• Used to decrease uric acid in body, preventing or relieving joint pain associated with gout

• Common side effects• Drowsiness• Nausea, vomiting• Diarrhea

• Nursing precautions• Administer Zyloprin and Benemid with food or milk • Maintain fluid intake at 8-12 ounces daily
