Dr. Zhang Zhi Ming is Managing Director, Head of China Research at

HSBC. He has about 16 years of experience in Global Markets and

Research. He started at the Asian fixed income trading desk, and then

the Asian products team where he developed, marketed and executed

offshore Asian currency, rates, and credit derivatives that include the

introduction of RMB-NDF-linked products.

Zhi Ming created the leading benchmarks that cover the Asian domestic

and the offshore bond markets that are followed by hundreds of

institutional investors around the world. He is the lead-advisor

representing HSBC for the development of the Asian Bond Fund II,

sponsored by 11 Asian central banks. Zhi Ming speaks frequently to

government officials, central banks, institutional investors, hedge funds,

private banking clients and corporate clients on developments in China

and global markets.

Before joining HSBC, Zhi Ming was a professor of finance at the Eccles

School of Business at the University of Utah and has a Ph.D in

economics from Indiana University. He worked for a year for the

Shanghai Government after graduating from the Shanghai Jiao Tong

University.
