allowing the engine to generate an even higher output andimproving engine performance across both middle and high revand torque ranges.
Based on a design that powered Finnish racing legend TommiMäkinen to four straight titles in the gruelling World RallyChampionship (WRC), the turbocharged and intercooled 2.0litre DOHC fourcylinder engine delivers instantaneous powerand torque.
Consisting of a structurally reinforced castaluminium block, aluminium cylinder head and fitted with the latest edition ofMitsubishi Motors’ innovative MIVEC variable valvetimingsystem, this impressive engine’s architecture features a squaredesign with both its bore and stroke measure an equal 86.0mmwith a compression ratio of 9.0:1.
Previously used in the highly successful Lancer Evolution VII,VIII and IX engines, the cylinder head valves are sodiumfilled. The valves are hollowed out and then filled with speciallyformulated sodium. This achieves a weight reduction andimproved heat dispersion compared to standard valves.
The Lancer Evolution’s distinctive exhaust note is due to thesystems freeflowing dual exhaust outlets. The stainless steelexhaust manifold and turbocharger are located at the rear ofthe transverselymounted engine and close to the firewall whichhelps to improve weight distribution.
Lancer Evolution Final Edition comes standard with a shortthrow, 5speed manual transmission.
Performance is further enhanced by the use of world leadingmotorsport suppliers including light weight twopiece Brembo®brake rotors up front, accompanied by Bilstein® shockabsorbers and Eibach® springs at all four corners.
One of the most sophisticated and rally proven allwheel drivesystems ever developed for a production car, the Super AllWheel Control (SAWC) system, working with LancerEvolution’s superbly engineered suspension, providesperformance and tractability like no other.
The SAWC system allows the driver to choose between threeselectable traction mode settings – tarmac, gravel and snowproviding maximum tractability and performance in all weatherand road conditions.
The SAWC system is also complemented by the Active YawControl (AYC), Active Stability Control (ASC) and Sport Antilock

Braking (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution andLimited Slip Differential to deliver a remarkable level of tractionand agility.

Rear suspension is an independent multilink low mount designwith stabiliser bar with Bilstein® shock absorbers and Eibach®springs.
