experiences most of the time. 17% of users say they always find the information they are

looking. 68% of users say that search engines are a fair and

unbiased source of information. Only 19% of users say they don’t place that trust in search

engines.

Most internet users are naïve about search engines and search results. Only 38% of searchers are aware of a distinction

between “research” results sponsored by for-profit organization and non-sponsored research.

將參考服務用虛擬的方式作為網路資源的使用引導：虛擬參考服務是在原本圖書館的參考服務基礎上，利用 e-m

現象的警訊 – 大學圖書館的服務趨向公共圖書館化大學圖書館的藏書跟公共圖書館差別越來越小書籍期刊品質良莠不一且時有缺本由於經費的縮限而索性大幅減少訂購重要期刊與購買較昂貴的書籍

且戰且走，沒有完整的館藏發展策略以各種受歡迎的活動來吸引使用者「入館」使用，而不論這些活動是否具有啟發學術研究發展的價值

大學圖書館為何有文化責任？大學圖書館的使命 (王振鵠 , 民 73)

大學圖書館根據大學教育的宗旨，蒐集、組織和運用圖書資料，以達到保存知識文化、配合教學研究與推廣學術三大使命。

大學是一個創造文明的地方大學是一群學者與學生，尋求知識、探討人生與追求理想的

所在。大學圖書館基於大學的立場，應該是要營造一個能夠「創造

文明」的環境。圖書館對知識文化的保存，可以讓專家學者可以無阻礙的進行研究與教學。故大學圖書館必須善盡文化保存的責任後，才可能在這基礎上更進一步地配合教學研究所需，進而推廣知識與學術，最後創造文明。

發展特色館藏加強灰色文獻與非書資料的蒐集與典藏

對大學圖書館而言，如果研究是最優先的考慮，則圖書館愈有可能蒐藏學術性、罕用、珍藏本以及價格高的資料，不應以資料的形式為收藏的主要考慮因素。

e.g. 由政經、社教、史地等各類社會科學研究領域來看，政府出版品等官方文獻以及許多未正式出版的刊物是研究制度與社會現象的重要參考資料。

e.g. 再由電機、資訊、生技等發展迅速的科學領域來看，會議、研討會論文集、以及學術演講簡報等未出版的文獻，才是研究者真正需要的資源。

以臺大圖書館收集鄉鎮誌為例研究台灣社會的發展、轉型與蛻變時，鄉鎮誌等地方刊物

是研究臺灣政經文化的重要參考臺大圖書館身為寄存圖書館，僅能收集到中央一級、二級部會的官方文獻，對於地方鄉鎮所發行的刊物則殘缺不全 2004.02 開始籌畫收集臺灣鄉鎮誌之單位聯絡事宜 2004.03 陸續接洽臺灣 369 個鄉鎮公所

Cost: 僅花費了數千元的郵電費。 Result: 三個月內收到全臺各地鄉鎮公所寄來 693包文

件，共 800餘冊的書籍與文獻，其中不乏臺灣50 、 60年代前的珍貴刊物。

臺灣大學校史稿自日人創建算起，臺大已有七十七年的歷史，但歲月流轉，早期的師生已漸凋零，深藏於前人腦海的輝煌往事亦難追憶。臺大若不趁早編纂校史，不僅讓許多珍貴史料平白散佚，社會大眾也錯失一個探察臺灣高等教育發展的最佳對象。

民國八十八年六月，經學生提議，臺大校務會議通過成立校史編修小組蒐整史料，並將收集的資料存放於總圖書館

直到民國九十三年六月，陳維昭校長遂任命圖書館項潔館長擔任主編，中國文學系葉國良主任、柯慶明教授及歷史學系吳密察教授擔任編輯，並委託葉主任組織該系師生共同編寫。歷時一年，而有《國立臺灣大學校史稿： 1928〜 2004》的問世。

大學圖書館文化保存的責任善盡珍貴文化資產的保存，是大學圖書館責無旁貸的責任

與義務，更是大學圖書館之所以與公共圖書館最大差異的核心要素。

唯有前人不問近利的細心收藏，大學圖書館才有現在引以為傲的珍貴館藏。大學圖書館應該稟持著捨我其誰的態度，不論是強化館藏特色的研究資源，或者是配合學校重點研究教學所累積的館藏，都應該以文化保存的角度進一步思考，讓這些館藏都能夠永續的累積與應用。

當後人問道，我們留下了什麼給他們的時候，我們才能抬頭挺胸而不愧對我們的子孫。
