Surat Al-Burj (The Mansions of the Stars) -

Sahih International

By the sky containing great stars

When they sat by it (fire),

And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses.Muhsin Khan

And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning

them).

Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bilmu/mineenashuhood85:8

And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah , theExalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,Muhsin Khan

They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-

Mighty, Worthy of all Praise!

Transliteration

Wama naqamoo minhum illa anyu/minoo billahi alAAazeezi alhameed85:9

Sahih International

To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah ,

over all things, is Witness.Muhsin Khan

Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And

Allah is Witness over everything.

Transliteration

Allathee lahu mulku assamawatiwal-ardi wallahu AAala kullishay-in

Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women

and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will

have the punishment of the Burning Fire.Muhsin Khan

Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (bytorturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to

Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of

the burning Fire.

Transliteration

Inna allatheena fatanoo almu/mineenawalmu/minati thumma lam

yatooboo falahum AAathabujahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeq85:11

Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have

gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.Muhsin Khan

Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be

Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success.

Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati lahum jannatuntajree min

tahtiha al-anharu thalikaalfawzu alkabeer85:12

Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe.Muhsin Khan

Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your

Lord is severe.

Transliteration

Inna batsha rabbika lashadeed85:13

Sahih International

Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats.Muhsin Khan

Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the

Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on

the Day of Resurrection).

Innahu huwa yubdi-o wayuAAeed85:14

Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad (Peace

be upon him) and his Message of Islamic Monotheism).

Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheeb85:20

Sahih International

While Allah encompasses them from behind.

Muhsin KhanAnd Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within

His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds).
