Crib
Changer
Rocker
I propose linen single panel window treatments on both windows, layered over the striped roller shades. They would be swagged to opposite sides to sweetly frame the crib placement.
An antique corner shelf could hold keepsakes & be a unique focal point.
A vintage side table could hold supplies at an arms reach to the rocker
An antique sconce would be a space saving light fixture if mounted on the wall
The rocker & ottoman could be pulled together with a throw pillow in brown .
Shelving could be customized to hold storage baskets and books above the changer For artwork , a
whimsical plate wall here would be a nice original accent.
some vintage accents.
A wall mounted lantern sconce pays homage to your neighborhood near the ocean & would be painted in a sweet pea green.
Graphic melamine plates could be hung with plate hangers to the right of the changer as original wall art.
The perfect antique side table for beside the rocker & flea market corner shelf for above the crib. The great lines of the shelf mimic the Serena & Lily patterned bedding. I immediately thought of this piece when we discussed moving the crib to an angle during our first meeting.
To pull it all together…
A graphic damask pillow to marry the rocker & brown ottoman with other linens.
DIY shelves with decorative brackets over the changer hold books, pictures & storage containers.
Linen window panels with white hardware would frame the crib’s angled placement & provide a natural texture in the room.
I propose a white chair rail with this Farrow & Ball wallpaper below. The tonal effect will work elegantly below the accent pink color & bring together the linen, green & brown throughout the room.
The details…
1. Antique Corner shelf – As mentioned above, this piece is really what helped imagine the new layout. If the crib were to stay in its current location it would not provide Mom or Dad with a view from the doorway when peeking in to see if nap time is (hopefully!) still on. Salvaged from a charming flea market near NYC, you definitely won’t find this in any local baby store.
2. Vintage Spindle side table – This is most needed next to your rocker & the perfect spot to stash supplies, books, etc. The dainty design will assist in balancing the bigger pieces in the room.
3. Chair rail with wallpaper below – These details are pricey but will solve the
first issue you mentioned during our meeting – toning down the pink walls (which are adorable) and accent more natural tones. I’ve suggested beautiful textured wallpaper, which is actually hand printed with safe water-based paint; durable, easily cleaned & very high quality to last many years.
4. Linen window panels – Store bought window panels & hardware will add a
sophisticated layer to the windows & pre-existing roller shades. Pulled to opposite sides of the crib will give a subtle canopy effect… charming!
5. Antique Sconce – I was so impressed with your neighborhood near the
beach. I thought this antique fixture mounted on the wall would give a traditional, nautical spin over a regular lamp. Painted a fun, sweet pea green will coordinate with the green tones in the rug & bedding.
6. Damask graphic pillow – The perfect piece to join the ottoman, rocker &
linens.
7. DIY shelving & Storage baskets– Made from custom cut wood & decorative brackets; these shelves can provide vertical storage above the changer & keep valuable floor space open for playing!
8. Plate wall – These plates were a boutique find during a buying trip to
Savannah, GA & they screamed to be included in a little girl’s sweet space. You mentioned wanting to hang art & again these unique decorative pieces won’t be found in anyone else’s nursery.
