top engi-

neers in this new developing sector as well as

spreading the companies name in that society are

just some of the advantages of these meetings.

search, extensive engineering training and antici-

pation of developing trends to remain one of the

leading companies in an existing vast new market

But how will it be controlled? China is determined

to set up strict and detailed monitoring systems to

ensure that the set goals will be matched. Nitrogen

oxide (one third produced by vehicle exhaust) and

ammonia as a water pollutant will be added to the

list of closely checked substances and will be

published live for over 100 cities in China via the

website of the environment ministry.

China's green technology efforts have cost more than $34bn in the year 2010 and most likely increase further

in 2011. A vast new market for China to become the world leader in alternative energy technology and for

New Project Completion!

A new client moved into his facility at the beginning of January 2011

The first corporation between Sciprogen Bio Pharma-

ceutical Co., Ltd. and M+W Shanghai Co., Ltd began

at January 2011. The kick off meeting of the project

was held in Shenzhen.

Sciprogen Bio Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is a well-

recognized biopharmaceutical company focused on

development, manufacture and marketing of thera-

peutic proteins involving the installation of a state of

the art mammalian cell-manufacturing facility.

M+W Shanghai Co., Ltd provides Master Plan and

Conceptual Design Services for an EPO, Heparin &

Syringe filling facility with a foot-print of 53,000sqm. 美施威尔（上海）有限公司与深圳赛保尔生物药业有限公司的第一次合作始于2011年一月。开工大会将在项目的所在地深圳举行。 深圳赛保尔生物药业有限公司是一家知名的生物制药公司，其主要业务是药用蛋白的研发，生产和行销包括一个高水平的哺乳细胞生产厂。 美施威尔（上海）有限公司为血制品，肝素钠灌装厂房提供总体规划和概念设计，厂房占地面积53,000平方米。

Our confidential client is a large medical equipment producer that decided to centralize its 7 offices,

After 11 months' of Engineering and Construction Service, M+W Shanghai Co., Ltd. completed the office fit-out pro-

ject at the end of December 2010 and the company moved in at the beginning of January 2011. The office is located
