PULSADOR DESACTIVACIÓN ABS(donde esté previsto)

Para desactivar el sistema, operar comose indica a continuación:

• Arrancar el motor.• Con el vehículo detenido, pre-

sionar y mantener presionado elpulsador.Pasados unos tres segundos eltestigo del cuadro (ABS) empie-za a parpadear.

• Liberar inmediatamente el pul-sador.

• En este momento el testigo ABSen el instrumento continuaráparpadeando lentamente, por lotanto el sistema ABS estarácompletamente desactivado.

Para reactivar el sistema ABS:

• Detener el vehículo y parar elmotor colocando el conmutadorde encendido en la posición"OFF".

• Volver a colocar el conmutadorde encendido en la posición"ON" y arrancar el motor.

• Una vez en marcha, el sistemaABS se reactivará después dehaber superado los 5 km/h (3.1mi/h).

EN CASO DE ANOMALÍA O CON ABSDESACTIVADO, LA MOTO SE COM-

ABS DEACTIVATION BUTTON (if in-stalled)

To deactivate the system, proceed as fol-lows:

• Start the engine.• With the vehicle at a standstill,

press and hold the button.After roughly three seconds, theindicator light (ABS) on the in-strument panel starts to flash.

• Release the button immediately.• Now the ABS warning light on

the instrument panel keepsflashing slowly; the ABS systemis then completely deactivated.

To activate the ABS system again:

• Stop the vehicle and shut off theengine by turning the ignitionswitch to "OFF".

• Turn the ignition switch back to"ON" and start the engine.

• Once riding, the ABS system willbe reactivated only after ridingfaster than 5 km/h (3.1 mi/h).

IN CASE OF FAILURE OR WITH ABSDISCONNECTED, THE VEHICLE OP-ERATES AS IF IT DID NOT HAVE THISSYSTEM.

The total kilometre ODOMETER isshown on the bottom section C of the dis-play, regardless the TRIP selected. Theconfiguration indication is displayed onthe F zone, the partial distance travelledis constantly displayed on the central Dzone. The E zone shows the followingdata upon selection:

KM IN RESERVE

When the low fuel warning light is steadilyon, the display indicates the kilometrestravelled in this condition. The value isdisplayed in the area where the total OD-OMETER is normally indicated.

If the engine is started with low fuel, thekilometres travelled with low fuel are dis-played 40 seconds after the start-up, sothat the total ODOMETER can also beread.

The ABS system is a device to avoidwheels locking in case of emergencybraking, thus increasing vehicle stabilityat braking when compared with a tradi-tional braking system. Sometimes whenthe brake is pressed, the tyre locks witha consequent loss of grip, which makes itdifficult to control the vehicle. A positionsensor on the tone wheel, forming an in-tegral unit with the vehicle wheel, "reads"the status of the vehicle wheel spottingany possible lock. A control unit pointsthis out and adjusts the pressure insidethe braking circuit accordingly.

CONTROLES PRELIMINARES

Freno de disco delantero y trasero Controlar el funcionamiento, lacarrera en vacío de las palancasde mando, el nivel del líquido yeventuales pérdidas. Controlar eldesgaste de las pastillas. Si esnecesario efectuar el rellenado dellíquido de frenos.

Acelerador Controlar que funcione consuavidad y que se pueda abrir ycerrar completamente, en todaslas posiciones de la dirección.Regular y/o lubricar si esnecesario.

Aceite motor Controlar y/o restaurar el nivel si esnecesario.

Ruedas/neumáticos Controlar el estado superficial delos neumáticos, la presión deinflado, el desgaste y eventualesdaños.

Quitar eventuales cuerposextraños encastrados en lasesculturas de la banda derodadura.

Palancas del freno Controlar que funcionen consuavidad.

Lubricar las articulaciones yregular la carrera si es necesario.

PRE-RIDE CHECKS

Front and rear disc brake Check for proper operation. Checkbrake lever empty travel and brakefluid level. Check for leaks. Checkbrake pads for wear. If necessarytop-up with brake fluid.

Throttle grip Check that the throttle functionssmoothly and can be fully openedand closed in all steering positions.Adjust and/or lubricate ifnecessary.

Engine oil Check and/or top-up as required.

Wheels/ tyres Check that tyres are in goodconditions. Check inflationpressure, tyre wear and potentialdamage.

Remove any possible strangebody that might be stuck in thetread design.

Brake levers Check they function smoothly.

Lubricate the joints and adjust thetravel if necessary.

Clutch Check for proper operation. Checkclutch lever free play and fluidlevel. Check for leaks. If needed,top-up the fluid; the clutch mustwork without gripping and/orsliding.

Engine oil level check (04_01,04_02)

Check engine oil level regularly, changeit every 10000 km (6250 miles).

To check:

THE ENGINE MUST BE WARM TOCHECK OIL LEVEL. DO NOT SCREWIN THE DIPSTICK.

IF YOU CHECK LEVEL WHEN THE EN-GINE IS COLD, OIL LEVEL COULDTEMPORARILY DROP BELOW THE"MIN" MARK.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDEREDA PROBLEM PROVIDED THAT THEALARM WARNING LIGHT AND THEENGINE OIL PRESSURE ICON DIS-PLAY DO NOT TURN ON SIMULTANE-OUSLY.

CAUTION

DO NOT LET THE ENGINE IDLE WITHTHE VEHICLE AT STANDSTILL TOWARM UP THE ENGINE AND OBTAINTHE OPERATING TEMPERATURE OFENGINE OIL.

OIL IS BEST CHECKED AFTER A TRIPOR AFTER TRAVELLING APPROXI-MATELY 15 km (10 mi), OUT OF TOWN(ENOUGH TO WARM UP ENGINE OILTO OPERATING TEMPERATURE).

• Extraerla nuevamente y contro-lar el nivel de aceite.

• El nivel es correcto si alcanzaaproximadamente el nivel"MÁX".

• Desenroscar y sacar el tapón dedrenaje (2).

• Sacar el tope inferior.• Desenroscar y quitar el tapón de

llenado (1).• Drenar y dejar escurrir el aceite

durante algunos minutos dentrodel recipiente.

• Controlar y eventualmente sus-tituir las arandelas de estan-queidad del tapón de drenaje(2).

• Retirar los residuos metálicosadheridos al imán del tapón dedrenaje (2).

• Enroscar y apretar el tapón dedrenaje (2).

NO ARROJAR EL COMBUSTIBLE ALMEDIO AMBIENTE.

• Place a container with a 4000cm³ (244 cu.in) capacity underthe drainage plug (2).

• Unscrew and remove the drain-age plug (2).

• Remove the lower lug.• Unscrew and remove the filler

cap (1).• Drain the oil into the container;

allow several minutes for oil todrain out completely.

• Check the sealing washers ofthe drainage plug (2) and re-place them, if necessary.

• Remove any metal scrap attach-ed to the drainage plug (2) mag-net.

• Screw and tighten the drainageplug (2).

DO NOT DISPOSE OF OIL INTO THEENVIRONMENT.

Controlar periódicamente el nivel deaceite del cardán, sustituirlo en los inter-valos previstos en la tabla de manteni-miento programado.

Para el control:

• Mantener el vehículo en posi-ción vertical con las dos ruedasapoyadas en el piso.

• Desenroscar y quitar el tapóndel nivel.

• Controlar a través del tapón denivel que el aceite toque el orifi-cio. Si el aceite está por debajodel nivel indicado se debe pro-ceder al llenado.

Para llenar y eventualmente sustituirel aceite del grupo transmisión cardá-nica, dirigirse a un Concesionario Ofi-cial Moto Guzzi.

Puesta en servicio de unabatería nueva (04_13, 04_14)

• Asegurarse de que el conmuta-dor de encendido se encuentraen "OFF".

• Quitar el asiento del piloto.• Desenroscar los dos tornillos (1)

y desplazar la tapa (2).• Desenroscar y quitar el tornillo

(3) del borne negativo (-).• Desplazar lateralmente el cable

negativo (4).• Desenroscar y quitar el tornillo

(5) del borne positivo (+).• Desplazar lateralmente el cable

positivo (6).• Tomar con fuerza la batería (7)

y sacarla de su alojamiento le-vantándola.

• Colocar la batería sobre una su-perficie plana, en un lugar fres-co y seco.

• Volver a colocar el asiento delpiloto.

Para instalar una nueva batería ejecu-tar las operaciones descritas en sen-tido inverso.

ATENCIÓN

PARA VOLVER A MONTARLA, PRIME-RO SE DEBE CONECTAR EL CABLEEN EL BORNE POSITIVO (+) Y LUEGOEL DEL BORNE NEGATIVO (-).

set to "OFF".• Remove the rider saddle.• Unscrew the two screws (1) and

remove the cover (2).• Loosen and remove the screw

(3) of the negative terminal (-).• Move the negative leads (4)

aside.• Loosen and remove the screws

aside.• Hold the battery (7) firmly and lift

it out of its compartment.• Put the battery away on a level

surface, in a cool and dry place.• Refit the rider seat.

To install a new battery follow the op-erations described above but in re-verse order.

• Remove the headlight (1).• Remove the cover (2), pressing

upwards, release the lower clipand slide the upper tab out of itsseat.

BOMBILLA LUZ DE CARRETERA

• Desconectar el conector (3).• Girar la tuerca de bloqueo en

sentido contrario a las agujasdel reloj y sacar el cuerpo de labombilla (4).

bombilla en el alojamiento co-rrespondiente y girarlo en elsentido de las agujas del relojhasta que quede bloqueado.

HIGH-BEAM LIGHT BULB

anticlockwise direction and re-move the bulb (4).

• Replace with a new identicalbulb.

• Reinstall the bulb in its seat andturn the locking device in clock-wise direction until it is tight.

• Connect the connector (3).

• Sujetar el conector eléctrico dela bombilla (5), tirar de él y des-conectarlo de la bombilla.

• Desenganchar los dos extre-mos del muelle de retención (6).

• Extraer la bombilla (7) de su alo-jamiento.

• Instalar correctamente, en elportalámparas, una bombilla delmismo tipo haciendo coincidirlas marcas de colocación.

• Vuelva a enganchar los muellesde retención (6).

• Conectar el conector (5).

LOW-BEAM LIGHT BULB

• Pull out the electrical connectionto the bulb (5), and disconnect itfrom the bulb.

• Press together the two ends ofthe retainer spring (6).

• Pull the bulb (7) out of its seat.• Install a bulb of the same type

correctly in the bulb holder,aligning the positioning seats.

• Refit the retainer springs (6).• Connect the connector (5).

Un mantenimiento adecuado constituyeun factor determinante para una mayorduración del vehículo en condiciones óp-timas de funcionamiento y rendimiento.

A tal fin Moto Guzzi dispuso una serie decontroles y de intervenciones de mante-nimiento a pagar, que se detallan en elcuadro sinóptico que se muestra en lapagina siguiente. Es recomendable queeventuales pequeñas anomalías de fun-cionamiento se informen inmediatamen-te al CONCESIONARIO o RevendedorAutorizado Moto Guzzi, sin esperar al si-guiente control periódico para remediar-lo.

Es indispensable realizar los controlesperiódicos en los intervalos de kilómetrosy tiempos prescritos, apenas se alcanzael kilometraje previsto. Los controles pe-riódicos de mantenimiento se debenefectuar puntualmente para la correctautilización de la garantía. Por cualquierotra información relacionada con la mo-dalidad de aplicación de la Garantía y laejecución del "Mantenimiento programa-do", remitirse al "Manual de Garantía".

Puños calefaccionados(07_02)

PULSADOR CALEFACCIÓN DE LOSPUÑOS

Con una presión prolongada del pulsadorse activa el dispositivo de calefacción delos puños. Para ajustar su intensidad serealizan presiones breves. Si se vuelve ahacer una presión prolongada se desac-tiva el dispositivo. Al apagar el motor eldispositivo de calefacción de los puñostambién se apaga; la próxima vez que seponga en marcha, el sistema se activaráen el último nivel de potencia seleccio-nado.

HAND GRIP HEATING BUTTON

Hold the button pressed to activate thehand grip heating system. Regulate thetemperature by pressing briefly. Holdingthe button pressed a second time deac-tivates the system. When the engine isswitched off, the hand grip heating sys-tem is also switched off. When the engineis started again, the hand grip heatingsystem is also switched on at the last se-lected intensity level.
