should kullanmalıyız.

Yapılmasının iyi olmayacağını söyleyebilmek için ise olumsuz hali

shouldn’t kullanmalıyız.

Ought to - Ought not Ought to" da "should" ile aynı manada

kullanılır. Günlük hayatta genellikle should tercih edildiğinden, çok fazla rastlamayız.

*Amerikalılar genelde daha az formal olan “should not ” ve “had better not ”

kullanırlar.Olumsuz yapıda ”Ought not to “değil “Ought not” doğrusudur

She should save money to buy a car.

She ought to save money to buy a car. 

She shouldn’t waste her money to buy a car.

She ought not (to) waste her money to buy a car

“Had better” yapısı, karşı tarafa bir konuda tavsiye verirken ve öneride bulunurken kullanılır. Anlam yönüyle "should" yapısına çok benzer ve aynı manayı verir. “Had better”in olumsuz şekli

“had better not” şeklinde kullanılır.

Had better =Should=ought to Had better not = Shouldn’t=ought not

Bir işin yapılmasının iyi olacağını kuvvetli bir uyarı ya da öneri olarak belirtmek için

kullanılır.

You had better work harder, or you will fail. (Daha çok çalışsan iyi olur, yoksa sınıfta kalırsın.) 

Olumsuz şeklinde, better kelimesinden sonra olumsuzluk eki “not” getirilir.

You had better not go now. (Şimdi gitmesen iyi olur.)

 

MUST“Must” bir şeyin yada bir durumun “çok gerekli yada

zorunlu” olması anlamındadır Must not (mustn’t) olumsuzluk bildirir.

*You must pay the bill before you leave the restaurant.(Restarondan ayrılmadan önce hesabı ödemelisin.)

*You must do your homework.(Ev ödevini yapmalısın.) 

*You are ill,you must see the doctor.(Hastasın,doktora görünmelisin.)

*Children must keep their rooms tidy.(Çocuklar odalarını toplu tutmalıdır.)

*You mustn’t tell lies.(Yalan söylememelisin.)

*You mustn’t be late for school.(Okula geç kalmamalısın.)

*You mustn’t eat food in class.(Sınıfta yiyecek yememelisin)
