舞之韵：Dance Series

1. 摩纳哥蒙特卡罗芭蕾舞团 当代版芭蕾舞剧《睡美人》大师集结，名剧荟萃。创建于 1911 年的摩纳哥蒙特卡罗芭蕾舞团今年迎来百年诞辰，该团以其对古

典芭蕾精髓的忠实传承和独树一帜的创新精神而享誉世界。当代版芭蕾舞剧《睡美人》是近年来国际舞坛不可多得的经典作品改编成功范例，它既保留了传统芭蕾的精髓，又运用现代叙事方式和舞剧样式对原作重新解读，以其特有的淋漓酣畅的动作语言和简约大气的舞台风格，带给观众视觉、听觉、知觉的完美震撼。该作品接连获得“蒙特卡罗国际舞蹈论坛”颁发的“尼金斯基最佳编导奖”和意大利评论家协会颁发的“最佳舞蹈演出奖”。

现任艺术总监为让-克里斯多夫·马约，曾荣获摩纳哥公国文化功绩军官勋章和格里马耳底骑士勋章，以及法国艺术文学骑士勋章和荣誉军团骑士勋章。

Ballet La Belle by Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo

A collection of masters and classics, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Monaco, founded in 1911, holds its

centennial celebration this year. It is known to the world for its faithful inheritance to the essence of classical ballet

and unique spirit of innovation. La Belle is a successful example not only for a revised work in the international

dance scene, but also for a neoclassic ballet. It maintains the essence of traditional ballet while retranslating the

original work by modern style of description and dance. La Belle has obtained the Nijinsky award for the best

choreographic production of 2001 on the occasion of the Monaco Dance Forum in 2002, and the Danza & Danza

Prize for the best show 2002, awarded by the Italian critics.

Artistic Director Jean-Christophe Maillot is Officer of the Order of Cultural Merit and Chevalier of the Order

of Saint-Charles , in the Principality of Monaco, and also Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letter and Chevalier

of the Legion of Honour in France.

2. 比利时弗兰德斯皇家芭蕾舞团 大型芭蕾《帝王印象》弗兰德斯皇家芭蕾舞团是比利时唯一被冠以“皇家舞团”的古典芭蕾表演团体，在欧洲享有盛誉。舞

团艺术总监凯瑟琳•贝娜特是一位传奇舞者，曾在编舞大师威廉姆•弗塞斯的舞团中长期担任重要角色，被视为大师的“缪斯女神”。威廉姆·弗塞斯是蜚声国际的当代最伟大的编舞大师之一。其作品试图打破古典芭蕾的墨守成规，用充满生命力的现代艺术形式来展现人类形体之美，具有强烈的感染力和后现代艺术气息。

创于 1987 年的《帝王印象》，名称源于对 19 世纪沙皇时代日趋没落的古典芭蕾的嘲讽。全剧由“波特金的签名”、“悬挂在舞台”、“半价拍卖行”、“邦歌舞”以及“皮纳特先生走向高峰”五个部分组成。剧中舞蹈没有完整的故事情节，却引入了舞台表演的张力和动感，极富冲突感和生命力。舞剧先后受邀参加英国爱丁堡国际艺术节、美国林肯中心艺术节等国际最著名艺术节。2009 年，该团凭借《帝王印象》获得了劳伦斯·奥利弗（英国戏剧界最高奖项）最佳舞蹈奖。

Ballet Impressing the Czar by Royal Ballet of Flanders

Royal Ballet of Flanders is the only classical ballet group which is crowned as “royal” in Belgium. The artistic

director Kathryn Bennetts is a legendary dancer who has been regarded as Muse of William Forsythe in his ballet

company for years. William Forsythe is one of the greatest choreographers of our time. His works try to challenge

the scholasticism and routinism of classical ballet, by demonstrating the beauty of human body in modern art

forms, which is full of vitality, post-modernism and infectious attractions.

Impressing the Czar was premiered in its full-length version in 1987. The work's title is a reference to the

Czar Nicholas II's lukewarm reception of Marius Petipa's lavish production of The Sleeping Beauty. The three-act

work has five sections titled "Potemkin's Signature," "In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated," "La Masion de Mezzo

Prezzo," "Bongo Bongo Nageela," and "Mr. Pnut Goes to the Big Top". Though the work has no continuous

narrative theme, the ballet features tense and motion in stage performing, and is full of conflicts and vitality . They

were invited to perform in Edinburgh International Arts Festival, Lincoln Centre Arts Festival of America and other

top festivals where get critically acclaimed by local media. In 2009, their production received the Laurence Olivier

Award for the outstanding achievement in dance.

3. 日本 K&Q 株式会社 音乐舞剧《木兰》（黄豆豆、真琴翼等主演）音乐舞剧《木兰》依托妇孺皆知的“木兰从军”的故事，以木兰女扮男装、奋战疆场的事迹贯穿主线，

展现了战乱年代，木兰无奈地转换于两重性别之间的复杂心理。全剧以舞咏言，以乐感心，以诗尽意，采用中国传统文化与现代舞蹈等诸多元素，加之日本的传统艺术，使得古典题材焕发出崭新光彩，集中展示了人物的英雄主义精神以及忠孝两全的传统美德。青年舞蹈家黄豆豆反串主演花木兰，两重性别转换，二度化身男装，“从军”一场，颇具看点。

《木兰》汇集了中日一流的制作演出班底。剧中将军的扮演者由实力派艺术家、宝冢歌剧团明星演员真琴翼担纲。日本闻名遐迩的现代舞第一人森山开次先生，将出演敌方将领。出任导演及编舞的是日本舞蹈音乐剧及歌剧业界的著名编导上田遥先生，上田遥与黄豆豆携手共同为本剧编舞。有“雅乐贵公子”美称的东仪秀树先生出任舞剧音乐总监。剧中还将邀请被誉为日本太鼓第一人皮克野修一先生现场展示精彩绝伦的东方鼓艺。该剧世界首演将于 2010 年 9月初在日本东京艺术剧场举行，本届艺术节将是该剧的中国首演。

Musical Dance Drama Mulan by K&Q Co. Ltd, Japan (featured by Doudou Huang, Makoto Tsubasa,

etc.)

The dance drama Mulan is based on the well-known Chinese folk story Mulan joins in her father’s place in

the army, taking as the plot Mulan’s pretending to be a male soldier and fighting in the battlefield, expressing

Mulan’s complexity deep inside for the gender crossover. Mulan combines the elements of traditional Chinese and

Japanese culture and contemporary dance, shedding new lights on this classical story. In the drama dance, music

and poems are all applied to express the heroism of the characters and the pursuit of the loyalty to the country and

the piety to the parents. Young Chinese dancer Huang Doudou acts Mulan with many highlights in acts like “Join

in the Army”.

The artistic cooperation in Mulan attracts many first-class artists and producers of the two countries. Famous

Japanese actress Makoto Tsubasa of Takarazuka Revue acts the General in the dance drama; the well-known

Japanese first contemporary dancer Kaiji Moriyama will act the foe General. Haruka Ueda, who has great fame in

Japanese musical drama and opera, takes the position of director and choreographer of Mulan. Huang Doudou also

will be the choreographer, together with Mr.Ueda. Hideki Togi, known as the Prince of Gagaku, will be the music

director of Mulan. Hidano Shuichi, who plays Taiko second to none in Japan will also be invited to show in this

drama.

Mulan will have its world premier in September this year in Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space, and its show in

the CSIAF will be its première in China.

4. 智利圣地亚哥国家芭蕾舞团 芭蕾舞精品晚会　智利圣地亚哥国家芭蕾舞团是南美最优秀的芭蕾舞团之一，具有一定的国际影响力。成立于 1959

年，创建人是舞蹈家奥克塔维奥•辛多莱希。舞团剧目囊括了古典、新古典主义和近现代作品。现年 73岁的艺术总监玛希娅•海蒂为智利艺术界的骄傲，曾任斯图加特芭蕾舞团首席芭蕾舞女演员 ,保持明星地位长达 40 多年，是 20 世纪最著名的芭蕾舞女演员之一。2004 年，海蒂被巴西总统授予国家文化功勋勋章，2009 年，又被授予德国最高勋章-联邦星十字勋章。她的到来为舞团注入了新的动力，促使整个舞团走上国际化道路，在拉丁美洲地区声誉日隆。此次演出的节目风格多样，不仅上演《睡美人》、《葛佩里亚》、《堂吉诃德》、《舞姬》等经典芭蕾舞剧选

段，还包括以探戈音乐为灵感的现代芭蕾等充满浓郁拉美风情的节目。Gala Night of Ballet de Santiago, Chile

As an influential ballet in the world, Ballet de Santiago is one of the most outstanding ballets in South

America. Founded in 1959 by dance artist Octavio Cintolesi, Ballet de Santiago has the repertoires involving

performance styles of classic, neoclassical and modern works. The artistic director of the company Marcia Haydée

has been the chief female dancer of the Stuttgart Ballet, and she is one of the most famous dancers in the 20 th

century. The 73-year-old Haydée has kept her star fame for 40 years. In 2004, Haydée was awarded the Cultural

Merit Medal by Brazilian State President and in March 2009 Germany honored her with the Federal Merit Cross

award. She has injected new impetus to the dance company, making the entire team stand on the international

stage, and gained more reputation in the Latin American region.

The repertoires of Ballet de Santiago this time in Shanghai involve ballet like Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Don

Quixote, La Bayadere, etc., as well as modern Ballet inspired by Tango and other South American programs.

5. 韩国佩特龙舞蹈团 新创舞剧《龙珠》佩特龙舞蹈团由韩国国家舞蹈团首席舞蹈家宰贤宇任艺术总监。宰贤宇致力于向全球推广韩国都市舞

蹈，他最近导演的国家舞蹈团 90周年创意季演出《韩国，向日葵》，好评如潮。他的作品还包括韩中 5周年友好纪念演出、法国世界杯闭幕演出等。

舞剧《龙珠》以韩国传统民族舞蹈，结合现代舞、韩国武术等新元素，演绎出一个跨越时空跌宕起伏的神话故事。该剧舞蹈飘逸灵动，具有鲜明的民族特色和创新意识，呈现出优雅与力量的完美平衡。舞剧在意大利等欧洲国家巡演时深受好评。

Karma by Patron Dance Company, Korea

Jae-Kyun Woo is the artistic director of Patron Dance Company, who is the leading dancer of Korean

National Dance Company. He is committed to promote Korean city dance to the world. Creational performance

Korea, Sunflower that is to celebrate the 90th anniversary of National Dance Company, directed by Jae-Hyun Woo,

obtained great fames. His works have also been played on 5th anniversary performances of friendship between

China and Korea and Closing Ceremony of World Cup France.

Dance Drama Karma integrates traditional Korean dance, modern dance, and Korean martial art etc., telling

a myth with undulating plots that crosses the time and space. The dances of the Company are elegant and posses

distinct national character and creative ideas, which take on perfect balance of grace and power. The dance drama

was well received when they toured in Italy and some other European countries.

6. 美国“律动城市”街舞团 《街舞‘秀中秀’》专场演出 “律动城市”街舞团创始人及编导为阿朗索·威廉姆斯，该团是“全美街舞大赛第四季最酷Hip-Hop

团体”，曾获 NBC 美国舞林大赛“美国街舞之王”称号。主演多米尼克•罗萨里奥，是美国 MTV全美街舞大赛获奖者之一。该团街舞融入了芭蕾、弗拉明戈、现代舞等元素，创作灵感源自纽约丰富多彩，五光十色的生活，以及那里的热爱生活、时尚友善、勤奋努力的人们。

《街舞‘秀中秀’》分为“纽约生活”、“魅惑城市”、“浪漫的爱”以及“展望幸福”四部分。演出以其杰出编排和精湛舞技，以及幽默诙谐的表演风格，诠释了嘻哈音乐与舞蹈的本质，呈现出原汁原味的纽约黑人文化特色，深受中外青年观众喜爱。

Bravishow by American “Rhythm City” Hip-Pop Group

Bravishow is a song & dance program particularly created for this Chinese tour by Alonso Williams, the founder

and director of American Dancing Group “Rhythm City”. It is composed of four parts named as “Daily Life in

New York”, “Charming City”, “Romantic Love” and “Prospecting Happiness”. The show has revealed the essence

of hip-hop through its excellent composition and dancing skills. Its pure specialties of hip-hop culture are popular

around young audience at home and abroad. The hip-hop of Rhythm City applies Ballet, Flamenco, modern dance

and other elements with the inspiration from the colorful life and friendly, fashionable and diligent people in New

York. The dominant dancer, Dominque Rosario, is one of the winners in American MTV National Hip-Hop

Competition. And he has become the up-rising star in the field of R & B and pop music by means of his first album

Enough.

7. 俄罗斯圣彼得堡冰上芭蕾舞团《天鹅湖》、《灰姑娘》、《睡美人》建于 1967 年的圣彼得堡冰上芭蕾舞剧团，是世界唯一能在冰上演绎古典芭蕾舞全剧的演出团体。创建

者康斯坦丁·伯亚尔斯基(1915-1974)，为饮誉全球的圣彼得堡基洛夫剧院芭蕾舞团的主要演员和编导。团长及编导康斯担丁·拉萨金，是著名芭蕾舞蹈家、俄罗斯功勋演员。自 1980 年担任该团首席编导以来，他先后编排出柴可夫斯基的三大舞剧《天鹅湖》、《胡桃夹子》、《睡美人》以及《浪漫诗篇》等作品。作品熔铸古典芭蕾与花样滑冰技巧，既有冰上运动所特有的优美流畅，又有芭蕾艺术所独具的高贵典雅，展现出力量、技术、修养和乐感四者的完美结合。

此次访华演出，该团带来四十余名冰上芭蕾明星，其中有不少是全俄罗斯和国际花样滑冰比赛的大奖获得者。

Ice Ballet Swan Lake, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty by St. Petersburg State Ice Ballet

Founded in 1967, St. Petersburg State Ice Ballet is the only group that can perform classical ballet on ice. The

founder Konstantin Boyarsky (1915-1974), is the leading actor and director of the Kirov Theatre in St. Petersburg.

The leader and director, Konstantin Rassadin is a famous ballet dancer and merited artist of Russia. After he was

appointed as the head of the Ballet in 1980, he has choreographed Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, The Nutcracker,

Sleeping Beauty, Romantic Poems, etc. These works integrate the skills of classical ballet and figure skating,

presenting not only the smooth of ice-skating, but also the grace of ballet, which shows the perfect combination of

power, skill, self-cultivation and sense of music.

Over 40 ice ballet stars will take part in the China tour this time, and quite a few of them are known athletes,

who are winners of figure skating in Russia and in the world.

8. 上海芭蕾舞团时尚原创芭蕾舞剧《马可·波罗—最后的使命》中国首部时尚原创芭蕾舞剧《马可·波罗——最后的使命》。该剧以古典芭蕾的形式，描绘了马可·波罗

在护送阔阔真公主远嫁波斯途中所经历的艰险和奇闻，展现了中国古代、印度、波斯等神秘国度的异域风情，倾诉了两人间真挚凄美的爱情故事。不同风格的东西方艺术融合，蛇舞、印度舞、阿拉伯舞、野人舞等特色鲜明的舞蹈段落，与宫廷舞相融合，将为观众带来一场典雅高贵的芭蕾盛宴。

该剧由上海芭蕾舞团、国际时装大师皮尔·卡丹联合出品，法国巴黎歌剧院明星演员、编舞何塞·马丁内斯担当编导；奥斯卡颁奖典礼音乐总监、曾为《欲望都市》谱曲的美国作曲家丹尼尔·沃克作曲；上芭国际获奖演员孙慎逸、范晓枫、吴虎生、季萍萍担纲主演。

Ballet Marco Polo—The Last Mission by Shanghai Ballet

The first original modern Ballet in China，Marco Polo—The Last Mission describes with the loan of classic

ballet, those dangers and anecdotes that Marco Polo experienced on the way he escorted Princess Cogatra to Persia.

The journey gives a picture of exotic cultures from several oriental countries such as ancient China, India and

Persia, focusing on an exceedingly sentimental love story between the hero and the heroine. A great ballet with

nobleness and elegance including various kinds of special dances like Snake Dance, Indian dance, Arabic dance,

savage dance, combined with court dance, all can feast the eyes of audience.

The ballet is a co-production of Shanghai Ballet and famous couturier Pierre Cardin. It is equipped with a

quite strong lineup. Jose Martinez, the leading actor and choreographer from Paris Opera Ballet takes the post as

the director. American composer Daniel Walker, music director of Oscar Victory Ceremonies, and one of the

composers for The Desire City, wrote the music for the ballet. And the international prizes winners Sun Zhenyi,

Fan Xiaofeng, Wu Husheng and Ji Pingping from Shanghai Ballet assume the principal dancers.

9. 甘肃省歌舞剧院新版舞剧《丝路花雨》新版舞剧《丝路花雨》，以敦煌壁画和丝绸之路为题材，以和平、友谊为主题，通过敦煌画工神笔张和

女儿英娘与波斯商人患难与共、生死相交的故事，以别具一格的艺术风格，将敦煌壁画搬上舞台，形象地再现了敦煌文化的博大，歌颂了劳动人民创造敦煌文化的光辉艺术形象和中外人民友谊源远流长的动人故事。

2008 年新版经典民族舞剧《丝路花雨》，获 2009 年甘肃省国庆 60周年新创剧目调演获“剧目大奖”和 26个单项一等奖，为北京国庆 60周年献礼优秀演出剧目，被誉为“中国民族舞剧的典范”，在我国舞蹈史上产生了深远的影响，在中国和世界舞坛上，具有无可比拟的品牌价值。

With the world-renowned Dunhuang frescos and the Silk Road as its material, peace and friendship as its

theme, Silk Road, Flower Rain successfully dramatizes the magnificent Dunhuang frescos in a unique artistic style,

narrating a story of friendship and love among the fresco master painter Zhang, his daughter Yingniang and a

Persian merchant. It represents the richness of Dunhuang culture, extols the shining image of working people who

created the Dunhuang culture, and narrates a moving story of the long-lasting friendship between Chinese people

and peoples of other nations.

The national dance drama Silk Road, Flower Rain was created by Gansu Song and Dance Theater in 2008. In

2009, a new version dedicated to the 60th Anniversary of the National Day won the title as the “Best Drama” and 1st

places in other 26 awards, as well as the reputation of “the model of Chinese national dance”. It has exerted a

profound influence in the history of Chinese dance drama with its unparalleled value as a cultural brand.

10. 杭州歌舞剧院大型歌舞诗剧《和平颂》大型歌舞诗剧《和平颂》以“祈福世界和平•构筑和谐社会”为主旨，以佛教诞生传入中国的历史为线

索，分《祈福》、《吉祥》、《墨舞》、《唐卡》、《飞天》、《和平》等 12个章节，用歌舞、武术、器乐等形式，表现了敦煌艺术、西藏的夏鲁寺艺术、少林武术禅等中华民族传统文化，阐述了佛教文化与中华民族的儒、道文化的相互渗透，共生共荣的过程。

该剧力求通过歌舞、音乐将佛教色彩与江南文化巧妙结合，意寓对“和谐社会”的追求。“2007-

2008 年度”获得国家文化部优秀出口文化产品和服务项目，为中华民族文化宝库中一朵灿烂的奇葩。 艺术总监：韩美林 艺术指导：张继钢 导演：崔巍 作曲：张千一Large-Scale Dance Drama Ode to Peace by Hangzhou Song & Dance Theatre

“Pray for the peace of the world and construct a harmonious society” is set as the theme of the large-scale dance

drama Ode to Peace. It develops along the main line of the birth of Buddhism and its history of transmission in

China. The show is composed of twelve parts, including “Blessing”, “Auspice”, “Apsaras” and “Peace”, etc.

Through various ways of expression like dance, martial arts, instrumental music, drama, and so on, it displays

Dunhuang art, Tibetan art, martial arts of Shaolin and other traditional Chinese cultural elements, which aims to

illustrate the interaction among Buddhist culture and Chinese Confucian and Taoist culture.

The dance skillfully combines Buddhist culture with that of the South Yangtze Delta to symbolize social

harmony. Ode to Peace has been awarded the 2007-2008 excellent export cultural product and project by the

Ministry of Culture. And it has become an art treasure in Chinese culture.

11. 贵州省册亨县幸福亨通艺术团、四川大学艺术团、北京城市当代舞蹈团大型布依族民族现生态舞剧《利悠热谐谐》

布依族现生态舞剧《利悠热谐谐》用舞剧的形式，表现布依族生生不息、代代传承的主题，歌颂了布依族人民的智慧和民族生活，开创了布依族音乐舞蹈诗剧的先河。全剧由“大鱼出水”、“浪哨”、“新婚没有夜”、“丰收·孕子”、“哑面生与死”、“神鼓通天”六个章节组成，融合了布依族的歌、舞、戏等原生态艺术形式以及现代艺术表演形式，反映了布依族人民独特的审美情趣、价值观念和文化取向，展现了民族的生命力和布依族独有的风土民情。

布依语“利悠热谐谐”意指“幸福亨通”。布依族文化艺术绚丽多彩，有魅力独特的八音坐唱、布依山歌、浪哨、古歌、酒歌，有传统舞蹈铜鼓舞、织布舞、狮子舞、糖包舞等。布依戏于 2005 年被列为国家级非物质文化遗产，板万的布依仪式性傩戏“哑面”被誉为“古代戏剧的活化石”。该剧编舞滕爱民亲自上台表演，同时崔强作为特邀演员与其他青年演员唐琳佳、吴梦、李程、廖越等联袂出演。

Buyi Ethnic Dance Drama Happiness and Wealth unfolds the generation-old theme of life and growth of the

Buyi peopl, praising their wisdom in life, creating an unprecedented example for Buyi music and dance drama.

Composed of six chapters, i.e. “Big Fish out of Water”, “Wave Whistle”, “Wedding without Night”,

“Harvest/Conceiving A Child”, “Life and Death Ritual” and “Magic Drum”, the drama melts Buyi singing,

dancing, drama and modern forms of arts into a pot, reflecting the unique aesthetics, value and culture, as well as

the vitality and local custom of the minority.

In Buyi language, “Li You Re Xie Xie” means “happiness and wealth”. Their culture and art are colorful,

which involves octave singing, folk songs, wave whistle, ancient songs, songs for drinking and also traditional

dances such as copper drum dance, weaving dance, lion dance, sugar packets dance, etc. And Buyi play has been

listed as national intangible cultural heritage in 2005. Ritual Nuo play “Dumb Face” of Banwan has been named as

a “Living Fossil of Ancient Play”. The choreographer Teng Aimin takes over a role in the show. And specially

invited actor Cui Qiang, together with other youth actors like Tang Linjia, Wu Meng, Li Cheng, Liao Yue, is among

the leading cast.

1．以色列爱乐乐团音乐会（指挥：祖宾·梅塔） 以色列爱乐乐团是由著名波兰犹太小提琴大师布罗尼斯拉夫•胡伯曼组建的音乐团体。成立之初，乐

团就得到“由独奏家组成的交响乐团”的美称。自 1962 年起，印籍犹太指挥家祖宾•梅塔开始担任该团音乐总监，他对音乐的处理既明快而又充满活力，擅长指挥后期浪漫主义作曲家如布鲁克纳、马勒和理查·

Founded by the famous Polish Jewish violinist Bronislaw Huberman, The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra has

been regarded as “Orchestra of soloists”. Since 1962, Indian Jew Zubin Mehta has been the artistic director of the

Israel Philharmonic Orchestra for 40 years. His conducting is renowned as being flamboyant, vigorous and

forceful. He received praise early in his career for dynamic interpretations of the large-scale symphonic music of

Anton Bruckner, Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss and so on. He has trained the orchestra to reach a highly skillful

level. The bright and mild string is like velvet, which is second to not any top orchestra. Over these years, he has

made profound friendship with Chinese people. In 1998, he visited China for the third time and conducted

Puccini’s Turandot in the Fobidden City, Beijing.

Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1840. Vasily Petrenko is the current Principal

Conductor of the Orchestra. Born in St. Petersburg in 1976, he was Resident Conductor at the St Petersburg State

Opera and Ballet Theatre, who has cooperated with many famous international groups.

The Orchestra will organize three concerts of different styles: a classical concert, a John Lennon Song Book

Concert and a Back to the Future School Concert. Works of Elgar and Shostakovich will be played in the classical

concert, while John Lennon Song Book is an ingenious attempt, which involves famous jazz singer from England

and film stars, including 20 songs of John Lennon, the soul of the Beatles. The school concert will focus on

creativity with the programme ranging from classical works to movie soundtracks and the Chinese folksong

Molihua (Jasmine).

Sir James Galway, "The Man with the Golden Flute", a living legend, is the most influential flutist of our

time. He was born in a family with flutists. In 1975, Sir James launched his solo career. Her Majesty Queen

Elizabeth II of England has honored him with a Knighthood for services to music in 2001. Galway’s fame is far

beyond the classical music circle. He also works quite well in jazz, world music, film music and pop music. His

records have won the platinum music prize, golden music prize and the Grammy. His wife, Jeanne Galway is also a

famous flutist. A Collection of Personal Favorites is released by Sony Music this year in celebration of James

Galway’s 70th birthday.

Shanghai Symphony Orchestra is the earliest and the best-known ensemble of its kind in Asia, through which

the Chinese symphonic music develops. It performed in 11 cities in the US in 2003; while in 2004, it toured Europe

to celebrate the Sino-French Cultural Year. In 2005, it had a tour concert in four cities of Spain. In 2007, the

Orchestra got a warm feedback when it performed in Vienna Musikverein. Its 125 th Anniversary Celebration

Concert given at the Berliner Philharmonie (the first Chinese symphony orchestra to play in this hall), was hailed

as a great success.

Galway’s cooperation with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra will be his first performance in Shanghai with a

large-scale orchestra. He will bring the audiences the repertoires of Mozart, such as The Marriage of Figaro, Magic

Flute Overture, etc. Besides, he will perform Magic Flute Overture K.620, etc. with his wife as a flute duet.

4. 著名美籍华裔小提琴演奏家林昭亮与上海交响乐团音乐会（指挥：余隆）林昭亮是当今世界最杰出的华人小提琴家之一，演奏精致、柔美，琴声细腻清秀。17岁赢得西班牙苏

菲亚皇后小提琴国际大赛。1981 年，他作为大陆邀请的第一位台湾音乐家来上海和北京访问演出，给内地观众留下深刻印象。1997 年，林昭亮创办了台北国际音乐节；2000 年，他被《音乐美国》年鉴选为当年的“年度器乐演奏家”。

Cho-Liang Lin is one of the most distinguished Chinese violinists in the world. He is lauded the world

over for the eloquence and mildness of his playing and for the superb musicianship that marks his performances.

He won the Queen Sophia of Spain International Violin Competition when he was 17. In 1981, he came to perform

in Shanghai and Beijing as the first Taiwan musician ever since. He founded the Taipei International Music Festival

in 1997. Musical America named him as "Instrumentalist of the Year" in 2000.

The concert will be conducted by Long Yu, the current music director of the Shanghai Symphony

Orchestra. Long Yu has appeared with the world’s major orchestras and opera companies, including the Rundfunk

Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic, etc.. Long Yu’s repertoires

involve different fields and times and he is especially famous for conducting opera. He successfully conducted La

Traviata, Turandot , Carmen and other famous works. In 2003, French government granted him “Knight of the

French Literature and Art”.

In this concert, the SSO will play Lalo’s Spanish Symphony with Cho-Liang Lin as soloist, Dvorak’s

Symphony No.9 in E minor and some other classical repertoires.

Its history over 50 years has matured the Camerata into one of the best chamber orchestras. The Camerata

Salzburg was formed in 1988 from the ensemble of the Mozart Serenade concerts, inherited and developed the

essence of Vienna classical music.The Camerata was founded in 1952 by Bernhard Paumgartner as Camerata

Academica des Mozarteums Salzburg. Regular invitations to the Carinthian Summer as well as to Salzburg’s

Mozartwoche are complemented by the Camerata’s own three-day “Begegnung” Festival, in their home town.

The repertoires include Mozart’s Divertimento D-Major KV 136, Galimathias Musicum KV 32 (Excerpts),

Sinfonia concertante Es-Dur KV 364 and Dvorak’s Serenade E-Dur op. 22, which will be performed by violinist

Lukas Hagen and violist Iris Juda-Hagen. The precious instruments - the violins used by Mozart in 18th century,

will be the hot topic for fans in Shanghai.

“Mozart” Violin

This violin was made by Ägydius Klotz in Mittenwald, Bavaria, Germany in the second half of 18 th Century.

In his early years, Mozart had played this violin in a chamber concert and was deeply impressed by its “silver

sound ”. Later, before he went to Vienna, he gave the violin to his sister in Salzburg.

“Mozart” Viola

This viola was made in Italy in early 18 th Century, but its scroll was of German origin. This viola has been

used by several famous violinists. In 1966, it was bought and collected by International Mozart Foundation .

As one of the famous chamber orchestra in the world, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester was founded by Karl

Münchinger in 1945. It establishes its reputation for the great interpretation of Baroque music and modern music.

Most of its instruments are the treasure pieces of ancient Rome and Germany in the 17th-18th century, which are

valuable with excellent timbre. Among them, the most precious and oldest are the Stradivarius violin of 1724 and

the Guarnerius violin of 1776. For more than half of the century, the Orchestra has frequently toured all over the

Boni Pueri Boys Choir, Czech，is one of the top-notch treble choirs in Europe. It shares a high reputation for

its excellent skills, gorgeous performance and the members of childlike innocence. Pavel Horak became the

president of the choir in 1991, and six years later he was the artistic director. Dr. Horak has given more than one

thousand concerts with the choir on concert tours around the world.

The repertoire Boni Pueri Boys Choir bringing to Shanghai this time includes those world famous songs as

well as the traditional songs of Czech. The first half of the concert is featured by European classical music, which

Recital by Hungarian pianist Jenő Jandó

Hungarian pianist Jenő Jandó is one of the most productive pianists in the history of music recording in the

world. Known for his warm and lyric style, he has won the first prize in the 1973 Hungarian Piano Concours and

first prize in the chamber-music category at the Sydney International Piano Competition in 1977. Jenő Jandó has a

repertoire covering the period from classical to modern times, works of schools from Bach, Beethoven, Liszt,

Schumann, Schubert, Brahms, Haydn, Bartók, Chopin to many other composers, and music genre from solo, trio to

concerto.

Jandó will bring to the Chinese audiences for the first time Mozart’s Fantasy in D Minor, KV.397,

Recital by Chinese American pianist Hung-Kuan Chen

He once amazed the international music field with his album of Beethoven and Chopin’s piano sonatas and

won seven prizes among nine top international piano competitions. As one of the pianists with the greatest

personalities of the music world - enigmatic, brilliant and versatile, he has uncompromising individuality and a

remarkably inspiring pedagogue. In 1992, his right hand suffered serious neurological damage in an accident and

he was told that he could not expect to play again. However, through self-practice of Qigong (a traditional Chinese

meditation technique) he has regained his ability on the stage. Hung-Kuan Chen is one of the pianists who won the

most prizes in international music field, including "the most outstanding artist" title of Royal College of Music in

Canada. He was also praised as “one of the most authorized interpreter of Beethoven’s works”.

The concert in Shanghai will present a series of classical repertoires including Brahms’ Klavierstücke, Op.

118, Schumann’s Fantasie, Op. 17 and Liszt’s Sonata in B minor.

Commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of Chopin recital by Israeli pianist Arie Vardi

Arie Vardi is one of the best pianists in Israel, who has cooperated with the masters like Zubin

Mehta, Kurt Masur, etc. Also as a world-renowned piano educator he has taught Chen Sa, Li Yundi

and many other excellent young pianists. Among his students, there are over 30 winners of

international piano competitions. Recently, he focuses on the impressionist works and plays all the

works of Debussy and Ravel. In the music season of 1999-2000, he conducted Israel Chamber

Orchestra and presented five concert series, which include 12 concertos from the time of Bach to the

21st century. The audiences will have the chance to appreciate his understanding and interpretation of

Chopin’s works, such as Mazurka, Polonaise, Waltz.

Multimedia Concert “Planet String” by MASS Ensemble, US

Known as the “Music Magician”, MASS (Music, Architecture, Sonic, Sculpture) is an internationally

renowned performance group that combines unique musical sculptures and site-specific installations with

traditional instrumentation. MASS Ensemble is specially known for its unique large-scale musical instruments.

Described by the ABC TV as “the ultimate musical instrument”, The Earth Harp is “the world’s largest stringed

instrument”, designed and created by Artistic Director William. The name of “Earth Harp” is originated from its

premiere above one huge valley with the strings spanning over 1000 feet.

The installation of the Earth Harp makes the venue itself, no matter it is a theatre or an outdoor plaza; it

becomes a musical instrument, rendering extraordinary experiences of a musical performance from inside an huge

instrument.

MASS is equipped with many invented instruments and featured by its live performance and multimedia

displaying. It has performed in John F Kennedy Center for performing arts, Lincoln Center, Colosseum and etc.

As a Dutch orchestra with a long history, Malando Orchestra was once nominated as the best light music

orchestra in the world. Current conductor Danny Malando is the third-generation leader of the Orchestra, who is

known to the world for his combination of light music, dances and songs. Danny Malando is a very dazzling star in

not only modern European and American music circle, but also in the circle of film and entertainment. As a film

producer, host, composer and pop music producer, he has recorded with the Orchestra 30 albums and CDs,

including DVDs published by Bertelsmann, since he took over the orchestra.

13. 日本万帕斯流行乐团 演唱会 日本顶尖流行乐团万帕斯是近年来备受瞩目的摇滚新团体，其演出充满华丽的神秘和性感之风。乐团

Concert by pop band VAMPS, Japan

Composed of two Japanese rock stars Hyde and guitarist K.A.Z (Kazuhito Iwaike), VAMPS is a mysterious

and sexy band which has gained more and more attention recently. Hyde and K.A.Z hold tour concerts around the

world and released their first single Love Is Endless when they just formed VAMPS. VAMPS has already released

six singles and one album, toured over 100 lives in the last two years and its schedule this year will be filled with

new-release (including a brand new album BEAST), promotions along with the releases, and the most important -

crazy fun live performances. Furthermore, this year VAMPS will step into the world stage, touring not only Japan

and U.S.A but also Asia, Europe and South America, including two shows in Shanghai Gymnastic Center , which

will be part of the 12th Shanghai International Arts Festival. They have also been invited to join the EXPO 2010 to

Founded in 1899, Royal Dutch Wind Orchestra Philomena gets its reputation for its exquisite and precise

interpretation of musical works, as well as solid and warm rendering. The artistic director is Ron Daelemans, a

gifted conductor who studied at Royal Netherlands Academy of Music and the Paris Conservatory of Music. He

studied conducting, chamber music and symphony in Austria and Italy and stands up the authority of music in

Holland. Music Times of Europe once described his music as joys of feeling the Tulips by adding a sense of

romance to Holland.

Royal Dutch Wind Orchestra Philomena will bring us not only the famous pieces like The Lord of The Rings,

Duet from Don Carlo- Trombone, Radetzky Marsch etc., but also classic Chinese folk songs like Red Flag Ode,

Based on the favorite film Farewell, My Concubine, the opera Chant for Farewell in four acts sets the

backdrop of the opera against Peking opera and the life of its artists. By means of the style of a “show in show”

opera, it reflects the humanity and human living conditions, which highlight the deep-rooted philosophy in Chinese

traditional culture.

The opera is a lyric tragedy, which focuses on revealing the affection from the deep inside of its characters and

people’s virtues as well. With vocal music throughout, it strives to unify the aesthetics of diverse levels, such as

those of opera, nation, voice, characters and even common people like you and me

Jointly created by Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Shanghai Opera House, Opera Chant for Farewell has a cast

16. 上海爱乐乐团《东方迴响·上海记忆》中国交响乐原创交响会《东方迴响》是一部专为 2010 年上海世博会而新创作的交响作品。作品紧紧围绕“东方破晓，一个伟

大的民族屹立于世界的东方”的主题，以“东方破晓” 、“苦难的往事” 、“无穷动” 、“和谐之天籁” 和“屹立东方” 五个乐章的大型交响乐队与少量的中国民族乐器及大合唱构成，呈现出中国翻天覆地的发展历程。

《东方迴响》由中央音乐学院作曲系副教授刘湲，上海爱乐乐团团长吴孝明等创作；《上海记忆》由作曲家葛甘孺创作。由上海爱乐乐团演出，著名指挥家汤沐海为现任音乐总监、旅奥青年指挥家张亮担任乐团指挥。

Reverie of the East is a symphony commissioned by 2010 Shanghai World EXPO. Its five sections entitled

“Dawn in the East ”, “Miserable Past”, “Endless Moving”, “Harmonious Sound” and “Rise in the East”, are

represented with a large-scale symphony orchestra, several Chinese traditional instruments and a chorus to

highlight the earth-shaking development of China, matching the theme “With dawn in the East, a great nation is

rising. ”

Reverie of the East is composed by Professor Liu Yuan of the Central Conservatory of Music, Director Wu

Xiaoming, of Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra; Memory of Shanghai is composed by Ge Ganru. The concert is

performed by Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of youth conductor Zhang Liang, with Tang

Muhai as art director.

17. 上海爱乐乐团《奉献》陈钢——协奏曲音乐会陈钢是中国当代著名的交响音乐作曲家，早年师从父亲陈歌辛和匈牙利钢琴家瓦拉学习作曲和钢琴。

他与何占豪合作之小提琴协奏曲《梁祝》蜚声中外乐团，他创作的“红色小提琴系列”——小提琴独奏曲：“苗岭的早晨”、“金色的炉台”和“阳光照耀着塔什库尔干”等成为著名的小提琴音乐文献。半个世纪以来，陈钢的小提琴作品一直在国内外舞台上广为演奏，并以浓郁的民族情调和丰富的当代作曲技巧的巧妙融合而见长。

该场音乐会由著名指挥曹鹏执棒，旅美钢琴家陈洁担纲钢琴独奏，旅美小提琴家夏小曹担任小提琴独奏，琵琶诗人王乙宴担任琵琶演奏，来自美国的高百达将表演双簧管独奏。

Chen Gang Concerto Concert Contribution by Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra

Chen Gang is the famous symphonic composer of contemporary China. His early apprenticeship in

composing and piano was spent respectively with his father Chen Gexin and a Hungary pianist in Shanghai. His

violin concerto Butterfly Lovers cooperated with He Zhanhao is popular at home and abroad. The Red Violin Series

he composed, such as the violin solo pieces Morning of a Miao Village, Steel-melting Furnace in Sunshine,

Sunlight on the Mount Tashkurgan, have come into Chinese favorite violin repertoires. Since the 1950s, his violin

works have often been heard both in this country and around the world. He excels in combining traditional Chinese

sentiments and contemporary composing skills of the West.

The concert is under the baton of the celebrated senior conductor Cao Peng, with Chen Jie as solo pianist, Xia

Xiaocao as solo violinist, Wang Yiyan as pipa soloist and Peter Cooper from U.S.A as oboe soloist.

Arts Developing Co. Ltd, the "East Asia All Stars Concert Shanghai 2010" will take place at Shanghai Hongkou

Football Stadium on the evening of Oct.23rd , 2010 (Saturday). The concert is one of the programs that Hong Kong

Special Administrative Region presents for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo (Shanghai Expo). It is also the last

large-scale program of the Hong Kong series activities in Shanghai Expo.

1. 德国巴伐利亚戏剧学院版话剧《狗镇 II：曼德勒庄园》话剧《曼德勒庄园》改编自丹麦鬼才导演拉斯·冯·提尔的同名影片。该剧是慕尼黑导演约亨•舒尔希携

《狗镇》原班主创所献演的续集之作，由德国巴伐利亚戏剧学院演出。话剧讲述了女主人公格蕾斯离开狗镇后，带领曼德勒庄园的黑奴们废除奴隶制、追寻民主自由的故事。全剧延续了《狗镇》布莱希特式的舞台表现手法，以极简的长条木凳和木桌营造多重舞台空间。面具的巧妙运用以及表演形体的程式化、木偶化处理，呈现出冷静而又不失舞台表现力的戏剧效果。巴伐利亚戏剧学院成立于 1993 年。学院在 2007 年获得了由“国际歌剧”杂志主办的年度评论研究

Drama “Manderlay” by Bavarian Theatre Academy

This year the talent young director Jochen Schölch will bring the same production team and actors of Dogville

to the stage of the 12th China Shanghai International Arts Festival once again with drama Manderlay, which is the

sequel of Dogville and the second part of Lars von Trier’s USA – Land of Opportunities. Manderlay will be

performed by Bavarian Theatre Academy, Germany. It tells the story of Grace’s experience in a manor named

Manderlay after her leaving Dogville. There the crude slavery system still exists and Grace doesn’t surrender to the

threat of the old powerful forces and leads the black slaves to fight against slavery system to pursuit freedom,

democracy and a new self-conscience. Drama Manderlay was presented in the same Brecht-style as in Dogville,

using extremely simple wooden benches and tables to create different stage spaces, such as huts, double beds,

harvester, planer, cars and etc. All actors in the play are wearing hand-made masks and are changing their roles at

times. Also, actors use vocal mimicry and superb performance to imitate the sound of storm during harvest time.

Drama Manderlay not only strengthens all conflicts in the story but also fastens its development and brings a

unique aesthetic experience to the audiences, presenting a calm and impressive theatric reinterpretation.

Bavarian Theatre Academy was founded in 1993. The academy was nominated for five awards hosted by the

Opernwelt magazine in 2007.The director, Jochen Schölch, was born in 1966. He entered into Bavarian Theatre

Academy in 1998 and won the Schwabinger Kunstpreis granted by Munich government. His main works include

Multi-media musical The Ark touches on the most popular topics of the day - environmental protection and

bio-diversity. It integrates animation, drama, circus performing and other means of artistic expression, staging

human reflection on natural environment and requests from the nature.

It also melts with classic, contemporary music and new techniques. The live performance includes percussion

music and various visual effects. The stage director Julie Lachance who owns plenty experience in arts creation has

more than 20 years’ work experiences in Quebec Circus and worked with famous circuses such as Cirque du Soleil,

Salto Natale.

L'Arsenal à Musique, Canada, was established in 1978 by the artistic directors Lorena Corradi and Reggi

Ettore. It is dedicated to introducing concerts and musical performances to the youth and the public. The company

has created 24 musicals and toured around Europe and America for years.

3. 上海越剧院红楼团新编越剧《秋色渐浓》新编越剧《秋色渐浓》以辛亥革命为历史背景，展示了一个几近没落的书香门第中所有人物命运变化的

心路历程。热血青年吴仕达满怀憧憬地投身于辛亥革命，却在血腥杀戮和世事变化无常中迷失了方向；而他的妻子素英却在丈夫颓丧之时，义无反顾地跨出了小家门墙。其间，革命党人雷继秋从介入到献身，成了这一对夫妻交错而行的血色标杆。

New Yue opera Late Autumn sets its backdrop against the 1911 Revolution in China. It describes the changes in

destinies and intellectual development of the people in a declining scholarly family. A radical and idealist young

man named Wu Shida commits himself to the revolution, but soon finds that he has been bogged down in the

bloodlust and changeable situation. His wife Suying rises to struggle and leaves home without any hesitation when

her husband is down in the dump. During this period of time, the revolutionary Lei Jiqiu’s appearance till his later

martyrdom has stamped the crossing point between Wu Shida and his wife Suying.

The opera Late Autumn conforms to the classical unities in drama, i.e. the unities in action, time and place.

Compact in structure with ups and downs in plot, its cast consists of only six actors and actresses just for one scene

throughout, a bold attempt scarcely seen on Chinese traditional opera stage.

The libretto is written by Li Li, president of Shanghai Yue Opera Theatre and the performance is directed by

Cao Qijing. Successors of three Yue opera schools, Zhang Ruihong, Wang Zhiping and Fang Yafen firstly join

hands to star the opera.

4. 甘肃省陇剧院大型陇剧《官鹅情歌》大型陇剧《官鹅情歌》以甘肃省宕昌县官鹅沟为背景，讲述氐族青年官珠与羌族姑娘鹅以爱情化解仇恨，

为和平不惜献身，从而使两个民族世代友好、和睦相处的故事，是一部集本土剧种、本土作家、本土题材、本土演员等元素为一身的地道甘肃戏。

Long Opera Guan-E Romance by Long Opera Theatre of Gansu Province

The story of the Long opera Guan-E Romance is set in Guan-E Village of Dangchan County, Gansu Province.

The boy Guan Zhu from the Di ethnic group and the girl E from the Qiang people try to eliminate the hatred

through their mutual love and devote their lives to a friendly relationship between the two peoples. Like a Chinese

version of Romeo and Juliet, it is, however, a typical Gansu drama with everything from the local, including the

genre, writer, material, actors and other elements.

This new Long opera involves several different elements, e.g. folk music in South Long area, modern music and

dance, creating a new way in traditional singing and performing style. At the same time, the opera absorbs some

means of expression from modern drama, opera, film and television, which makes a fluent and vivid rhythm to the

progress of the story. The difference in costumes, folklores and languages as reflected in the two ethnic groups

sharply contrasts to the traditional Long opera, which provides a vast space for the genre’s innovation.

The libretto is written by female author Cao Rui, with music composed by Zhao Jiping, also as art director.

The hero and heroine starred by Bian Xiao and Lei Tongxia are the winners of Plum Award for drama. The play has

been listed into “2007-08 Excellent Librettos of National Stage Work Program”.

Peking Opera Waves Over Dead River by Shanghai Youth Peking & Kun Opera Troupe

The Peking Opera Wave over Dead Waters is recomposed from Chuan opera of the same name. The

description of a woman’s changing marriage along with the times in a small town of West Sichuan in the early 20 th

century, reveals the sufferings and miseries in China of that time.

The opera conforms to the tradition of Peking Opera whereas it reserves the essence and musical form of its

original Chuan opera version. Keeping a compact plot as well as the vivid dialogue of the original opera, it,

however, has introduced new singing style and Beijing dialect, which gives audience a brand-new experience.

The play is directed by the artist of Chuan opera, Tian Mansha, winners of quite a few prizes, e.g. First Prize

of Wenhua Grand Award, two Plum Awards for Drama, Magnolia Prize for Drama Hero/Heroine. Shi Xiaojun,

from Shanghai Youth Peking & Kun Opera Troupe, takes the role of Deng Yaogu. In 2006, she won the Excellent

Performing Award in Asia Drama Festival.

7. 深圳市粤剧团现代粤剧《风雪夜归人》现代粤剧《风雪夜归人》改编于著名剧作家吴祖光的同名话剧，讲述了在“高贵蒙受着耻辱，黄金埋没

在泥沙”的时代里，万人追捧的红戏子魏连生和出身青楼的玉春，不甘屈辱与束缚，向往着自由与尊严，二十年的分离，二十年的相思，在凝重的黄城根下，演绎了一段生死不渝、凄美动人的爱情故事。

Modern Cantonese Opera Home Late on Flurry Night by Shenzhen Cantonese Opera Troupe

The modern Cantonese opera Coming Home Late on Flurry Night is the stage adaptation of Wu Zuguang’s

drama of the same title. It tells a touching love story between a popular entertainer Wei Liansheng and a girl

Yuchun from brothel with 20 years’ separation and lovesickness in Beijing. It happened in a time when people

graceful and talented were insulted and stifled. They made every effort to break through the humiliation and

restraint and to go for freedom and dignity.

The conventional stage art has been broken through, not only in singing style, but also in space and time of

the stage by joining reality and super-reality, and with fashions and colorful costumes as well. Moreover, a variety

of stage properties and live symphonic accompaniment have perfectly been blended with present aesthetics.

The director is Zhang Qihong, who is national Class-A director of the National Theatre. This Cantonese opera

has two versions, i.e. classic and youth version. In the former, Feng Yigang plays Wei Liansheng for the second

time after he left the role 25 years ago, and Su Chunmei, the successor of Master Hongxian Nü, plays Yuchun. The

latter is starred by two young actors Wu Xiaoyi and Wu Siming.

想不到辛苦抚养长大的女儿却不顾父亲反对，一头往火坑里跳，让满怀不甘的弄臣终于向上反抗。剧情融入了多种的艺术元素，即可听到超出传统皮黄的声腔音乐，又看到不同于传统程式的舞蹈、小魔术表演等，所有手段的采用都是“技在戏中”，起到烘托剧情与人物的作用。由台北新剧团著名文武老生李宝春一人同时担纲改编、导演和主演。Modern Peking Opera The Jester by Taipei Li-yuan Peking Opera Theatre

The modern Peking opera The Jester has the similar story with Verdi’s opera Rigoletto, only with the

backdrop in China, or we can say, a Chinese version reasonably up to all its details.

In a fictitious country, the Jester Li Yongde does all the dirty things he can to please the emperor and to keep

his daughter from the lusty emperor. To his surprise, his daughter just does everything against his father’s will,

which leads to his opposition to the emperor. The opera integrates multiple artistic elements, not only extra-

conventional singing style, but non-conventional dance and magic art as well. All the effects applied are used as

the so-called “skills within the shows”, which contribute to throw the plot and characters in relief.

The leading star Li Baochun of Taipei Li-yuan Peking Opera Theatre, famous civic and martial male role

in Peking Opera, takes over the post of director and playwright.

The modern Yang opera County Magistrate & Boss tells the story that Yu Qili faces a difficult problem when

he has just been appointed the county magistrate of Ankang Country. Lin Tiancheng, the boss of a private company

wants to merge a close-to-bankruptcy machinery factory in order to enlarge his business. But he wouldn’t like to

take over more than 100 workers that are about to be laid off. Thus it comes to a deadlock. Between the county

magistrate and the boss many conflicts arise, which, together with challenges, are what young cadres at primary

level are facing in social reform nowadays.

The play touches the deep inside of human beings through fluent rhythm, simple scenery, fabulous music and

excellent performance to mirror the voice from ordinary people for healthy life values, which gives traditional local

opera a completely new look. The play won the Innovative Drama Award of the 31st World Drama Festival, 2008-

2009 Stage Art Top Ten Excellent Performance Award of Jiangsu Province, and the Excellent Drama Award and

Excellent Performance Award of the 11th National Drama Festival.

10． 上海话剧艺术中心话剧《大哥》话剧《大哥》讲述了上海人自己的故事，回望了上海城市的沧海桑田。1973 年除夕，意气风发、英俊帅气的大哥牛培华，带着深爱的恋人——资本家小姐吴静梅上门，并

想出了用大白兔奶糖抓阄的办法决定弟妹插队落户的命运。1985 年除夕，三个弟妹为家里的住房吵得不可开交，牛培华和新婚妻子让出了新房，也就是这一年，他与旧爱吴静梅意外重逢。1997 年，母亲已过世，除夕夜没有谁在意团圆，大哥毅然召回了弟妹，说出了让大家震惊的决定，濒临解散的家得以聚拢 。2009 年，业已老去的大哥遭遇人生中最大的冲击，他无限悲哀地发现，在 80 后的儿子眼中，自己是一个彻头彻尾的失败者……

The drama Eldest Brother tells a story about Shanghai, which looks back to the great changes the city has

experienced.

New Year’s Eve, 1973, in the “Cultural Revolution”, the handsome eldest brother Niu Peihua brought his

sweetheart Wu Jingmei home. And he attempted to decide by drawing lots who among his younger sisters and

brothers should settle down in the countryside. New Year’s Eve, 1985, in the early years of reform, three younger

brothers and sisters quarreled fiercely about who was entitled to becoming the owner of the family house. In that

situation, Niu Peihua and his new wife had to move away from the house. It was in that year that Niu Peihua

encountered his old sweetheart Wu Jingmei again. In 1997, the mother passed away and none of the family

members cared about another reunion on New Year’s Eve. It was again the eldest brother who called home his

younger sisters and brothers to claim his shocking decision in order to reunite the disintegrated family. In 2009, the

eldest brother faced the most serious hit in his life. He was aging but sad to find that in his son’s eyes, he was

totally a loser.

Four New Year’s Eves of an ordinary family in Shanghai respectively in 1973, 1985, 1997 and 2009, unfold

four fragments in the eldest brother’s life, i.e. love, blood ties, meanings of family bonds, ideals and values of one

generation. As time goes by, with gains and losses, disintegration and reunion, endless life stories go on spreading

Yang Xueyun, the new Zhuangyuan, got married with the minister’s daughter, Tang Meifen. He had to go to

his appointed post, the governor of Jiangnan before he finished his wedding. But the minister was framed for

hiding his daughter from being selected by the emperor and then was forced to resign. Tang Meifen had been sent

to the royal palace to be maid. Besides, the princess had a crush on Yang Xueyun, the emperor wanted him to be

his daughter’s husband. Yang Xueyun used to be a homeless boy. Thanks to the minister, he was saved and been

nurtured to be a talent. And he fell in love with Tang Meifen. The emperor’s command cannot be violated, the love

cannot be given up, what should Yang Xueyun do to make a choice?

The Love of the Zhuangyuan is the first work of Shanghai Xiaoya Culture & Art Co. Ltd. In 2004, Ya Xiao

won the 21st Plum Award of Chinese Play through this work.

12． 上海张军昆曲艺术中心实景园林版昆曲《牡丹亭》实景园林版昆曲《牡丹亭》由 2010 年上海世博会文化大使、音乐家谭盾，“昆曲王子”张军和舞蹈家

黄豆豆倾心跨界主创，以实景、实情呈现明代大文豪汤显祖的巨作《牡丹亭》，还原中国古代“客至乐具，豪门清韵”的待客之本。谭盾如此描述园林昆曲《牡丹亭》的境界，“于听，天籁魂萧、地籁流水、人籁昆腔，三音汇合，才能

演绎这刹那芳华的绮梦；于看，夕阳西斜、烛火摇曳、颜庞闪烁，自然的极至方是美的神粹。”2010 年，梦幻如斯的主创团队将抛开现代的框架式舞台，摒弃繁复的剧场式呈现，终将牡丹之亭还

A young woman has a passionate dream about a mysterious stranger and she begins to develop a deep longing

for this handsome lover. So begins the extraordinary love story, The Peony Pavilion. Written in 1598 by the

“Chinese Shakespeare” Tang Xianzu, The Peony Pavilion focuses on love, beauty, relationship, and marriage. This

powerful story continues to resonate with audience everywhere, even in this modern day and age.

Tan Dun, Academy Award winner and world-renowned composer, along with Zhang Jun, China’s “Prince of

Kunqu Opera” and Huang Doudou, Chinese famous dancer coproduced this new version of The Peony Pavilion.

Abandoning the proscenium stage, the creative team brings the scenes back to nature. The garden being seen and

heard, audience become a part of the entire setup. The experience of the spectators is well designed through artistic

explorations by the artists.

The Ming Dynasty Kunqu opera comes to life in a Ming garden of the ancient water town Zhujiajiao – the

His youngest son He Xiaoming has been caught raising fund illegally and the one who exposes the crime is no

one but his nephew Xiao Jian. He Xiaoming decides to spend the last New Year Eve with his parents before he runs

With music, song and dance, and drama, GG Bond-the Angel’s Adventure is a 3D puppet drama, the highest in

level and largest in scale in this country

The drama is about a beautiful princess whose beauty has been stolen by a witch. Though becoming ugly, she

keeps a kind heart rather than gives in to her misfortune. Finally, the kindness of the princess touches GG Bond and

his partners. They join their hands to defeat the witch. The story is quite interesting, matched with elaborately

designed shapes and fabulous setting on the stage. Meanwhile it introduces modernized stage effects with sound,
