red dot award: product design 2007HANDHELD OMNIDIRECTIONAL LASER SCANNERCheck out its nicely streamlined and elegantly curved shape! The Sniper is an omnidirectional laser scanner while also supports single-line scanning function. Its detailed shape design creates the best handheld scanning experience, and, with a stand, it turns into a hands-free scanner. Good Design Award 2007HANDS-FREE DUAL-LASER OMNIDIRECTIONAL SCANNERBig-eye scanner, Z-6070, is a dual-laser omnidirectional scanner. Since its founding in 1987, ZEBEX has been dedicated to the Auto-ID industry for more than two decades. ONE DIMENSIONAL BARCODES1D Barcodes are widely used in today’s marketplace, usually printed along the long axis of the card. There are various 1D barcode systems in use, and relatively easy to integrate a 1D barcode encoding scheme into a software application because barcode formats are available as True Type fonts. However, 1D barcodes hold a limited amount of information (generally less than 40 characters) and the “height” of a barcode contains no information, but the higher the bar is made, the easier it may be to read when presented to a reader.Because of the read-only nature of barcodes and the limitations on data length, 1D barcodes are usually used to store a single unique character string used as a pass code in access control or other holder identification systems.

TWO DIMENSIONAL BARCODES2D Barcodes contain more information than conventional one dimensional barcodes. Conventional barcodes get wider as more data is encoded. 2D barcodes make use of the vertical dimension to pack in more data. The major advantage of a 2D barcodes is its data encoding capacity, with up to 500 bytes per square inch being feasible. PDF 4172 dimensional barcode that essentially consists of a stacked set of smaller barcodes, capable of encoding the 255 ASCII character set. A complete PDF 417 symbol consists of at least 3 rows of up to 30 code words and may contain up to 90 code word rows per symbol with a maximum of 928 code words per symbol.

MicroPDF 417MicroPDF 417 is a multi-row symbology based on PDF 417 designed for applications requiring a greater area efficiency but lower data capacity than PDF 417. MicroPDF 417 provides three encoding modes: text, byte and numeric compaction. Text is for general text, numeric for encoding data consisting only of digits reduced level of efficiency.

MaxiCodeMaxiCode is a fixed size matrix style symbology which is made of offset rows of hexagonal modules arranged around a unique bulls-eye finder pattern. Each Maxi Code symbol has 884 hexagonal modules arranged in 33 rows with each row contained up to 30 modules. The maximum capacity for a MaxiCode symbol is 93 alphanumeric characters or 138 numeric characters.

DataMatrix (ECC 200)DataMatrix is high degree of redundancy and resistance to printing defects and that makes it highly reliable. It has built-in error correction, but does not include human-readable data. The 2 dimensional matrix style barcode encodes up to 3,116 characters of 256 ASCII character set, Unicode characters and photos.

QR CodeQR Code is capable of handling several dozen to several hundred times more information in all types of format, such as numeric and alphabetic characters. Up to 7,089 characters can be encoded in one symbol. Since QR Code carries information both horizontally and vertically, it is capable of encoding the same amount of data in approximately one-tenth the space of a traditional barcode.

MicroQR CodeMicroQR Code is a very small QR Code that fits applications that require a smaller space and use smaller amounts of data, such as ID of printed circuit boards and electronics parts, etc.

Aztec CodeA high density 2 dimensional matrix style barcode symbology that can encode up to 3,750 characters from the entire 256 byte ASCII character set. The symbol is built on a square grid with a bull’s-eye pattern at its center. Data is encoded in a series of “layers” that circle around the bull’s-eye pattern.
