My Experience（我的经历）
1986-89 MSc in Marine Biology （海洋生物） in the USA and China (US-Sino Collaborative Education Program)
1993-1999 MSc and PhD in Molecular Biology of Cancer （癌症分子生物学）, Faculty of Medicine （医学院） ，Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada
1999-2004 Postdoc (博士后）, Yale University School of Medicine (耶鲁大学医学院), USA
2004-present Assistant to Associate Professor，Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine （病理和分子医学系）, Queen’s University （女王大学）
3. Credit (信誉）是生命 1）人们一般相信你所说的，这并不说明人们傻
4. Reference Letter (推荐信) 1）一般需要3份推荐信

Interaction with others (与人交往） Be responsive (应答） & responsible （负责任）
Presentation（演讲）－course, lab meeting, departmental seminar, job interview, etc
Think first: who are the audience (students, professors, etc). To be easily understood by all audience
Express your ideas effectively in a logical way
Networking (supervisor, committee members, labmates, other professors and graduate students, etc)

Set long-term (MSc or PhD) and short-term goals (e.g. paper)
Make a “To do” list with deadlines. Always meet the deadlines
Work hard (given) Your reward is proportional to how much you have invested （你的付出和你的获得成正比）
Einstein: “I am not any smarter than anyone else, I just stay with the question longer”
To save your time, always ask around for advice/suggestions prior to doing things you have never done before

Always finish the work several days before the deadlines

What is plagiarism?
When taking courses: Copy the sentences/ideas from internet or other people’s work
例：在写文章或做讲座中使用别人发表文章中的图，但 不写出图来自何处。
