MOOC GdP & Value creation• One year: how many ECTS on GdP2 + GdP3? 8.444 =125 student*years

• Cost of one student*year in France : 13.827 €• MOOC GdP produces 1,7 millions € value/year

• How many course hours watched on YouTube ?• 122.670 hours/year = 204 student*year• 2.8 millions €/year

• Cost of professional training• 1h professional training in e-learning : 45€ HT• 8 – 13 millions €/year

But value creation is not benefit !

This is why venture firms have problems with MOOCs while European universities are developing them on : benefit first / value creation first.

Part 3

Open education & MOOCs

Are Open Educational Resources and MOOC the same thing?

No, its not the same « open »

– OER “Open” means :

• freely re-usable (4 freedoms : re-use, remix, sell, modify & redistribute ...)

– MOOC “Open” means :

• wider audience: enrolment is open to all

Open Education .. And what else ?

• Open Educational Resources

• Open Source code

• Open Data

• Open Access Publishing

• Open Research

• Quizze, case studies, platform engineering..

– Is active data open?• Posts in discussion thread

• Posts on external social networks (Facebook..)
